" An ill-mannered fan tossed a bag of peanuts at me, "Jones claimed," I was called the N-word a handful of times tonite. Thanks. Pretty incredible.".

Jones, among just 62 African-Americans on opening-day rosters this year, said he has been subjected to racist hecklings in the past at Fenway Park, however said this was just one of the worst experiences of his 12-year profession.".

Unfortunately Boston is filled with a bunch of racist idiots(particularly Irish people). It makes the entire city look bad

Yes it does have a long history here but a large portion of South Boston does/ did not agree with the first decision made by the parade planners. Many groups pulled out of the parade until the OUT- VETS group was allowed to march. The older generation of South Boston is the more discriminatory group and the younger generation is trying to change it.

Now even the Red Sox fans are racists? Welcome to Trump’s America.

    • Posted by Vienna Waits4U, at Reply

+ Pallas – *”Welcome to Trump’s America”* WTF?!? Boston is one of the most liberal cities in America. Boston and the entire state of Massachusetts voted over whelmingly for Hillary and Obama in 2008 and 2012.

    • Posted by JeCarte Williams, at Reply

Pallas AnitaSarkeesian Boston has a history of racism. Its why Kevin Garnett originally didn’t want to go to the celtics. I forget why he changed his mind.

Pallas AnitaSarkeesian it’s Boston they’re all racist.

    • Posted by OpenMindsThinkAlike, at Reply

That’s also why Patrick Ewing went Georgetown and not Boston College, despite living in Cambridge…

    • Posted by Chris V, at Reply

JeCarte Williams if I remember correctly it was only after they got Ray Allen that he agreed to go there since he was pretty much guaranteed a ring then.

Blasto Manto I wouldn’t say that Boston is the most racist cities. I’m from Boston anyway, I don’t think that when one person does something bad I don’t think that should be based on the whole city. Racism is a problem every where, and one city should not be known for it. I don’t want to offend anyone’s opinion, but I think this should be put on the single (probably drunk) man.

  6. Posted by El Paxton The Great, at Reply

Boston sports fans in general tend to be some of the most racist. Lots of alt-right Patriots and Celtics fans.

    • Posted by Larry Calloway, at Reply

      Ryan Reed Exactly !

    • Posted by OpenMindsThinkAlike, at Reply

We also lost out on Patrick Ewing in the 80s.  He lived in right next door in Cambridge, and played HS basketball for Cambridge Rindge, but chose Georgetown over BC, because the long racial history we have.  Rumor has it Bill Russell actually advised him to get out of Boston…

Philly is worse they booed the best QB they ever had but love their new white QB that is pure trash LMAO

    • Posted by Chris V, at Reply

Mike Vincent I remember that it took them trading for Ray Allen for him to even agree to go there

  7. Posted by Chris Koeder, at Reply

Are you going to report on that guy who went on a stabbing spree in Texas? Seems like that would be the bigger story but then again I guess it doesn’t go along with your narrative…

    • Posted by Chris Koeder, at Reply

+shizunne I can agree with you that a slow news day would be ideal. We part ways when it comes to tyt pushing a certain agenda. They know who Their audience is and like many people exist in a vacuum chamber. In no way are they even close to being remotely Fair. They are just now starting to cover all the nonsense with antifa because they know the majority of Their audience are sympathizers. Even when they do cover them they are sympathetic or make excuses if nothing else. TYT is the Fox News of the left and extremely out of touch with reality and Middle America.

    • Posted by Chris Koeder, at Reply

+shizunne I watch Philip DeFranco from time to time, I don’t always agree with him but he is entertaining. Hopefully his news organization will be a success. As far as the religious thing goes with tyt if anything they are extremely anti-religious while at the same time coming across as Muslim apologists far too often. It’s actually kind of weird. I don’t care if you are atheist or agnostic, it has absolutely no bearing in my opinion either way. They were on Bernie’s nuts up until the end until they decided to push for who they considered the lesser of two evils. If I’m being honest I consider myself somewhere between a conservative and libertarian, I try to watch tyt to keep myself open to other opinions but damn it’s hard sometimes.

    • Posted by DAK4Blizzard, at Reply

You can fine someone for throwing objects at you.

    • Posted by Nick Jaremko, at Reply

The story never said the guy who threw the object was the same who said the racial slur. Hell, there is no proof that there was a racial slur. Nobody else said they heard it, and now days it would have been caught on a cellphone. TYT just wanted to soapbox without all the information.

    • Posted by Jamie Cox, at Reply

    • Posted by Jason Bourgault, at Reply

dapunisher1000 idiots like you that go blaming white people as a whole are just as bad as the guy who threw the peanuts. If anything you’re being racist yourself this about what you say before you say it

    • Posted by Turn Down for Watt, at Reply

+dapunisher1000 You just singled out every other white person nearby at the game. How is that not racist? If you want social justice, you shouldn’t be pointing fingers.

    • Posted by OpenMindsThinkAlike, at Reply

+Turn Down for Watt…Everyone knows that not all white people are racist.  But, try putting yourself in the shoes of a black or Hispanic  person.  Try looking on when every week an unarmed black teen or young man is shot by a cop, or ICE raids take place in city after city targeting latinos.  Then, top  that all off with scores of white people defending these actions on social media.  It gets pretty frustrating and pretty scary, and that’s from the perspective of a white man who is never likely to face that kind of discrimination.  If you’re not a racist, you really should call out the people yelling racial slurs, not the people frustrated by it…

  17. Posted by Melly Kidd, at Reply

The US is known world-wide for being a stereotypically racist country. For a long time now, Americans using racist slurs with the intent to degrade and humiliate others has been defended as a worthwhile constitutional right.
