Brian William's job is to sell you are afraid and battle. Always. Enjoy the whole Aggressive Progressive episode below:

" THE MEDIA IS CURRENTLY filled with headings about North Korea's missile test on Friday, which demonstrated that its ICBMs could have the ability to reach the continental U.S. Exactly what isn't really pointed out in any of these tales is just how we got to this point– specifically, what Dan Coats, President Donald Trump's supervisor of nationwide intelligence, discussed last week at the Aspen Security Discussion forum.

North Korea's 33-year-old authoritarian Kim Jong-un is not crazy, stated Coats. As a matter of fact, he has "some rationale backing his actions" pertaining to the country's nuclear tools. That rationale is the means the U.S. has demonstrated that North Korea have to keep them to make certain "survival for his regimen, survival for his nation."

Kim, inning accordance with Coats, "has actually viewed, I believe, what has occurred worldwide about countries that possess nuclear abilities as well as the take advantage of they have actually and seen that having the nuclear card in your pocket leads to a lot of deterrence capacity." Specifically, "The lessons that we learned from Libya surrendering its nukes … is, regrettably: If you had nukes, never provide up. If you do not have them, get them."" *.

the looney progressive left really just doesn’t care about any threat that exists outside of the U.S. borders, not Iran, not North Korea, not a single Muslim terrorist group. they just don’t care

  2. Posted by soccerguy325, at Reply

So according to Jimmy Dore, reporting on the North Korean crisis and the very real possibility of war is baseless fear-mongering. Jimmy lets his emotional bias against the establishment blind him from fairly criticizing them sometimes.

    • Posted by soccerguy325, at Reply

+Paradox Actually, I remember when Cenk read that report, and I wondered why it said that the missiles would land in the waters AWAY from Guam, instead of actually hitting the island. Is it like a semi-attack that’s like a very strong warning instead of an actually harmful one? I don’t know, but it always sounded strange to me, and no one actually clarified that or pointed it out.

    • Posted by shahid kalimur, at Reply

Hop Sing well, whitey DOES hate ALL ‘cloured people'(whites get pale when they are sick, blue when their choking, red when they’re drunk but somehow melanated people are the ‘coloured’ ones-I never understood that. lol) have all those genocides under his belt and the most hate groups so I guess they have a right to be scared.

    • Posted by ropisfun, at Reply

shahid kalimur You don’t know much history if you think all of those are white people things… Have you not heard of the Rwandan Genocide or the Armenian Genocide, for example? You’re also only counting hate groups in a majority white country, so of course most of the hate groups are going to be mostly white… most of the _population_ is white. Dumbass. In other breaking news: Most hate groups in Africa are black, most hate groups in china are Asian, and most hate groups in Mexico are Mexican. Great work there Sherlock.

    • Posted by Listenbuddy1, at Reply

Notice the little tyrant has toned it down since one little tantrum after Trump grabbed his collar. Trump is handling him perfectly and his huge jump in the polls reflects that.

    • Posted by sdkeller72, at Reply

So be afraid of Trump not of North Korea. North Korea will NEVER commit an offensive act. Quit listening to the media bait you into supporting another war out of fear.

  7. Posted by Vamphaery, at Reply

I’m not afraid of North Korea, because they aren’t suicidal.

I’m afraid our own actions and remarks and ineptitude will lead to miscalculation by creating a scenario in which DPRK assesses that there is no longer a path to de-escalation and they have “nothing to lose.”

    • Posted by pogo575, at Reply

Exactly. Best way to deal with DPRK is to get Russia and China to cut them off…. not try to make them think we are going to be attacking them any hour. The scariest thing is that Japan and SK are probably going to pay the price for Trumps childish responses.

    • Posted by Vamphaery, at Reply

@ Ace It would be more accurate to say I fear a potential future state that we haven’t quite reached yet, than to say I’m not afraid at all.

I’ll be afraid of the egomaniac that is Kim, when it becomes clear they have nothing to lose and are willing to risk the destruction of their regime just to spite us. We’re not at that point… yet. But we may be inching toward it. I’m afraid of that *future state.*

As for the semantics of what to call them… alright, call them North Korea, call them DPRK, call them Little Caezar’s Pizzaria, I don’t particularly care. My point and position remains the same: if we create a scenario wherein there is no path to de-escalation, and they assess that we are imminently going to remove their regime, then suicide on their part becomes a viable tactic.

And that’s when we need to worry. The point is… we currently still have the time, power, leverage, and capacity to prevent that outcome… if we’re wise.

In related news: Is TYT ready to admit that Russia didn’t hack the DNC? New reports now show it was a leak, not a hack as the lamestream media claims. Just like North Korea, it is just scaremongering.

It’s amazing to me to see Jimmy Dore still bloviating away. After watching his debate with Sam Seder last September and his continuing dismissal of the Russian/Trump connections I would’ve thought he’d have been excused from his duties due to extended, overheated excursions into idiot land. What’s he complaining about now? MSNBC exhorting us to war? They are actually trying to present information that will inspire people to do everything they can to avoid war which would include getting rid of the orange idiot in the White House. And not only war, but the widespread havoc that Trump and his Republican enablers are wreaking on the country that is so truly horrifying. The Russian story which Dore and others have dismissed is not an artificial concoction of Hillary or the DNC. It is a naturally occurring offshoot of Trump’s past and present activities and perhaps the best, most tangible means of perhaps ridding us of this self obsessed horror of a president. The Russian story may not only take down this clown but also permanently mark the Republican party with the stain of corrupt, anti-American incompetence that they so richly deserve. Everything that is important to most of us on the left, including healthcare for all, affordable education, civil rights, etc., etc., will benefit from the unmasking of the whole Republican machine as co-opters of Russian attempts to influence American elections, regardless of whether or not it can be shown that there was direct swaying of the American electorate in 2016. Republicans are much more bold and pernicious in their extreme use of gerrymandering and their shameless strategies of voter suppression than the Russians could be. But the Russians are more than happy to help with much more subtle means of “brainwashing” via fake news and supporting any efforts by fringe political entities that engage in overheated rhetoric based too often on personal bias and distorted narratives. Jimmy Dore’s snark-laden smugness might be entertaining if it was based on solid ground but instead has the same ring as Trump’s boasting of what a genius he is and as such, is just as painfully embarrassing to watch. Trump is NOT a genius and neither is Jimmy Dore.

” dismissal of the Russian/Trump connections ” Looks like he was right. Humble pie much?

    • Posted by Luke Nutkicker, at Reply

tritone inversion He never denied a connection between Trump and Russia. Oligarchs span of influence are not limited to their current geographical locations What he does deny, and rightfully so, is the claim that Russia hacked the DNC servers, providing it to WikiLeaks. There has been no evidence presented to support that claim. Inversely, there is evidence pointing to the opposite.

John Morris Your opinion on dore is not only valid, it’s what most democrats think of him. When the status quo is the only thing we have left to fight for, it’s hard to tear it down. I, as a progressive, find myself asking if we push this “purity test” for progressivism to hard. I then realize that our platform is the future of this country and we should never stop fighting the status quo. There are truth to his words. He gives us the news in an authentic funny sincere way that I admire. At the end of the day, At least he’s not Chris Hayes or Joy Anne Ried!!

Nethidon P No he said that Trump would fracture the right and show they don’t actually have a plan. He also noted trump would put an ugly face on the same policies we’ve been doing for decades, and people would be activated, give more resistance to him and protest. In regards to the dems I don’t think he said the left would be united..

Jesus Christ, guarantee if HRC where President we would not be here. Period. This Idea that HRC’s foreign policy would be “fire and Fury” is absolutely laughable. NO Dem. has had that kind of FP. Muscular does not equal Fire and Fire for Christ’s sake. All they do on Aggressive progressive is basically say HRC would be just as bad! HRC would be just as bad! When they have to know that is pure nonsense. This show is a non stop defense of them not voting HRC..

    • Posted by Johnny Shanksalot, at Reply

Yeah, because a war against Russia (which is the world’s largest nuclear power) and a war with a 2 bit 3rd world paper tiger like North Korea are totally the same thing. This is a minor crisis, HRC’s WW3 for dollars is the literal apocalypse, there’s absolutely zero comparison.

    • Posted by Vlad Vick, at Reply
