Nothing on Sweden. Well I guess you can’t blame Islamic terror on their foreign policy, whatever doesn’t fit the narrative isn’t reported.

    • Posted by Andrew Wells, at Reply

Only a progressive would shrug off a terrorist attack that killed four people and injured 15 as “non-lethal” … that says it all mate.

*”Or just the kinds of attacks you happen to obsess over, regardless of any kind of objective criterium of seriousness?”*

Killing innocent people isn’t objectively serious? Why don’t you just come out and say it already? You don’t care. The Swedish attack has nothing to do with their foreign policy, I’m guessing that’s why they didn’t report it but people like you only care about scoring virtue points. Nothing else matters.

    • Posted by wishcraft4u2, at Reply

OK, 4 people died, I missed that apparently. But it’s the same thing.
The US govt kills Muslims by the tens of thousands every year. Where are the reports, where is your demand for the reports… Sounds like you just think Western lives are about a 1000 times more valuable than Muslim lives. Please excuse TYT for disagreeing with you.

    • Posted by wishcraft4u2, at Reply

Or you know, how many people have even heard of the notion that the US has instigated dozens of violent coups against democratically elected regimes since WW2, replacing them with right wing dictatorships, in American countries alone, directly causing houndreds of thousands of deaths through violence and many more through economic deprivations from the ensuing forced “free market reforms”? These are cold hard facts, you might think they’d hold more prominence in US political culture. Except it doesn’t fit your right wing PC narrative, for one thing it disproves the absurd “big government must automatically be leftist” myth because obviously installing right wing dictators is hardly a leftist agenda point.

    • Posted by wishcraft4u2, at Reply

But yeah 4 people died in Sweden, people who by rights should have died due to lack of health care or just dire poverty, because FREEEEEDOOOMMMM!!! lol seriously, the audacity people like you have to recuperate these people’s lives for your perverted political cause and then accuse other people of “virtue signallign”, it sickens me to my stomach

    • Posted by Andrew Wells, at Reply

*” But it’s the same thing.”*

Uh huh. Well, well done to you for being honest enough to not even pretend to give a crap about terrorism. Problem is, I do.

*”Sounds like you just think Western lives are about a 1000 times more valuable than Muslim lives. Please excuse TYT for disagreeing with you.”*

Now you’re talking crap. I never said that. Mentioning that a terrorist attack occurred in Sweden doesn’t mean I’m in favour of right wing dictatorships or wars in the middle east, stop being a moron.

Mr. Nisse Exactly. He shouldn’t have to tell us that we should replace everyone of them- in fact if he did they would cut him off from all those resources he has been exploiting and now tommy boy is rolling around with him as a great example of the kind of lying bastard we progressives need to replace. And btw once we own the DNC again we can use its resource to help lunch the green party sighting that a third party would help keep balance in politics.

This is by far the worst show on TYT. The main show with Anna , Cerk, and John. They already explain what’s wrong with this plan.

    • Posted by Yan Toha, at Reply

they just went a bit in depth with a different manner. That make they the worst show?

    • Posted by Malachi Owens, at Reply

no they did not. all they did was read an article and Nomiki Konst talk about it.

Great reporting. I live in New York and can’t believe how many people (family included) believe Cuomo is such a progressive and he’s so presidential for leading the state on a Bernie issue. But he’s not and never would! He’s a greedy democrat who hides behind Bernie while trying to convince New Yorkers how he is taking care of us. And it’s working. The same people who watch the news on TV, no questions asked, are sheep who are praising our “progressive savior”, Mr. Lie-to-your-face-and-count-on-the-ignorance-of-the-public Andy Cuomo.

Glumo no they never do realise that-or else they don’t care. As a Scot living in a much more left leaning country it constantly surprises me that some Americans find ideas that would be considered more centrist here is apparently “far left” in the USA

    • Posted by Teethgrinder 83, at Reply

Glumo yeah that’s the sad realisation of American politics and then to a lesser (but no less worse) degree Westminster politics-money talks. The SNP over here are regarded as being on the Left but still centre Left,I suspect if there was a party with the same policies in the US they would be labelled communists. It’s very strange looking at the way of thinking from this side of the Atlantic. Even if someone doesn’t agree with Scottish independence over here there are still a myriad of reasons for someone to vote SNP (free doctor prescriptions, getting atomic weapons out of Scotland, stopping the tax on spare rooms, more social housing etc….) and because we are a small country we are lucky enough to be able to have parties survive and thrive on small but many donations (although there are one or two large donations it’s nothing compared to the likes of the Tories). Your right even Labour has been infected with this problem-London alone has more voters than the whole of Scotland, this means Labour has taken its eye off the ball-and it’s a big reason many voters up here switched from Labour to SNP. Many people see the SNP as anti-English,its not true,we have English people living here who vote SNP-we are anti Westminster though, which is hardly surprising when as a country we consistently vote to the Left, whether that’s Labour or SNP,but if one city-London-or the likes of Manchester and Liverpool vote Conservative that automatically wipes out any chances that our whole country has of seeing the party we want in power. Maybe the US would do better with a cap on how much can be spent on campaigning, what do you think? I can’t say but I’d like to know your thoughts. Rant over hahaha

cuck ANTIFA are hardly a terrorist group-chill on the hyperbole mate. Their a bunch of fools that think violence and smashing things up are the way to fight extremism of the right without seeing the irony in their actions. It hardly makes them terrorist any more than the sickening “alt-right” are terrorists-each are misguided in different ways, neither are terrorists. So chill. Now to a certain extent I’ll agree with you that TYT cherry pick-but people are very capable of following up their stories, the internet makes this very easy-and for all the claims of MSM being “fake news” it’s still very rigorous. TYT is more of an opinion site than a news site-read the likes of the BBC if you want a more news based site. It’s not perfect but it has standards. Breitbart et all. Is just as guilty as TYT but again,id regard that as an opinion site rather than a news site-why can’t you see there is a clear difference between editorials and news?

Jimmy has to go. He such a glass glass half empty. Jimmy has every to call people and things stupid. As a guy on the internet “informing” people, he has every right to his uninformed and bias. TYT has the responsibility to offer a balance, or at least someone who doesn’t insult our intelligence.

Instead we get this opinionated arm chair hack.

What is progress? It’s moving ahead. It is disrupting the status quo, it is taking steps the right direction. You can’t have a grand slam unless you have three folks already on base, You can; have a person stepping on the moon without a whole lot of people doing a lot of R&D. NY State (and I’m not a NY’er) moves out smartly, and this guy, sits back and calls everybody stupid

    Jimmy must go.

Funny, Jimmy and TYT Politics seem to be the only ones sticking to their values, unlike Cenk and Anna.

  8. Posted by Supreme, at Reply

Jimmy’s criticism is unfair. I think that Cuomo found a way to make it make sense financially for the state. That is, if you get help with your tuition then you must stay in the city to work and pay taxes so that the state makes money back from its investment in you. Covering tuition alone makes it hard for non-New Yorkers to take advantage of the deal maybe at the expense of New Yorkers. To mitigate the cost of room students have the option of staying at home and attending a college nearby.

    • Posted by pinkbearx3ily, at Reply

Supreme Jimmy pretty spot on with criticism because living expenses are more often double the price of tuition and some local schools don’t have the major the student wants to study. For example I want to study animation there are no SUNY in NYC that offer that as a major except FIT. I doubt that fashion institute of technology is going to give me the education I expect. I attend SUNY fredonia which is upstate and I pay nearly 12k a year to live on campus. Here’s another thin even if I stayed in NYC the program would do nothing for people like me because financial aid would cover most of the cost. In the end very few people qualify and it helps almost no one. I’m not saying this just because of my experience. A lot of people get financial aid so those who chose a school that’s close don’t need it. People who don’t don’t qualify because they make too much. My roommate has 4 siblings and her family make 180k yearly and she doesn’t qualify. Did you read any stats on who this actually helps?

TYT is really beginning to turn me off to the point where I’m considering not watching anymore. This show has become the voice of the left’s version of the Tea Party. Putting ideological purity over effective governance will not get anything accomplished, just ask Bernie Sanders. This was an amazing and progressive piece of legislation by Cuomo’s administration, especially given that the New York Senate is controlled by Republicans.

I see so much praise on this show for Bernie Sanders, but other than talking about making college more affordable what actual accomplishments does he have to his name towards college affordability? Governor Cuomo doesn’t automatically have my vote if he runs for president in 2020, but I know if I had to choose someone who has a track record of accomplishing things I’m going to have a preference for a doer versus a talker.

    • Posted by pinkbearx3ily, at Reply

Melanie Dean this not what Bernie advocated in the election this is Hillary plan. Remember she said tuition free.

    • Posted by Melanie Dean, at Reply

I agree that Ben and Michael are the voices of reason, but they’re only two people. I notice that even Cenk and Ana are even starting to take on a similar tone to Jimmy when it comes to debates on policy. I just find it a bit troubling that I see the them going down this path of extremism.

I used to love TYT, but they’re beginning to sound too much like a left wing version of The Blaze and that’s something I just can’t get on board with.

+elcubanito1990 if it works for 65 million people why can’t it work for 300 million people?

    • Posted by Caleb Wheeler, at Reply

Because not all are in a district that has infrastructure to support their degree, meaning more can default on their loan. England has a huge economy with a smaller land area, meaning you have less to lose. We have entire swaths of farmland, military testing facilities, roads, and real estate to maintain.

    • Posted by Sam Vimes, at Reply

+Caleb Wheeler I see your point. But that seems to be incredibly shite for poorer families. I thought America was about this “American dream” of rising to the top from the bottom? Yet most poor Americans seem to have less chances of doing that than European countries! Seems like the “American dream” is just a soundbite to keep the poor Dreaming

    • Posted by 1955RodHot, at Reply

I love how so many Americans think nothing that works in Europe can possibly work in the USA because they are “different”. They are only different because you are too stupid to realize you can actually change the current system, as has been done many times in the past. But even then, what is so different? In Europe the countries are democracies with a capitalist/socialist mix. That’s exactly the same system you have in the USA. The only difference is your government spends as much money as possible on your military and as little as possible on social programs while in Europe their spending is far more balanced. There is no reason why you couldn’t spend a little less on your already ridiculously huge military and a little more on social programs, it would only take a shift of about ten percent of the overall budget to make an amazing difference to your quality of life. And you would still have by far the biggest military budget in the world.

This is why the left keeps losing. instead of championing the progress and then planning to make it better you attack the progress cause it’s not progressive enough and at the end up with nothing. It’s not perfect but it’s better than the alternative which is what we have now.

    • Posted by edgeninja, at Reply

The left keeps losing because there’s no longer a left party. We have a center-right party and an INSANE right party.

    • Posted by Kevin GT, at Reply

Saying “The economy is great” when half the country is poor is an example of championing progress when it’s not progressive enough. When democrats did that long enough, Donald Trump became president. Progressives have to be honest about the faults of programs (especially ones pretending to be progressive) so that people who are left out know that we are pushing to include them or understand why we are not. Otherwise, people see “liberals” abandoning them and vote conservative or not at all.
