They´re both moronic, and lousy advocates for their cause.

Tomi is your typical conservative. Can’t detect irony, clueless when it comes to self-contradiction, guilty of hypocrisy beyond all hope of redemption. Her facts and statistics are completely “alternate” from reality. But pretending to be that stupid while spouting disgusting Republican propaganda pays well.

USA USA USA USA USA…a beacon of light for the world…where the politicians are openly stealing from taxpayers and the citizenry are killing each other supporting the politicians…HIP HIP HOOOORAY!!!!

Fitting quote from The American President:

“You want to claim this land as the land of the free? Then the symbol of your country cannot just be a flag. The symbol also has to be one of its citizens exercising his right to burn that flag in protest. Now show me that, defend that, celebrate that in your classrooms. Then, you can stand up and sing about the land of the free.”

    • Posted by Joe Price, at Reply

Citizens already have the freedom to burn the flag – the state will not prosecute individuals who burn flags since a 1969 supreme court decision ruled flag burning as protected speech. Therefore free speech is not the issue here.

What is the issue is that the NFL players are being allowed to break the rules and disrespect the flag and the anthem during work, and the NFL absolutely doesn’t (and shouldn’t) have to tolerate that. Fans are sending the message that they won’t tolerate that either during the games.

    • Posted by Ric Schmeelk, at Reply

I’m sorry but what rules are they breaking? Which teams have rules against peaceful protest? Also, maybe we should just go back to pre-2009 when the teams *weren’t even on the field* for the national anthem! Quit being so triggered and maybe take a second to learn what the protest is *actually* about.

    • Posted by Joe Price, at Reply

Sounds like you’re the one getting” triggered” especially in light of my rather calm reply. You’re also mistaken regarding pre-2009 games – there were many occasions in which players were on the field during anthems *except* during prime-time. I take it then you swallowed yet another media half-truth without actually verifying for yourself.

As far as what rule they are breaking, it’s on page A62 in the NFL Game Operations Manual, which specifies how players should conduct themselves during the playing of the national anthem (rules of conduct that haven’t been altered since 1978). Despite this, the NFL has stated after the Kapernick debacle that it will not discipline players who don’t stand for the anthem, so they have made the decision to not enforce their own rules of conduct for now at least. The loss of revenue will undoubtedly change that, because it is well within the NFL’s discretion to discipline players for their behavior during the anthem.

As far as what the protests are “really about”, unlike you I base it on actions, not words. The players can claim all they want that they’re protesting police brutality and “social injustice”, but in the end all they are doing is disrespecting the symbols that represent the nation and all of its citizens. My interpretation of it all is that they’re just virtue-signaling. Try not to get so” triggered”, as you like to put it, over someone else’s alternate interpretations.

      > so they have made the decision to not enforce their own rules of conduct for now at least

Which is their right and the president/government shouldn’t be telling them how to enforce their own rules, especially when that entails the government voicing a desire for first amendment rights to be limited.

      >The players can claim all they want that they’re protesting police brutality and “social injustice”, but in the end all they are doing is disrespecting the symbols that represent the nation and all of its citizens.

Yeah. ‘Disrespecting’ it…in order to protest police brutality. That’s kind of the point.

      > My interpretation of it all is that they’re just virtue-signaling.

And what are you basing that assumption on? How do you know what’s in their heads? How do you know they aren’t doing more that you don’t get to see, like volunteering their time and money to the causes they’re protesting for? Do you *know*, or do you just *feel* like you know?

Sorry Tomi, but people who support Donald Trump don’t get to question other peoples’ patriotism. People like you are literally the antithesis of what America is supposed to stand for.

I’m gonna give a very conservative estimate and say that only about 90% of the views on Tomi’s video were to laugh at her/masturbate to her.

It’s probably higher than that, but I know the snowflakes on the right get triggered if you’re too critical of them.

Edited: Originally I said, ” “Over payed black athletes “, she actually said that…and that’s not enough to get her fired, again? That’s a racist statement. Why are the players black AND white overpayed but not the “owners “? Owners…what a name huh ?”…this statement was not true, she said “whiny” . I stand corrected.

    • Posted by Enrique Valencia, at Reply

Yak T.Ripper Where did you hear that? No where did she mention “black” athletes. Please don’t go spreading lies.

Taking down websites that incite and/or encourage violence from both sides…YES, I agree with that. Taking websites down because they have a different opinion than you, NO! Having statues of those who were TRAITORS TO AMERICA standing in front of government buildings and flags of those who were TRAITORS TO AMERICA waving in front of and/or on top of government buildings…NO! It’s part of history, so put them in a museum like the rest of the historical artifacts.

    • Posted by Ron Porter, at Reply

Umm…who were those that ran down counter protesters with his car, killing one of them? Who were the ones in Charleston armed with guns and shouting racist remarks and surrounding churches with torches with an aggressive posture? I’m sure you know but don’t want to admit it…it was the right wing.

As for hating the flag, I’m a vet from a family of vets going back to my Grandfather in WWII, and I have no problem with the protests. This country started with a protest. Men and women of all races and beliefs have served and died for EVERYONE OF US to have the right to protest, even if it is against our own. You guys on the right run behind the flag and the troops because your scared of talking about and facing WHY the protest came about in the first place. I don’t see you moving that damn fast for the vets out here homeless or committing suicide because they can’t get the help they need. But don’t get up in arms…the establishment “left” is moving at the same pace you are when it comes to this as well. Now who’s hating the flag that gives you liberty?

As far as that bakery with the whole gay wedding thing. I don’t believe in discrimination of any kind. So, let’s see how you react if/when a couple gets denied service for being Christian. I hope you have the same response in favor of that store owner.

Mid40’s Gamer lol, and your side has done worse…like linching, racial bias, terrorist attacks…it just shows how fear mongering from the right has no real intelligeable talking points…just quoting what trump says.

Don’t assume my side is right just because I disagree with your statement. Both sides have their loonies and questionable pasts.
