To be fair, Sanders lost in the South largely because they didn’t know him and Hillary was universally known, and was fully expected to walk to a win on March 1st when these states voted. Sanders also didn’t have the money or infrastructure yet to win on a day when there were 15 primaries–that’s the entire reason for the creation of Super Tuesday (for the Establishment to crush insurgents). It isn’t that his message failed to resonate with Southern Black voters, it is that they didn’t have much information about him. The odds of an extremely famous juggernaut Democratic candidate hailing from a Southern state (like Hillary) in 2020 are very low, which suggests that Sanders should do much better in the Southern primaries–among all races–if he runs again.

Steve I was going to make this exact same comment. I live in Mobile, AL in a very mixed demographic part of the city–as Super Tuesday approached, I started up conversations with people in public places while standing in lines and stuff, and yes, the black citizens I talked to universally said they were going to vote for Clinton, never heard of Sanders. I think things will be very different the next time around. BTW, I my street has a lot of people without cars, so I intend to offer a ride to anyone on the block who wants to go vote Dec. 12 for our special Senate election (Roy KKK Moore vs. Doug Jones).

Bernie should run in 2020. He will only be 79 years old. I’m all for it.

If bernie doesn’t run, the dems are going to run someone else and they’ll be totally in pocket of establishment.

The reality that many don’t want to accept is that Bernie ALMOST became president.
A few states made him lose to Hillary/DNC, and if he would have been against Trump, Trump would have had no chance. No scandals to pin point.

Now that people know Bernie, which they didn’t until the midway point of the Democratic primaries, Bernie will win 2020 with sooooo much ease!

Mark my words, screenshot it, and wait for it.

Dracule Mihawk how did he almost become president? He lost to Hillary and Hillary lost to Trump. That’s like coming in last place and saying I almost won.

He’s an excellent candidate for a Vice President but as president he’s too old. I can’t see Americans voting for a guy who looks 90 in 2020.
