" The U.S. Department of Education and learning on Thursday will certainly introduce strategies to strike time out on two of the Obama administration's main guidelines focused on reining in for-profit colleges.
Department officials told Inside Greater Ed they will certainly obstruct a regulation, readied to work next month, that clears up how student consumers can have their financings forgiven if they were defrauded or misdirected by their university.

The Trump administration will certainly introduce a do-over of the rule-making procedure that created that law, known as borrower defense to repayment, as well as the gainful-employment policy, which holds employment programs responsible when they generate graduates with troublesome trainee lending debt.

While parts of rewarding work had currently gone into result, customer defense was arranged to end up being energetic on July 1. As that due date approached, reports had buzzed concerning the department's prepare for the guidelines while politicians and advocacy teams considered in with a flurry of letters."

Republicans aren’t for education, they are for economic reasons. Get that old hag out and replace her with someone who views Finland’s education as a worthy system.

    • Posted by Martti Hänninen, at Reply

Yeah we do have great system. Everyone is equal, no private schools and really focusing on learning. We have free food too in schools.

    • Posted by Karl Eriksen, at Reply

that is a misconception. The Republican agenda is very deliberate and well researched. The only problem for them is their program, which is DESIGNED to redistribute wealth upwards, disenfranchise the working class, shift the tax burden from the wealthy to the poor and middle class, and refocus government spending from social programs to war, police, and prisons, is totally unpopular with voters. That is why they must lie about their program, focus on non-issues like gay marriage abortion and “Making America Great again”. It may appear they don’t know what they are doing as people are harmed by these regressive policies, but actually things are working exactly as planned. “Trickle Down” never had to benefit those down the income ladder to work, it only had to make the rich richer for the Republicans to be thrilled with the results.

Parents: Take education into your own hands. *Do not* give up on Public education as the taxes we pay *demand* quality education, but *do not* rely on trump’s administration to educate your kids properly. The internet/Apps etc.. have millions of ways to help supplement your child’s education, find the one that best fits your child’s personality.

Focus on: Science, Math, Logic, History, and any type of art that interests your child.

    • Posted by Devonzell Pernell, at Reply

Angel Rojo But what about college education? Not counting if the economy collapses.

    • Posted by Angel Rojo, at Reply

+Pam Gifford On the contrary, it would work *best* for poor families. Educational supplements are usually free or practically free and are now more easily accessible than ever before. Youtube is a *great* example. There is a *wealth* of educational videos that supplement student curriculum, the best part is the amount of variety allows you to choose the videos that are best suited towards your particular child’s likes and dislikes keeping them engaged longer. …and this is only one avenue among many.

    • Posted by Angel Rojo, at Reply

+Devonzell Pernell College education will be a long-term affair. With eventually (at least) free community college available to all Citizens.

College education can also be supplemented. Similarly, as elementary education there is a plethora of quick, easy to mentally digest, videos here on youtube that cover just about every subject included in college curriculum. College level education is *crucial* independent of the economy. Certain subjects of College education are beneficial to the individual on their own merit.

When I became a single mother who had spent 10 years as a homemaker, I spoke to a recruiter at a for-profit college about acquiring marketable job skills. They encouraged me to borrow $65,000 to pay for the Paralegal Studies program they offered.

I enrolled in the Paralegal Studies program offered by the local community college which was accredited by the State Attorney General’s Office (the other program wasn’t) for $6,000. I graduated and have been working as a legal assistant for the last 5 years – with NO STUDENT DEBT!!!

+WCR2 Others have noticed. You forgot to mention state violence (the killing of unarmed citizens by law enforcement) and the school to prison pipeline that traps millions of Americans in the for-profit prison system.

Most politicians are narcissistic and want to rule over you. That’s the whole point of being in power. People like Bernie Sanders are the RARE EXCEPTION. I have interned for politicians and many are legit sociopaths. They do hate the poor and powerless and like to see them squirm and beg them to survive.

Think about it, we pay them to tell us how to live our lives. It’s like paying your parents just to exist. Is paying Bernie Sanders worth it? Maybe, because he actually cares about people as human beings. Is it worth it to pay someone like Steven King? Who wants to dictate what you do even with your own body? Hell no

What is this “hate” for flipping burgers? It’s a job as any other is. People eat burgers so you need people flipping them etc.

I really dont understand this it’s only flipping burgers or only cleaning etc job. Lets see what happens if no one does those jobs. Are they “still only” jobs?

You guys need attitude change towards jobs and that liveable wage from 40hours a week jobs, burgers, cleaning etc.

    • Posted by Newtron News, at Reply

Takoja I don’t think they were trying to hate on flipping burgers but if your being trained to be a chef in a restaurant and they show you a fake graph that includes jobs that aren’t what you’re going for its gonna anger u

    • Posted by Takoja, at Reply

Newtron News i know that. It was just the attitude she said it that irritated me and i have heard it before too from people in USA that only flipping burgers ou you only work at mcdonalds or so.

But ya i dont even want to comment about schools for profit or private schools. They are both bad.

Funny thing is that after ww2 it was USA president that introduced schooling and healthcare for all for europe. Europe took that idea and made it better and mean while USA just keeps going backwards 🙁

    • Posted by Newtron News, at Reply

Takoja I understand what you mean but what I was just trying to say is I think the attitude in her voice was more directed at the trickery of these bs fake colleges rather than the flipping burgers thing

    • Posted by I Swear I'm Not a Troll, at Reply

Nothing wrong with flipping burgers, but tasks like that should be automated. Why would you want to flip burgers when a machine can do it better, and free you up for a more rewarding occupation? Same with truck drivers and self driving cars. Will it suck to have to get a new profession? Sure, but truck driving is extremely dangerous to the driver and to everyone on the road, and both mentally and physically debilitating, so it will be a net positive to free people from those jobs.

In the future, labor will be more automated and a revolution will have to happen so that more people than those who “own” the machines will benefit from this labor automation. It will be a long and hard struggle, but the very concept of private property ownership and capitalism will have to completely change. We can’t have .01% of the population “owning” everything. It makes no sense logically.
