"Pocahontas is a real individual. It's not a caricature, it's not a person that's just comprised. TYT doesn’t report the Libya modern slave trade of African Migrants, because they know that it was a US democratic government who destroyed Libya. Black Africans are being sold in open-air slave markets, that was caused by Hilary Clinton.Libya has been in chaos since NATO-backed forces overthrew long-serving ruler Col. Moammar Gadhafi in October 2011. George W. Bush in 2003, the United States negotiated an agreement with Libyan leader Gadhafi. The deal was that Gadhafi would give up his weapons of mass destruction peacefully, and the USA wouldn’t try to depose him.

The Obama administration didn’t stick to the dealli. Instead, in an operation led by Hilary Clinton, the United States went ahead and toppled Gadhafi anyway. As a result, Libya exploded into chaos and civil war, and refugees flooded Europe. Hilary Clinton thought it was a great triumph during an interview she was laughing saying “We came, we saw, he died,” she joked about Gadhafi’s overthrow. Libya, before Clinton got involved, was comparatively stable and no strategic threat to the United States or its allies. Now it’s a shambles, with people literally being sold in slave markets. I’m a big fan of TYT but they need to report this and show that they’re unbiaised and hold democrats or republicans government accountable for thier screw ups.

Please people spread the word and force TYT to report this. TYT has millions of viewers and they can help to educate the people with the problems of why a foreign country will not up their weapons of mass destructions to avoid chaos like in Libya. Libya has lots of oil. America was able to get that oil for free now that Libya is in chaos and there’s no resistance against the USA to take the oil and natural gas.

Francis Tervil, also, if you want to talk about modern day slavery. Everyone who buys fish, unless its completely local, is supporting slavery. The Fishing industry is the biggest cause of modern day slavery and about 20% of all fish caught is caught by illegal fishing boots that tend to use slaves, and there is no seal of approval so far that can guarantee that there is no fish from illegal fishing in the product, as far as I know.

Let’s not give Bush a pass, he got Gadaffi to disarm while he was in office knowing full well Clinton and Obama would decimate his country..

Francis Tervil why don’t you stop complaining and whining like a little twat and start your own channel okay?

    • Posted by Dan Sanger, at Reply

Your complaint is kind of rich considering Republicans started a war with Iraq over imaginary WMDs, and want to tear up a deal with Iran that stopped their WMD program.

Only slightly. Let’s focus on the real issues, please.

You people are the reason that people don’t take the left seriously.

Identity politics is the reason why trump won.

Why do you guys expect to happen after throwing a fit over this? Is that narcissistic man baby going to apologize? What is the end game of focusing on identity politics? As long as you focus on identity politics trump will have all the distractions be needs to increase drone strikes and ignore the humanitarian crisis in Yemen that the US is just allowing to happen.

There are real issues to focus on. It’s like you fools have never seen a distraction.

    • Posted by Lauren Brown, at Reply

I agree that identity politics are a problem, but people of color are the first to suffer in a bad economy. They were the first to lose their homes in the housing crisis, and this is just one example. Many people of color join the military, because they can’t afford to pay for college on their own. It’s also an effort to go the extra mile and gain the respect that white people automatically get. When you mock them, you keep them in a place of inferiority and in a place where they are less likely to get hired, buy the house in a safe neighborhood, pay more in taxes, open a small business, spend more in markets, etc.

I know race is often used as a pawn and a distraction, but these comments are important to stand up to. The president should not use language like this, because he represents all Americans and he has an influence on how others see their fellow Americans. I understand your frustration. I really do, but white supremacy does affect markets and equal opportunities for all Americans.

The most dangerous part is the divisiveness. It’s easier to pit groups against each other when we’re all poor, because we go into survival mode and become tribalistic. If Natives can’t trust whites, and whites think Natives are inferior, how does that help in the hands of trade and exchange? Natives think whites are born with a silver spoon; whites think Natives get opportunities handed to them through affirmative action. It’s important to discern “vote for me because I’m a woman” vs. a mockery of an entire group of Americans who don’t look like you or the people you play golf with.

The crime here is the fake Indian “Elizabeth Warren”.

    • Posted by Courtney Haynes, at Reply

maya L , no, she wants to be president she doesn’t have to clear this up. You know why? Because the only people who give a crap are people who won’t vote for anyways. She knows from the birth certificate Fiasco that even if she offers some type of proof people will think it’s a fake. People have even created their own word for it: fake news. But this only proves the Republicans don’t really care about the issues and only care about harping up things to distract.

    • Posted by maya L, at Reply

Courtney Haynes – We have to talk about Elizabeth Warren because that’s what the video is about: Is Trump calling Elizabeth Warren “Pocahontas” racist? And the answer to that question is bound up with the question of Elizabeth Warren’s claim to be of Native American descent.

But don’t say that Republicans can’t debate real issues: we certainly can. And please don’t confuse honest, dissenting Republicans here with the alt-right, hateful, ignorant trolls who occupy the TYT comments section just as one shouldn’t mistake honest Democrats for the hateful, irrational leftie trolls who occupy the TYT comments section.

And finally … yeah … Trump’s behavior is almost always indefensible, including at that ceremony that was intended to honor the Navajo WWII veterans.

    • Posted by Pace Yrself, at Reply

What crime did she commit? She listed her Native American heritage on a bio. There is no evidence she used it illegally in any way. Her family told her she was part NA. Maybe it wasn’t wise of a fair skinned blonde woman to bring up that part of her family but there was no crime. She is fighting for the American People and the Oligarchs don’t like that. If this is all they have on her, its pretty pitiful.

Genology have traced Warren’s family tree and found he can legitimately claim 1/32 native american heritage, conferring her statement in her Harvard professorial bio. However when she entroaled at community collage to get her law degree she did fill the form in as “white” she’s only ever claimed her’s proud of the small amount she can claim

    • Posted by burtosis, at Reply

Give it a rest people, until recently there was no way to know. My family supposedly had the same situation, I was supposed to be 1/32 native (of some sort). Family records show this beyond a reasonable doubt. However, upon genetic testing, it looks like they weren’t Native American but instead roughly half north Asian and the rest ?? It’s even possible they didn’t know where they came from. I never claimed it on a form but if someone had asked me a few years ago I would have said “probably 1/32 Native American”

George – On the water, he only got bitchslapped for that because he publicly made fun of Ted Cruz for the way he drank water during a speech. Why is it OK when Trump does it, but becomes a big deal when the left makes fun of him for doing something that he previously mocked?

Mike Layton “She never claimed to be NA but says she has NA ancestors and don’t I claim to be human?”

Do you see the irony in that statement. Essentially she’s claiming to descend from a NA. Then by comparison you ask if I claim to be human which further acknowledges that she was claiming to be something (NA).

Anyhow, the point is she’s Not NA nor descends from any NA to my knowledge. That is why Trump is making fun of her. It’s called sarcasm.

Using a famous American native’s name as an insult is certainly racist. Like referring to an African American as Kunta-Kinte. Nothing is innately wrong with either name but the manner in which it is used is very disrespectful. I’m surprised Trump didn’t say “How!”
