Dustin Hoffman was very upset that John Oliver didn’t get his consent to ask him about the sexual assault allegations against him.

      Irony.

Thats why as a general rule i dont watch interviews or panels. 98% of the discussions are predictable and yield little new information. Unless of course someone does what Olivier did. Bravo oliver, the whole media should do what he did on a daily basis.

I like watching John Oliver. He is a straight forward, common sense, take no prisoners host.

How so? Because you obviously don’t like Oliver, it doesn’t necessarily mean people who do are retards. And the fact that you use such an offensive term to up sell your opinion makes your whole statement lacking in cognitive reasoning. There’s no need to insult people you don’t know just so you can somehow feel superior. In other words, put the shoe on the other foot and see how you’d like it.

John Oliver has attacked Bernie Sanders and the left-wing part of DNC repeatedly, so why Anna “loves John Oliver” is strange to say the least …….

    • Posted by Julius, at Reply

I actually don’t recall Oliver ever attacking Bernie Sanders. Can you link me a source of what you’re referring to?

    • Posted by Nadja K, at Reply

Oliver mocks everyone and everything including himself and therefore is one of the best comedians around. He is not or only to a certain limit biased by his own beliefs when chosing a topic or person to make fun of.

    • Posted by TheGerbold, at Reply

He talked about Jill Stein (Which might me a left wing Progessive or something) for like 3-4 minutes in a Segment about third Party Candidates.
      /watch?v=k3O01EfM5fU
He also had a Segment on the Primary, which might also be where he talked about Sanders.

      Nothing else I found.

John Smith yeah caring about the state of humanity is just such a downer, you’re right.

    • Posted by The Neo-Epicurean, at Reply

John Oliver should be in charge of some sort of global justice court. Fix the world up. He’s obviously way ahead of me, all I heard was two 40 year old versions of some insignificant encounter, but John could clearly see it was a straight up case of abuse and Hoffman should be found guilty and publicly flogged. He’s amazing!

    • Posted by JblueT, at Reply

Another Lesbian Channel Leftists don’t care about the state of humanity. If they cared they would want to close the borders and deport immigrants.

I checked guys. Anna Graham is not an anagram for anything.

  9. Posted by CADPgamer, at Reply

Trevor Noah once asked, “When is the right time for black people to protest?” The topics Noah and Oliver brought up are completely unrelated to each other, but the one thing they have in common is the fact that they’re often shrugged off.

Wasn’t too big of a fan of Oliver’s when he started bashing Bernie supporters but I think I’ll give him another try now that he’s done something like this.

    • Posted by MrVeggie247, at Reply

Cassie Reno What did it cost him to do this?
Isn’t it just a publicity stunt in the end?
I’ll never forget, and i’ll never forgive.
I will remain unsubscribed from John Oliver forever, and i loved that rather parrot like man with a passion!

    • Posted by Greg Dobson, at Reply

MrVeggie247 Agreed. This little publicity stunt doesn’t detract from the fact he’s still a corporate shill

You can’t grab women without consent, men need to understand this.

    • Posted by Mitch G, at Reply

Tell that to the guy in the white house.

    • Posted by 100philosopher, at Reply

But when you’re famous, they let you do it. The President of the United States told me so. And I actually believe the most powerful man in the world. Famous people play by different rules.

What about the heat of the moment and the woman is into it, Then later says she was raped. How do we get around that?

    • Posted by manco82, at Reply

Why did she only come out 40 years later? Because this is the first time in 40 years where she wasn’t afraid to speak out.

    • Posted by Nichole Hastings, at Reply

its just a fad, i got accused of being like harvey weinstein a month ago by a girl i saw in the summer.. .she called me a rapist yet also said she did consent because I was insistent..

    • Posted by pirbird14, at Reply

      Then you shouldn’t have insisted.

Nichole Hastings Exactly it’s just SJWs gone wild.

  14. Posted by Grant Fleming, at Reply

You absolutely can decide on the questions in this setting. This was an ambush.

    • Posted by Carth Canten, at Reply

Grant Fleming Maybe an ambush was necessary. If Hoffman ever expected to be asked this question, do you think he would just receive it?

Oliver cornered him here and sometimes people need to be cornered.

    • Posted by Grant Fleming, at Reply

Carth Canten does he need to be cornered? an allegation was Made he denied it. How does this change anything.

    • Posted by Grant Fleming, at Reply

Marlon Bryan Muñoz Núñez he replied to the allegations

    • Posted by Carth Canten, at Reply

Grant Fleming I agree that Oliver was most likely asking a hard question to boost his profile, or at least that was part of his intention. I also disagree with Oliver believing the accuser because “she has no reason to lie”. He should reserve judgement at least until there are more solid facts.

I don’t know anything about the allegations, so I’m definitely stating all this prematurely. But generally allegations should be taken seriously (maybe they weren’t taken seriously before), and media exposure encourages other victims, if they exist, to speak out. Then a new investigation can begin if it’s within the proper legal time frame. We reserve judgement until the investigation bears fruit, if it does.

So overall, I agree with Oliver raising the topic here, even if he didn’t do it in a completely fair way. It was fair of him to raise the question, but not fair of him to condemn the accused before an investigation is done.

    • Posted by Grant Fleming, at Reply

Carth Canten well I think we agree to a large extent with each other on the fairness of raising the issue though I do go on to disagree with the issue being raised in that setting or in the way that it was owing to the lack of journalistic value it holds .it was more an inquisition than an interview and wasn’t really useful.

Donald Crunk the evidence against Moore???? Have you not seen the year book he signed, the fact that the assistant DA was BANNED from the mall was known to people and many have come forward as witnesses but you obviously don’t believe them

    • Posted by David Seddon, at Reply

Donald Crunk. How do you know it is a forgery, I have not seen confirmation of this anywhere. Where did you get your info?

    • Posted by Ste H, at Reply

Donald Crunk – The only evidence against Moore is a forged signature? No, it isn’t the only evidence, there’s plenty, eg; Banned from a mall for his predatory nature toward underage girls, then there’s his defence against some of the allegations “I sought permission from their parents”.
      Back to you.

    • Posted by Erica Fitzgerald, at Reply

I think Franken and Moore need to be removed. This has to stop being a partisan thing.

    • Posted by R Smith, at Reply

      ThotKilla RIP Emmitt Till

    • Posted by Ste H, at Reply

Second Take – It can be difficult for women to come forward and speak of such things, victims of sexual harassment are never quite the same after their experience, the fear, anxiety, sense of betrayal, mistrust of others,…and many victims suffer recriminations and sometimes reprisals and all after being forced to relive what they’ve already been through. Some people seem overly comfortable with blaming the victims and defending the indefensible.

    • Posted by Ste H, at Reply

Jovani Paredes – I’d have gone with “Sarcastic tweets are forever, but sexual harassment has a 5 year use by date”, I still liked your comment though. 😄
