Sign the petition telling Donald Trump to put people in his cabinet who haven’t given him piles of cash. Cenk Uygur, host of The Young Turks, breaks it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.

"Trump’s nominee for commerce secretary is industrialist Wilbur Ross, who has amassed a fortune of $2.5 billion through decades at the helm of Rothschild’s bankruptcy practice and his own investment firm, according to Forbes.

Ross’ would-be deputy at the Commerce Department, Todd Ricketts, is the son of a billionaire and the co-owner of the Chicago Cubs. Steven Mnuchin, who Trump named to head the Treasury Department, is a former Goldman Sachs executive, hedge fund executive and Hollywood financier.

Betsy DeVos, a Michigan billionaire who was named as Trump’s education secretary, is the daughter-in-law of Richard DeVos, the co-founder of Amway. Her family has a net worth of $5.1 billion, according to Forbes. Elaine Chao, the choice for transportation secretary, is the daughter of a shipping magnate.

It is a group that has long spent big to influence politics. Mnuchin, Ross and DeVos each made hundreds of thousands of dollars of political contributions within the last two years, according to OpenSecrets.org. In Ross’ Manhattan office, next to a window overlooking Central Park, there is a table filled with pictures of Ross with candidates to whom he has contributed, including John A. Boehner, Michael Bloomberg and Bill Clinton.”*

no i’m totally right. how would i be wrong?

    • Posted by A Rogue Chihuahua, at Reply

+Edward Bernayse666 You’d be wrong by claiming that there is something
wrong with campaign donors sitting on the cabinet. That was a promise he
made after all, to appoint those who show the most interest in fixing
things to his cabinet. The donors showed interest through how much money
they put up for his campaign. Why should he now go back on his word just
because you don’t like the way he operates?

what if you or me won the lottery or were trust fund babies? what if we
funneled in a few mil to trump and talked with him about potential cabinet
positions? would that qualify us to run a cabinet post? what if we had
some experience but we had another alternative agenda and that was to help
my business at the expense of my competitors and their employees? what if
i hated people and only wanted the cabinet position to screw everybody over
for a laugh? what if the cabinet position was about forming or solidifying
monopolies and eliminating newcomers and smaller businesses? what if i had
so much money that i was able to hire lawyers to write tax bills that made
me exempt from paying taxes and made the poor and middle classes pay my
share? what if i put so much money in a politicians account that i was now
writing his speeches and and telling him how to vote on things? what if i
was so selfish that i took kickbacks and promised future lucrative
positions in the company of my bribers in exchange to turn a blind eye to
some highly immoral and illegal activities? what if i grew so powerful
that i could dictate to the POTUS whether or not we should invade a country
for their oil and strategic location and get them all to do it later
on.what if i made friends with rich people like me who went the route of
buying up the media? what if the media started forming alliances with
politicians and started to protect them rather than investigate them?what
if i was able to get an SEC position for the sole purpose of turning a
blind eye for my corrupt buddies in wall st so that they could continue to
rip people off and crash the economy? i can go on for 10x longer but i’m
getting tired. do you at least get my point though?

“What specifically did they want”?. Silicon
      Valley, Hollywood and Billionaire Meredith
Burak all KNEW they would be paying so
much *higher* in taxes you daft goof. Again
FOURTH time, “What did they WANT???”
You won’t answer this because that honest
answer’s “a better country where the wage
Gap Crushing The Middle Class is closing”
Instead, they went for the guy increasing it

    • Posted by AboveasBelow, at Reply

Can you give me a link to where it shows Donald Trump’s donors want to
malevolently crush the middle class, expand the wage gap, and destroy the
      economy?

What is it they specifically want that you can factually link me to that
proves they have terrible intentions? They worked at a major bank? They are
billionaires? So are some of Bernie’s backers as I’ve just proven to you.

Do I need to go all the way back to my earlier post “there are vast
amounts of economists business people and everyday americans who believe
the road to a better economy is deregulation and lowering taxes.”

You see it as self-serving and cannot possibly imagine that these policies
strengthen economies so how is it self serving if someone is genuinely
backing him to strengthen the economy? You have nothing to *prove* this
traditional school of economics is malevolent (again Us strongest economy
in the world) and that the socialist school of economics (and those who
      back it) are benevolent.

+Rbrace great way to view the world. “We are best, anyone who disagrees,
      leave”

I think North-Korea has a slightly similar approach to things. Just that
“leave” is not an option. they substituted it with “die”…

    • Posted by Rbrace, at Reply

Atheist dodo I voted for Trump, but I have been a huge Ted Cruz supporter
since before the election. The reason I never left the U.S. during Obama’s
years is because there isn’t another country that allows citizen’s nearly
as many gun rights, allows a business to be started and grow as easy, has a
free market healthcare system, has a well respected powerful military, and
many other freedoms that aren’t in other countries. There are many other
countries that have the types of government that the left is looking for,
so it isn’t that hard for them to move. America is the only country left of
it’s kind and I will fight to keep it that way, I won’t ever move because
sadly, there isn’t anywhere else for conservitives to go.

    • Posted by liquidminds, at Reply

+Rbrace Choose almost any country in Africa… In regards to gun-rights,
the absolutely 100% free option to take care of your own health-care and by
far the lowest costs for workers with least health and environmental
regulations. In many of them you can even bribe politicians as you please.

Pretty much any 3rd world country would be a conservative dream…

    • Posted by Atheist dodo, at Reply

And I respect your point of view. You do realize that a lot of democrats
are feeling the same way you felt when Obama won but I’m guessing no one
asked you to leave just because you were’nt happy then. I think it is
insulting for you to say that to those on the opposing side who probably
love their country as much as you do.

PS : Thank you for a direct and honest answer. I got so used to being
shouted insults at on youtube that I was afraid that this was going to turn
      into an insult fight.

    • Posted by tasmand wd, at Reply

yeah! the costs of a worker in Africa is the price of a bullet ! makes it
hard to compete with a country that shoots their child slave workers in the
back of the head if they try to run ! so big companies can sell smartphones
with better margin in the west!

    • Posted by DarwiN, at Reply

Of course not. That would kinda mean they were dead wrong for voting for
this ego-maniacal con artist. And they are not capable of admitting they
were wrong, otherwise they would not be Trump supporters in the first
place.. Instead, they will look for “facts” in their alternative universe
and continue to make their own reality..

    • Posted by nthnpark0, at Reply

+serfincolorado That’s true. Conservatives seem to have a much harder time
admitting they were wrong than progressives do. And don’t forget that a lot
of Trump voters didn’t even want it to be known that they were voting for
Trump, which is why the polls got it so wrong in thinking that Hillary
would win the electoral votes. I agree that whoever you vote for is your
business and not anybody else’s business, but in hindsight, the fact that
so many Trump voters were ashamed about voting for Trump like it was some
big secret should have been a bad sign. Those people should not complain
about taking their screwing because they wanted it.

Alright, but that’s what their show is, and they choose to focus on
      progressive ideas alone.
If you don’t like it then don’t watch it.
What I’m trying to understand are the voices like yours that come here and
      instigate and insult.

Not everyone here in the YT comment section is deaf to other opinions, but
if you insult everyone right off the bat you cut off most opportunities to
hear other voices. So I ask, what’s your point? How is your aggressive
bullying any different from TYT’s bullying?

If you want to hear my opinion, I don’t think TYT is bullying, they
certainly have their own bubble, but they’re at least honest about it. Yeah
they can be loud and opinionated, but I don’t see how that’s any different
from other stations, and I don’t see how that’s necessarily bad. I don’t
agree with every opinion TYT has but I’m willing to hear it out.
