Dan Rather came from a generation of real journalists. The mainstream media of today is a pathetic joke beholden only to the establishment.

Dan Rather is a journalistic legend. His presence on a news network like TYT says a lot about the (true) state of our union – and TYT’s journalistic integrity.

I only pray that Trump supporters are hit the hardest. That’s bad but they need a freakin wake up call.

Agree. Unbelievable the hold he has on them. I’m sure it’s a little bit of their pride too.

Susie G, I completely agree with you, it’s sad that the non-trump supporters will suffer, but his base need to feel his anti-middle class policies. Hopefully some of his cult memo will start to somewhat come back to reality.

America’s worship of capitalism will be it’s inevitable destruction.
Capitalism without regulation is just a license to steal from tax payers.

And Republicans will also be voted out in droves in 2018 and 2020. So it’s kind of funny to see them slowly destroy themselves for no reason other than to please donors.

    • Posted by billy the dead, at Reply

Trump and his cronies have no right no right to do this to people. Can anyone stop this other than the Trump.

  15. Posted by Patricia Legend, at Reply

Leave Medicaid alone. Take from the rich and leave the poor alone.

  16. Posted by Christian Roman, at Reply

Republicans love the poorly educated, but they hate the poor.

    • Posted by Erlyk Dalkien, at Reply

They love the poor!! ………..to fight wars for their interests.

  17. Posted by get gud, at Reply

The great elitist fallacy, being poor can be worked off. Ask every iron worker in India, every sweat shop worker in Thailand and everyone in Retail how their double jobs and 10+ hour days keeps them from being poor. IT DOESN’T!

    • Posted by Eusunt Dac, at Reply

Just so many people buying into the myth that poor people are lazy, or that they like to be on social assistance (on which one can barely live), or that somehow money will trickle down on them … it’s insane, the misinformation and propaganda that the right-wing nutcases are putting out.

  18. Posted by Stephen R, at Reply

I’m a 54 year old man with heart disease in Indiana on the Healthy Indiana Plan (H.I.P), and I’m beginning to understand what it must have felt like to be a Jew in 1930’s Germany … but I’m an American in America. So when do we break out the bulldozers and start digging pits for those who can no longer contribute to society? Better wake up people!

Harsh … best of Luck to You!

    • Posted by calichef1962, at Reply

Stephen R- I’m a Californian woman, about your age, and disabled. If they take my disability and my Medicaid, MediCal in California, I’m literally dead. I won’t even get the luxury of one of those Republican fever-dream ACA “death panels.” At least if I had a death panel they’d have to look me in the eye and tell me why they want me dead.

    • Posted by Llynnyia, at Reply

I am a california woman -30 years old disabled due to a condition called CRPS, I am still fighting for disability payments all i have is foodstamps, charity, and the ACA to live on if they take the ACA all my medical costs will leave me bedbound again. I will pray for those ‘death pannels’ before that happens again. but this is what we get for not sicking up for our fellow man. Remember stand up for everyone the immigrant, the LGBTQ , everyone, because where will they be when you need them to stand for you?

  19. Posted by chryz., at Reply

As a broke college student with multiple chronic illnesses. This is so sad to see…it actually hurts. I can just get my parents to pay for my health care because they obviuosly don’t want to see me die or get any sicker ….but that would break their wallets to an extent. & what about all those who don’t have that advantage? I live in the south in a state where minimum wage hasn’t raised in years, but the price for everything has. How do they expect people to survive or get help when needed? This will just create more unpaid medical bills and inevitably many deaths. I just….can’t deal with this bullshit circus anymore.

    • Posted by Mitjitsu, at Reply

The question you should be asking yourself is WHY healthcare is so expensive.

    • Posted by kennedy crouch, at Reply

Mitjitsu we already know the answer to the questions. we need solutions now.

  20. Posted by mocki rangne, at Reply

But we have “earned” it by paying our taxes all those years before we became poor Seniors, poor disabled people or children! Most people with Medicaid belong in those Groups from the stats I’ve seen!
