George Soros also gives to charities. Buffet and Bill Gates give way more to charity than the Kock brothers without wanting a political payoff.

The koch brothers love trump for destroying healthcare so they can make more money. He is doing his billionaire friends a huge favor.

    • Posted by Jami Rahkonen, at Reply

Ste H. Also to add to that. Greedy and greedier

    • Posted by Michael Weaver, at Reply

They don’t like Trump but like all manipulators they will take what they can get. They want huge tax cuts for themselves and they want government out out of health care entirely. The First thing Trump and the Kook (intentional miss-spell) brothers can both agree completely on. The second Trump seems to be somewhat conflicted. Trump promised no cuts to medicaid and that he would replace Obamacare with something that was going to be “great”. Trump also seems to have a very small sliver of humanity left in him and sees healthcare as vital to citizens even if he personally doesn’t want to pay for any of it. The Kook brothers would let you die in the gutter rather then be forced to pay for any of your health care.

Let’s just kill the Koch brothers, say what you want about the guy that shot scalise, but he was a true hero, he stood up for what he believed in and payed the ultimate price

    • Posted by Mythology Squirrel, at Reply

4th Reich – when you are going to be “hunted by death squads” either way…yeah, sort of useless to threaten those facing death with death.

That said, the shooting didn’t work. When demagogues are left alive they become “victims” even if their rhetoric and law orders the death of others. And they have security specifically to prevent such retaliation from working.

A less violent alternative: work to get into a position with others (as groups) where you can withdraw all support from these people. If the number of employed disappear, use of currency and centralized power is halted, and an alternative trade system is established, that will drive the corrupt elements of the economy to collapse.

Its not so much about being a hero. Its a result of Cause and Effect.
If people are being fucked for long enough, they will rebel. Lies, corruption, oppression, false promises. The list just goes on and on.
History proves this and it acts as a lesson to oppressors. Its sad that some people never learn and that balance is an outrageous thought because of greed and power.

The shooter shouldn’t be put on a piedestal because we dont want chaos. He should be used as an example of as the inevitable reaction of the masses when they’ve finally had enough.

The moment people have nothing left to lose, there is nothing stopping them.
Thats why I love Uwe Bolls Assault on Wallstreet. Because as controversial as that movie was, unrealistic… it was not.

And the fact that these oppressors live in their bubbles, is why more chaos will run rampant eventually and progress is years away.

Anyone who voted third party, or didn’t vote, has no right to complain now. We warned Bernie or Busters about how bad Trump would be. The response? They accused us of fear-mongering, and of being paid by the DNC. “Four years of Trump won’t be so bad”, “He’s just playing a role to get white votes, he’ll pivot once he’s in office”, “At least he can’t be bought by Wall Street, “At least he’s pro-LGTB”, “At least he doesn’t want to take people’s healthcare away”. These are all things Bernie or Busters said to me repeatedly before Election Day. How did all that turn out? The worst thing is you can’t get even one Bernie or Buster to admit they fucked up voting for Stein or Johnson, or not voting at all. Every time I put the simple question to them, “Wouldn’t it have been better if Hillary had won?”, they go into their “Bernie was robbed” spiel, and never answer the question.

    • Posted by judyleasugar97, at Reply

At least the problem is out in the open now. Something might get done to end this extortion now.

    • Posted by Mythology Squirrel, at Reply

I used it as a tactic: in “stable” states – the Republican Bible Belt, California, etc. – you can vote third party as a way to protest the two party system (as parties in complete dominance become numb to the people without competition) and vote your values.
If you’re a swing state, forget it. You’re stuck to the dominant parties.

    • Posted by Samantha Link, at Reply

Yes, in the face of proven corruption within the party, the only reasonable response is to vote for them. Eyeroll. DNC brought us Trump by ignoring their own base. #demexit

Taxation is the price you pay for living in a civilised society. Tax dollars are no longer *your* money. When will conservatives and libertarians get it?

    • Posted by Nate Hoffman, at Reply

They are practicing a bastardized version of communism just as much as we’re practicing a bastardized version of capitalism. The state still own 30 percent of all production in the economy, so I guess they are at least 30 percent communist, but by law, they can take anything from anybody because, technically, everything belongs to the state. It’s still also a command economy and the country still props up most new industry. Here’s what Ben Franklin says about taxes, property and the state. http://press-pubs.uchicago.edu/founders/documents/v1ch16s12.html I don’t believe this myth that the country was founded on capitalism.

    • Posted by Felix Daleth, at Reply

What share of the US GDP is contributed by government contractors and how command is public procurement?

    • Posted by ShihSnTz, at Reply

Which still isn’t communism, it’s a totalitarian regime that grew out of a communist revolution. The fact that legally they can seize property doesn’t make them communist, they would be only if they seized all private business. And economically speaking America is a capitalist country. Capitalism can be regulated and still remain capitalism, that’s whey there’s various qualifiers for capitalistic structures.

Now you could argue that China is socialist with qualifiers and have a point. Call it Chinese communism or whatever you like but it’s certainly not in the model espoused by Lenin or Marx.

And finally I agree, I’ve never said that America was based purely on capitalism. It’s always been a system blended between capitalism and socialism because that’s the most sustainable system.

that is the thinking of a trump supporter.

    • Posted by 1stfloorguy, at Reply

errai14 the sad truth. They really think the trickle down effect is working. All those billions printed increasing inflation is becouse the trickle down effect is actually in reverse. The new money floats to top where it sits in bank accounts so the rich can see who has the biggest wallet. The only thing the trumpsters wurry about is the colored guy next door making more money then them. They think he can’t possibly be a lawyer he has to be the best dressed looking drug dealer.
