      “can’t read” Gary, “can’t read”.

    • Posted by hangukhiphop, at Reply

Their voters don’t read, either. Perfect representation!

    • Posted by james smith, at Reply

So how will you socialists pass any laws if you have to read everything?

    • Posted by Blair Schirmerx, at Reply

+Gary Turbo No, it’s that THEY DON’T CARE. They know full well this will murder 21,000 Americans, at a minimum, in order to hand another tax cut to people already so wealthy they won’t even notice the money. This is murder for profit. Contract killing by professional politicians on behalf of the wealthiest people in the country.

Aren’t we paying these people to actually READ legislation????

    • Posted by Listenbuddy1, at Reply

As Pelosi said about NuttyCare, “We have to pass it to find out what’s in it”.

    • Posted by Raze Fan, at Reply

They haven’t for a long time, it’s pretty common. In Michael moores 9/11 documentary one congressman says “we don’t read most of the bills”. One time Bernie even brought an entire stack of papers onto the stage to rant about how the bill was getting passed during the middle of the night before anyone could read it.

    • Posted by james smith, at Reply

If they had to read everything nothing would ever get passed. I would like that btw but would you socialist Bernie supporters like that?

  5. Posted by Jamie Cox, at Reply

Paul Ryan is an A1 hypocrite. because when Obama was president he said it’s un-American to pass ANY new laws or legislation without first reading or understanding it. So what does he do? enters new healthcare legislation without first making sure it was read by all whom were responsible for passing the bill!

to be fair, Paul Ryan is the same politician that was critical of trump and said he would NEVER support Trump! now he’s trumps biggest fan!

Saddest part is, Jimmy Kimmel cares more about American lives than the “reps” we elected for public office.

    • Posted by Jim is the man, at Reply

Why is Colbert the only one willing to point out Republican idiocy? Should the Democrats be doing that?

  8. Posted by wesley ogilvie, at Reply

Too busy reading their paycheck from the healthcare companies.

    • Posted by Raze Fan, at Reply

Well actually a lot of healthcare companies supported Obamacare because it actually gave them more money, insurance companies are the ones in this case who hate Obamacare and paid him.

Ben is absolutely wrong on this one. This is their job. They are paid to understand this bullshit political jargon. If they don’t understand it, go work for Wendy’s, you’re not qualified to do the job you have.

Delegation is an important aspect of government. These people cannot possibly read every single word of every single bill and understand every single aspect.

    • Posted by I Swear I'm Not a Troll, at Reply

They’re not your representatives, they’re your rulers. You guarantee them the job for the term limit and the pay that goes along with it. Would you expect any employee to work hard it they had a guaranteed 2-4 year contract with absolutely no supervision? No, they’re going to do whatever they want because you’ve already paid them for the job years in advance! We don’t control them, they control us. They’re rulers, not representatives!

    • Posted by lukus black, at Reply

For exactly one important issue. I couldn’t figure out if it was McDonalds, or MacDonalds, deleted and replaced the ‘a’ a few times, and decided on Wendy’s…

    • Posted by lukus black, at Reply

Actually, I’ve agreed with him on quite a bit. Of course, if you’re right, that would make me wrong about everything. lol

    • Posted by lukus black, at Reply

Sure, not every single bill can be read by each person. However, the major bills, like nationwide healthcare that effects every citizen pretty strongly, deserves some study, don’t you think?

  10. Posted by Should've picked Hillary, at Reply

It’s truly ridiculous. Republicans have proven that they care more about there party and Trump then the people whom they represent. Lets not lose this anger, we vote next year and THEY WILL PAY!

    • Posted by Logan Jewkes, at Reply

      should of picked Bernie

    • Posted by MrInuhanyou123, at Reply

Your screename is completely ironic considering not picking Bernie was one of the worst mistakes the Dem party made. They only cared about their party and who they anointed because of how much money she raised from big banks and corporate entities. The GOP are much worse, but the Dems also represent this system of big money and are paid to not represent the people. both parties should be cleansed

    • Posted by Logan Jewkes, at Reply

MrInuhanyou123 couldn’t agree with you more!

  11. Posted by OwnMyCreations, at Reply

If you don’t read the bills then wtf are you doing in the government, get out.

    • Posted by OwnMyCreations, at Reply

This shouldn’t be a job for the money, it should be for people that actually want to help make the US a better place. Why is this happening, makes me sick

    • Posted by Derek Watson, at Reply

You’re asking for a total removal of all congressmen and women.

    • Posted by Malcolm Sprott, at Reply

Derek why not if they are not doing their job and I do not mean for their donor’s

    • Posted by Derek Watson, at Reply

      +Malcolm Sprott
I didn’t protest. Just noting this is an issue for both sides.

  12. Posted by Shan Baker, at Reply

Seems like Ana is in the right here. It should be up to the politicians to read every single word even if they are too stupid to understand it. When I was in school I don’t remember being able to pass, or agree or disagree on anything if I hadn’t done my home work.

When a doctor gets a new patient with a long medical history, that doctor needs to read the damned thing.

    • Posted by Rachel Schmied, at Reply

Ben is usually on the incrementalist weak establishment Democrat side

  13. Posted by Kenneth Gray, at Reply

These people don’t seem to care that their decisions will kill many people.
