Did Airline Force Woman To Flush Pet?

Belen Aldecosea is asserting Spirit Airlines compelled her to purge her animal hamster out of the plane's commode. Cenk Uygur, Ana Kasparian, as well as Mark Thompson, the hosts of The Young Turks, describe. Inform us just what you believe in the remark area listed below.

Find out more right here:

" The legal representative for a trainee that claimed Spirit Airlines informed her to purge her emotional-support hamster down the bathroom claimed she's still troubled over the incident however has a replacement rodent for convenience.

Belen Aldecosea's account of her flight in November from Baltimore to South Florida– which has gone viral on social media– came as airlines fight with plans concerning comfort animals on trips.

Aldecosea's attorney, Adam Goodman, recognized there isn't audio or video clip evidence showing a Spirit worker suggesting she flush her hamster.

" It's hard, yet you really have to take a look at the scenarios due to the fact that this entire point just makes sense with someone informing her to (flush the pet). … This is a situation where there just weren't body cameras or anything," Goodman told USA TODAY.

Aldecosea, 21, a Texas State University student living in Philadelphia at the time, booked the flight from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Flight terminal to her home in South Florida."

She did not care about the Hamster to be able to do that..i highly doubt they forced her to do that smhh I understand she is 21 maybe she panicked not knowing what to do ,but I somehow doubt it..she sucks for that

purplepassion1 That’s what i thought when I watched this. I don’t know anyone who would do such a thing. It doesn’t sound right to me. These airlines undoubtedly do shitty things all the time, but I have my doubts about her claim, especially since she killed the animal, without, it seems, much thought or duress and replaced it with another animal soon after. I’d be devastated if I lost one of my animals and wouldn’t be cool eith just replacing my pet a couple of days later. Maybe I’m being judgy, but her actions don’t make sense to me.

Emotional support pet? WTF? This is a thing? Only in America.

probably smuggling hamsters on uranus airlines.

They didnt FORCE her to do anything. Sickening unnecessary cruelty. What a sick mind would flush a living creature down the toilet on the ‘suggestion’ of another?

    • Posted by awarenessvillage, at Reply

naejin I agree. She’s young and with the growth…it isn’t right to judge her. We weren’t there. Maybe her fear about the growth and missing her appointment???

    • Posted by awarenessvillage, at Reply

naejin It’s a horrible situation all around.

    • Posted by LiverSpottedHunk, at Reply

naejin Brilliant logic. I confess – the only way to not bring a pet on a plane is to kill it. Not like RSPCA’s ecist in America.
I don’t need to be in her position to understand what she did was the wrong thing to do. She killed a Hamster in one of the worst ways possible – drowning it in a whirl pool of polluted water. If you can sit back and say that is ok – I can only hope that you have little to no contact with animals in your day to day life.

    • Posted by LiverSpottedHunk, at Reply

awarenessvillage She’s young? What? Her age doesn’t prevent her from having empathy or understanding of the suffering caused by drowning a mammal in waste water.
You wouldn’t be ok with a 10 year old torturing a dog cause and justifying it under the oretence that they were scared and ‘young’.

  5. Posted by Theugly Sirmadame, at Reply

She is the monster… She killed her own hamster!

  6. Posted by bridge4, at Reply

Wtf. Flushing a mammal down a toilet?? How is this really remotely acceptable to anyone involved???? I’m speechless…

  7. Posted by nomadlyn, at Reply

I’m sorry but this is bs, even if they did tell her to do that she made a choice. She has no one to blame but herself.
She doesn’t deserve an emotional support animal.

  8. Posted by flyingrabbit, at Reply

The girl who flushed should be held responsible for cruelty to animals and the person who advised her to flush it.

    • Posted by Zissou Moonshot, at Reply

First she’d have to prove in a court of law that someone advised her to flush it, which is impossible. She could have found someone at the airport on arriving flight to take her pet and deliver it to her house, I am fairly sure.

If you need comfort on a plane, spare your poor animal the trauma (because it is highly stressful for most). Those tiny little baby vodkas work great! Or better yet, go see a psychiatrist who will happily give you a script for a small quality of benzodiazepines is whenever you’re planning to travel. Your inability to be apart from a pet suggest that really should see a psych.

    • Posted by Talon Shadowhawk, at Reply

Randy H my shrink will NOT prescribe benzos at all to anyone under any circumstance.

  10. Posted by thistubeisfucked, at Reply

Pebbles obviously wasn’t that important to her emotional stability then.

    • Posted by TigerMeadows, at Reply

The growth would have killed her otherwise.

    • Posted by thistubeisfucked, at Reply

She was flying to attend a medical appointment, not life saving emergency surgery. So no, no it wouldn’t have.

  11. Posted by Derek Cheney, at Reply

    animal cruelty anyone ?

    • Posted by LittleLulubee, at Reply

      She should be charged

  12. Posted by Mike Carter, at Reply

I don’t know…it seems quiet unrealistic that those would be the choices given. It’s even more unrealistic that the woman couldn’t think of other solutions, like calling a friend to come get the hamster and keep it for her until she returns. I smell a rat.

    • Posted by Andrew Feazelle, at Reply

She was getting on the plane right then. To her that plane ticket was probably expensive and she couldn’t afford to get another one or miss her appointment.

  13. Posted by Ally Moy, at Reply

Is her emotional issue the fact she’s a torturous murderer?

    • Posted by fairy princess, at Reply

yep. she is evil and she needs to be jail for animal cruelty.

    • Posted by 1kparmar, at Reply

Ally Moy Well, just be glad she didn’t water board the Hamster first.

  14. Posted by elfefiore, at Reply

Its true, if a mouse got killed nobody would care. Most of us eat animals muliple times a day, or their byproducts and fund the industry that for example grinds baby chicks alive. What happened to this hamster is awful and we should think again how we treat other living beings, in all aspects of life. The animal doesnt care if its considered a pet or food, its just as scared to die and theres no humain way to kill something that wants to live.

    • Posted by jibbo123, at Reply

elfefiore Killing animals is part of life. How do lions and tigers survive? They kill. Humans kill for food too. Get over it baby.

    • Posted by elfefiore, at Reply

what “elements” exactly am I lacking as a vegan?

    • Posted by elfefiore, at Reply

How do elephants, rhinos, hippos, bisons, horses etc survive? They eat plantbased! I would like to meet a modern person who only eats meat that they slaughter, I dont know any. Mostly we just go into the supermarket and buy a lump of dead animal, not really the hunter lion spirit that I assume you aspire to have huh?

    • Posted by jibbo123, at Reply

elfefiore It doesn’t matter how we eat the meat. Bottom line is it’s what we were designed to do. We naturally eat meat just like many other animals. Some animals eat only plant based food while some others eat only meat based food. Humans eat both. Nothing wrong with eating meat

Animal abuse. If you disagree then you’re free to try to flush yourself down a toilet – head first, see how that works out…

  16. Posted by Emmy DIY, at Reply

I would have never. I am broke and young and even if I had to save years for a flight there is zero way I would flush my pet. It doesn’t matter who came up with the idea it’s disgusting.

  17. Posted by Jon Harvey, at Reply

I think she made it up. No way she was “forced” to flush a hamster ffs!

  18. Posted by Phyllis Steging, at Reply

Real Simple–get off the damn plane!!! I’ll be darn if I’d flush any pet of any kind down the toilet. The airline employees should have stopped her from taking actions like flushing the toilet or they should have prevented her from getting on the plane. There is something way wrong with this story and/or this person. Where is this animal? If she actually did this cruel action, then bring her up on animal abuse charges. If that was an emotional support animal I think I would keep it and find another way to travel. Ridiculous!!!!

    • Posted by Kaizen2011, at Reply

Phyllis Steging she had scheduled surgery so i presume the timeline is not that flexible

    • Posted by LittleLulubee, at Reply

      Doctor appts can be rescheduled

    • Posted by poofendorf, at Reply

She needed surgery so she had to be on the plane.
