Republican Congressman Tim Murphy think abortion is dreadful … for everybody however him. Ana Kasparian, Brett Erlich, and also Aida Rodriguez, the hosts of The Young Turks, tell you why he's a substantial hypocrite. Inform us what you think in the remark section below. Sign up with TYT:

" In a move that will decrease in the record of Washington as "foreseeable," the staunchly pro-life Rep. Tim Murphy might be pro-life when it involves his voting document; today, he enacted favor of the House's 20-week abortion ban. However he isn't exactly pro-life when it comes to his own individual quest of consequence-free adulterous sex.

The Pennsylvania Republican politician's "no abortions with the exception of my mistress" stance was disclosed today, when the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette successfully unsealed the divorce procedures of Shannon Edwards, the formerly wed lady with which Murphy was having an affair until just recently. Murphy confessed to the affair in September. Edwards, a forensic psycho therapist– it's all so Shondaland!– exchanged messages with Murphy earlier this year where she indicated that the anti-abortion lawmaker had actually directly motivated her to have an abortion throughout a maternity scare.

In response to an anti-abortion message on the Congressman's Facebook web page in January, Edwards texted, "And also you have no issue uploading your pro-life position when you had no issue asking me to abort our unborn child simply recently when we believed that was just one of the choices."
In response, Murphy disavowed the social media sites messages, associating them to his team. "I review them and winced," he wrote."

Conservatives once again have no grounds whatsoever to lecture anyone about morality even from the stance of the religion they profess to follow.

The Pro-lifers are simply religious fanatics obsessed with suffering, their twisted views on sex in general an imposing misery for what they deem “sinful behavior”. It alllllllllll ties back to a perverted religious fascination with punishing people the religion deems “bad”.

I told you! I said it many times before. These guys that say: “OH, I’m Pro-Life”!! (all of a sudden, they have an unwanted child on the way from a 1-2 night stand) Now they shout: “I only wanted to know her for 18 minutes, NOT 18 years …& now I’ll have all these child support payments”!

Listen, this limiting abortions crap is NOT going to work. Look at the quality of life all around us…shootings all the time, vehicles being used to run over people everywhere, planes being flown into buildings…all done by MEN. Yet and still these men want to tell females they MUST keep a kid because of: 1) More than likely, she’ll be left alone to *try to raise* the kid(s), or 2) The world that she lives in is safe, loving, fair & just, has the best of healthcare, food, wages, schools…you name it.

No female that cares about a kid would want to bring one into a world, such as it is, at this point in time.

And anti-gay conservatives get caught with young men and boys. Conservatives are hypocrites everyone knows this.

Ana Person There are bad people that are liberals as well. One of them just killed 59 people. But that’s beside the point.
None of this changes the fact that tearing a baby limb from limb that can possibly feel the pain is barbaric and wrong.

Jenny Eddins that was a lane attempt at deflecting the obvious…Clown no Democrat would ever own 47 fire arms… and my 16 year would know that… Not even a nice try idiot!!!

Anyone who thinks late term abortions are recreational or people want them to be recreational. You are beyond stupid

I don’t agree with getting an abortion after twenty weeks, but it also isn’t my body. NO ONE SHOULD BE MAKING DECISIONS FOR OTHER PEOPLE’S BODYS!

I have no problem with abortion after 20 weeks. Some tests can only be administered in the 2nd trimester/later in the pregnancy. That’s when women who were expecting a normal pregnancy and a happy baby are hit with the horrific news that 1) they could die and/or 2) they’re baby is never going to make it.

Late term abortions should never be played like political football. By this point, that happy couple have already started buying things for their baby. It’s a tragic event. It requires more than one doctor to sign off on the abortion. When strangers with their religious or other beliefs impose themselves into that very personal tragedy, they are defiling that personal family tragedy. Abortion should be between a woman and her doctor. No gods, no men (unless invited), no politicians, no non-medical staff, and definitely no strangers should be part of that very serious and extremely personal decision.

The sad thing is that in this day and age, we are still discussing whether women have a right to their own bodies.

Why is the right so afraid of women?

    • Posted by SpeakDahTruth, at Reply

Brie Stoll we’re not afraid of them. We just hate them

    • Posted by Jennifer Hunter, at Reply

It comes down to property rights. No matter how much they may act as if they consider women to be human beings, their words and actions show that they consider women to be property. If they can’t control (own) women, then they don’t feel safe.

Shouldn’t this politician exile himself from society to amend for his “murder” or “attempted murder” of his love-child/ love-fetus? I mean, if he really believes abortion is murder, then he believes himself to be at the very least an attempted murderer. Shouldn’t he immediately quit his job and voluntarily exile himself to a monastery to atone to his Magical Invisible Imaginary-Friend In The Sky?

so these congressmen can bang hookers and mistresses if they happen to get pregnant they can force them to get an abortion and throw them into jail to hide the fact that these bible holding hypocrites won’t be in the midst of a scandal.

Republicans right to life begins at conception and ends a birth.

  15. Posted by Laurette Cangialosi, at Reply

This is a non-issue. Republicans have made it an issue. No woman chooses to have a late term abortion unless it’s rape, incest, health of mother, etc. The Republicans need to keep dangling red meat in front of their rabid base. This way the abortion topic is always there. Pro-lifers are only pro-lifers until the baby is born. After that, they want to cut all funding for Medicaid and any social programs that would help raise the child. No food stamps, medical, Head Start, free or reduced breakfast and lunch in schools, after school programs, etc. They just want to impose their skewed beliefs on others. How about this? Stop interfering in other people’s lives that don’t fit your agenda.

+ Laurette. Don’t forget how many of them also support the continued use of the death penalty.

“The Republicans need to keep dangling red meat in front of their rabid base.” That was beautiful, and so true. This is not the first time Republicans have been caught doing or exercising something they were vehemently against. There is at least another case of a Republican pushing his mistress have an abortion. It’s interesting how close Republican values and beliefs, when put in practice, would decay our economy and social resources and revert us back to third world living (not that there’s anything wrong with living in third world countries, my parents are from those places BUT they certainly don’t want to relive those stresses in the US. Those people LIVE the Republican ideal; limited access to healthcare and government help, abortion is illegal, access to birth control is just as limited, more churches than clinics, etc). Do Republicans not think about the social and economic stress outlawing abortion would bring, on top of cutting programs that support those who have children they shouldn’t and probably didn’t want? The poverty rate would SPIKE.

I’m so sick of this phoney abortion debate. Unwanted pregnancies are a fact of life, they are going to happen for all kinds of reasons. Plus every country on this planet that criminalized abortion ended up with more dead babies and mothers from unsafe abortions, not less. Republicans sure do love wasting public time and money on this.

  17. Posted by Fiona Kotziampasi, at Reply

It has absolutely nothing to do with protecting life; it is all about CONTROL and trying to keep the poor poor as the wealthy will always find a way!!!!!!
