we’ll need a liveable wage and a universal income. but we won’t get it with the reps and corp dems

I remember a republican cuck saying we cant afford after school programs but we can afford 50 billion more towards war.

    • Posted by Nick Buckets, at Reply

Kevin Montrond why do you think that is?

    • Posted by AR Rains, at Reply

Universal income? Dream on with that bullshit. If you want an income, then work.

A fastfood ceo was stunned when raising minimum wage increased company profits. Turns out when people have money to spend they spend it.

that’s the best story you come up with a person who has multiple jobs a degree and is working on another one who owns a car and lives in an apartment? Why isn’t she using her degree to get a higher paying job?

it’s not about a salary it’s all about reality

The school board that I work for is moving to raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour. The plan is to bump up the low end wages over a period of four years. I earn $15 right now as a skilled HVAC tech. All it means to me is that the nonskilled employees will be earning the same or more than me. This move is nothing more than a communist redistribution of wealth.

no billion dollar or even 100 million dollar business should be paying their worker $7.25

    • Posted by DeJuan, at Reply

minimum wage should be based off business income. 7.25 at start up. then after a business hits a certain amount of sale a year they must! increase to $10 if income is within X range or $15 if within $XX range. this is the better minimum wage balance without screwing small business owners and big business paying their fare share, kinda like taxes.

    • Posted by ncfo20, at Reply

Why not? The only purpose of a business is to make as much profit as possible. That means keeping all operating costs to a minimum, including labor costs. A business is not some welfare system to ensure everyone gets taken care of.

    • Posted by Kevin Montrond, at Reply

@ncfo. As much profit for the ceo as possible while the workers suffer.

    • Posted by Scott, at Reply

+ncfo20 It’s still morally wrong to pay workers way below productivity. Especially since it leads to more turnover that leads to more training costs. And the fact that ppl with no money are going to remain at the lower end of the economic ladder permanently.

raising the minim wage will only cause people to lose their jobs

    • Posted by Timothy Judge, at Reply

Scott grown adults should not be working minimum wage jobs. BTW going straight to name calling doesn’t help your argument or getting people to accept your ideals.

  15. Posted by nemesis7884, at Reply

one potential problem with raising wages without additional measures might be that it just causes inlfation and leaves people where they were before

    • Posted by mikelon6343, at Reply

what are you talking about? inflation and printing more money has NEVER caused strife. Just look at Zimbabwe and…oh.

    • Posted by nemesis7884, at Reply

inflation is on the rise in the us tough…im not saying its only caused by wages, but it can lead to higher inflation…i don’t think its as simple as you say, yes the us is consumption driven and higher wages will protentially lead to higher consumption, but they will also increase the price of goods

If you’ve made the poor life decisions to be living off of minimum wage, then living off minimum wage isn’t the problem. You can easily live off of minimum wage.
