Johnny the Boy ISIS and ISIL rose up after the war in Iraq. They are an offshoot of the Taliban (which was formulated after the US backed the Muhajadeen in the Arab Soviet war). When we kill civilians we give fuel to the fire that is islamic terrorism. In Iraq (a country that didn’t attack us) we killed minimum 200k civilians. Do you think, maybe, perhaps that had even a slight relation to what created the narrative that the west is ultimate evil in their eyes.

Trump to his credit has killed multiple isis fighters for example he killed roughly 94 fighters when he dropped the most powerful and expensive non-nuclear weapon we have. Now that’s 94 dead and gone terrorists right how many civilians could those terrorists have killed 200 possibly? In March the US and coalition forces are estimated to have killed 1,000 civilians (whether that is collateral damage is still up to interpretation considering trump said “we have to take out their families”). Do you think that maybe, when you approach those families as an ISIS recruiter, you may have some leverage against the west?

No matter how you slice it, we do comparable if not more killing of civilians when you compare it to isis. Iraq is a great example. So it’s a moot point to say we are helping the civilians when we kill them just as much if not more then ISIS. The difference is we don’t publicize it or make videos. A dead family is still a dead family when it’s with a drone or a machete.

During WW2 we were undoubtedly killing French, Italian, Dutch, Belgian, Norwegian, Danish and eventually German civilians while bombing the Nazi war machine, likewise New Guinean, Filipino, Chinese, Burmese, Vietnamese and Thai civilians, eventually Japanese civilians in the bombing of the military and war making ability of Japan. Should we have refrained from doing so and allowed those militaries free reign to conquer or continue to occupy land they had over run? Should we have allowed the death camps to run unimpeded?

    • Posted by Lisa Mcguire, at Reply

Yet it’s the 20 somethings they are recruiting. Let’s see what did the US do in the 80’s and ever since? Bomb, kill, bomb kill. They grew up with loss after loss. Family members dead, friends dead. USA clearly marked on fighter jets that dropped them. So try again.

That’s what happens when Americans keep voting in Lawyers to represent them. Lawyers go to school for years to learn how to LIE their best for those who PAY them the most. Stop voting in Liewyers, vote in real scientists and humanitarians and problems will be solved instead of exacerbated for the profits of their donors.

    • Posted by Patriot 1776, at Reply

Michelle R nobody has the right to shoot innocent people on either side. If a cop kills a regular law abiding citizen just for reaching for his wallet, than that cop deserves to pay for it, get locked up for a very very long time. But if a thug pulls a gun on a cop and tries to shoot him because the cop interrupted him in his criminal activity, then the thug deserves to die for it.

@Alemayehu Solomon, you’re right, they wouldn’t be shot if they were black. They would just be savagely beaten, sprayed with mace and tazed. Then they’d be carried out of the building for resisting arrest and assaulting an officer, possibly destruction of police property if they bleed on the uniforms.

Excuse my mistake I was born in 1967 and my father had his first massive heart attack in 1977, which they never told him or any of his family, that it was a massive heart attack. It was just a heart attack, according to them.

My biggest issue is this: If the police know that what are they doing is wrong, why don’t the police themselves make a stand by saying “no”, they won’t comply and suggest a BETTER solution? Oh wait. Many Police officer don’t care and the ones that do care end up losing their jobs.

The police is the problem much as the government.

    • Posted by Keith Brooks, at Reply

Or they get demoted to police office work, not patrolling the street’s.

    • Posted by Galactus, at Reply

they have sworn into duty and they have families to support. for it to work you would have to have the whole department protest, but in this case the whole department was there carrying this out.

    • Posted by generationofswine, at Reply

EAprima Because they love terrorizing people and their favorite victim is one who can’t fight back. That’s why they became police officers.

As a congenitally disabled American who already owes a lot to the efforts of ADAPT, I couldn’t be prouder of these protesters. One thing that gets repeatedly missed in these stories is that many of these protesters are, like myself, *congenitally* disabled. We were born this way… with conditions that are incurable, and that require expensive equipment, medication, and support in order for us to live independently. We didn’t choose this. We didn’t behave irresponsibly. We didn’t even get sick. We were born and we had the temerity to survive, and through hard won legislation and protests, my generation was the first of its kind to have the right to be educated alongside our peers where appropriate. Trumpcare means my education is for naught and I get to go live in a nursing home. Trumpcare means I may no longer have access to someone who can repair my (ten year old) wheelchair. Trumpcare means, in the end, an early death for me and people like me, because “cure” isn’t on the table for us… We are who we are, and this is the hand we’ve got, and we’ve found our voices now, so all we can do… for ourselves, but also for those who come after us and in honor of those who paved the way before us – is to raise those voices, and hope to be heard – not just as “elderly” or “sick” people, but as 20 and 30 something congenitally disabled Americans who are proud of who we are, how we are, and how far we have come, and who want the right to exist with dignity in our own country.
