An Australian teenager was struck by a mystical sea creature. Cenk Uygur and also Ana Kasparian, the hosts of The Young Turks, tell you concerning these sea fleas. Tell us exactly what you think in the remark section listed below.

" Mysterious sea animals that began eating a young adult's legs in Australia were recognized as "sea fleas" on Monday.

The incident happened near Melbourne on Saturday, when 16-year-old Sam Kanizay emerged from an evening dip in the sea with his legs and also feet covered in blood, the outcome of the considerable hunger of the carnivorous small animals.

Unable to walk, the young adult was given a hospital suffering from "pin-sized holes" that were bleeding profusely."

TheKijib hate to tell you but ‘sea fleas’ are not unique to Australia but are found all over the world, they’re scavengers & clean up dead or rotting fish so are an important part of the ecosystem!

Impressive, I have been watching you guys for years and finally a news story about my local town! I think the dad stood in the water with some red meat to attract these scary creatures and get the sample. Honestly tho, I’ve swam in those waters for the last 20 years and never experienced anything like that whatsoever.

    • Posted by Jere w, at Reply

the seas are getting warmer more eggs will hatch at once mean less food as populations grow out of control meaning either become opportunistic eaters or starve

  11. Posted by Kevin Montrond, at Reply

Hopefully global warming doesn’t allow them to migrate more north. I guess as long as it doesn’t pass Florida everything will be alright.

The weird part is they look nothing like sea lice but I like one commenter’s answer that the ice caps are melting and are letting out Prehistoric bugs thus these creatures appearing out of the blue we have no idea what is frozen in that ice and for all we know this is the result of the ice caps melting

    • Posted by Kitty S, at Reply

jordi grant Lol. You have been watching too much of Ice Age animation movie 🙄

    • Posted by jeff kennedy, at Reply

      that’s scary stuff

    • Posted by Anon Anon, at Reply

TheDevilsgreen It depends on whether these certain prehistoric insects / animals could survive being frozen and unfrozen . Unlike humans , which flesh starts piercing through when cells are frozen , some insects could survive being frozen . Even for humans, there had been cases of humans being temporarily frozen and unfrozen , being alive and having no permanent damage. However , it is extremely unlikely that the insects came from North Pole or the glaciers . They would have no reasons being there ( Australia ) if they were acclimated to the cold climate which they were once ” living in ” .

They say the boy may of been standing on or been very near a dead fish carcass that these sea fleas were feeding on, plus he stood in the same spot for a prolonged amount of time. This is an extremely rare case.

    • Posted by Tina Cother, at Reply

Caseys9420 he was also taking blood thinners which made him bleed more. Maybe he had a foot fungus? 😂

You gave us a trigger warning for something this minor?
A little blood is nothing to fret over.

    • Posted by Petalflipper, at Reply

You didn’t “grow up”, you just have a better tolerance for something than some people do. That’s it. Not everyone fits into your little “grown up” category. Some people have no problems with blood (Myself included really, though I’m not sure if I saw real legitimate blood everywhere that I’d do as well), others are super sensitive to it and they can’t really help it at all. It has nothing to do with “growing up”.

    • Posted by Donald Trump, at Reply

Petalflipper omg I’m so triggered by the liquid inside my own body!! I need a trigger warning !

    • Posted by JMT, at Reply

Donald Trump. It’s a psychological condition dickhead, I wouldn’t expect a Trumptard to understand the concept of Phobias and how they are just attributed to us naturally, some people are scared of holes, some of large Birds, some of snakes and OBVIOUSLY some of blood.

    • Posted by sagely Demonologist, at Reply

      Key point “phobia”.
It’s an irrational, disproportionate response to the sight of blood.
I’m not saying discomfort is bad here; it’s the level of response that would require a warning that concerns me.
This really is just a little blood, most people will be all “oh my gosh what happened, is he okay?”. But most people wouldn’t need warning because that’s all they’d do (outside of try getting help, but since this is a youtube video we can’t do that part).

    • Posted by Sebastian George, at Reply

when you are bad with blod and gore maybe you shouldn’t watch the video “Flesh Eating Sea Bugs Now A Thing”, but well everything that could came now would be insults ^^.
