Business lobbyists are never ever on the side of individuals, also when they're backing Democrats. Cenk Uygur, host of The Young Turks, breaks it down. Inform us just what you assume in the remark section below.

" AFTER PRESIDENT DONALD Trump's dismayed election triumph, Autonomous insiders who serviced Hillary Clinton's failed governmental proposal just weren't necessarily relegated to the sidelines. Lots of, in fact, are cashing in as lobbyists– by functioning to progress Trump's schedule.

Lobbying records reveal that some Autonomous charity events, who increased document amounts of project cash money for Clinton, are now kept by leading telecom interests to help reverse the solid web neutrality defenses established throughout the Obama administration.

Others are working with part of for-profit jails on detention concerns, while others still are paid to assist corporate interests pushing along with Trump to compromise monetary policies. At the very least one prominent Clinton backer is benefiting a medical insurance business on an arrangement that was consisted of in your house Republican politician costs to gut the Affordable Treatment Act." *.

America should attempt to do what Canada did for campaign contributions: Not allow corporate campaign contributions, only allow private donations…. this way political parties are funded by the people not big business….

    • Posted by InfectedByEli, at Reply

Darth, except that isn’t even remotely true. That’s why the Republicans are falling over themselves trying to make it fail, because it’s not failing on its own.

we have a constitutional right to rebel and abolish the government if it isnt tolerant its proven more and more to not be tolerant can we overhaul the government now and start from scratch?

    • Posted by Chris M, at Reply

+WWZenaDo – Considering some interpretations of the Bill of Rights is that the right to bear arms is in part to prevent tyrannical government, I’d say your statement is correct.

  7. Posted by Y2K, at Reply

The destruction of net neutrality is a blatant violation of the 1st amendment. In every way. Let that sink in — there are politicians who were *elected into office* who are intentionally destroying the freedom of the press, expression, and speech.

    • Posted by Y2K, at Reply

steal threaded Yeah, and as if that wasn’t bad enough they’re also tearing down the 4th (right to privacy) and 14th (equal protection under the law) amendments. I wonder where all the “Constitutionalists” went?

    • Posted by James Smith, at Reply

Free speech is only in context to government suppression. The amendment only makes it illegal for the GOVERNMENT to silence free speech, like barring cameras from White House briefings for example. A corporation is under no such obligation, and can do whatever it wants, including throttle or cut off your internet. You have NO protection against a non-governmental entity, like a for profit corporation, eliminating your access to free speech. A corporation can shut you down just because it wants to, but if the government tried to do it, that would be a violation of your constitutional rights.
      It is a common misunderstanding.

    • Posted by Y2K, at Reply

James Smith I understand that, but the government would be the body passing the legislation allowing the corporations to suppress speech on the internet. Therefore, by proxy, the government is infringing on free speech.

    • Posted by James Smith, at Reply

I agree with your sentiments, but lack of action is not suppression. And in this case, the government is simply rolling back protection for consumers, or buyers of a private service, not taking active steps to stop people fromspeaking. If the government owned an ISP company, you might have a case.

    • Posted by Y2K, at Reply

James Smith My point was more that when the internet started, it was already pretty free and open. In this instance, maybe to make myself a little more clear, I’ll compare it to a town hall/public forum being opened up for anyone to enter and then later passing legislation to allow fines/fees/whatever. Kind of a hard point to explain, but they’re definitely not simply allowing this through inaction. They’re (corporatists are) actively trying to pass this legislation, whereas if they left net neutrality alone (i.e. if they didn’t act) then the internet would be fine.

Cenk don’t tell me you’re surprised. You endorsed the biggest swamp ever to exist in humanity; Hillary Clinton. You should know a thing or two about lobbyists. Ironically you were very critical and defensive against Jill Steins during the interview. You are a liar. You are no different from CNN, Fox News, Alex Jones, etc You’re all bought out by special interest. coughGeorgeSoroscoughAlJazeeracoughQatarcough

Sigh… again and again they expressed how they reluctantly supported Hillary because they didn’t want Trump to win. They criticized the hell out of Hillary and were pretty pissed when Bernie was cheated out of the Democratic candidacy. Please take a moment to look through their other videos to at least understand why someone would dejectedly decide to back Hillary. I just don’t get how you can say this when they criticize her relentlessly. Or maybe you just conveniently forget about that.

bobby the Russia thing is about Trump’s campaign team and members of his administration and yes, there is plenty of evidence of unreported contact and some indication of potential criminal activity and treason. Plus plenty of lies told under oath by people who should have known better and people working as foreign agents without declaring it. Then you have a President who is known to have financed part of his business via the Russians because the American banks wouldn’t lend him any more money. Who sold a mansion he never lived in to the Russians for something like 100% profit within 2 years of buying it (he has admitted this). Who is rumoured to owe the Russians $300m. We don’t know what exactly is going on with Trump and the Russians which is why his ties to them have to be investigated. In many ways he is more vulnerable to compromise than Flynn was and if Trump has been compromised that is dangerous for the whole world, not just America. At this point the length of the investigation is irrelevant. Watergate went on for years.

Ultimately, if Trump hasn’t done anything wrong he will be fine.

+Shining Star a speculation you say? So just like with Russia collusion?

    • Posted by Shining Star, at Reply

+Da bear Smiggins And yet his step-daughter isn’t part of the investigation yet? How would Bernie have known about it unless he and Jane spent a lot of time pouring over paperwork together?
It’s also strategic that this is coming up a year before Bernie’s re-election.
They’ll try to replace him with a Republican or Centrist Democrat, both of which will take money from superPACs and represent their wealthy donors, not their constituents. If people in Vermont are dumb enough to fall for candidates taking part in ‘legal fraud’ then so be it.

    • Posted by Cheryl Simser, at Reply
