In 2016 lead poisoning in Flint Michigan was a huge story. A recent investigation by Reuters found that it’s not just a problem in Michigan, it’s actually a huge problem throughout the United States. In some municipalities it’s worse than the situation we’ve seen in Flint. Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian of The Young Turks break it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.

On a sunny November afternoon in this historic city, birthplace of the Pony Express and death spot of Jesse James, Lauranda Mignery watched her son Kadin, 2, dig in their front yard. As he played, she scolded him for putting his fingers in his mouth.

In explanation, she pointed to the peeling paint on her old house. Kadin, she said, has been diagnosed with lead poisoning.

He has lots of company: Within 15 blocks of his house, at least 120 small children have been poisoned since 2010, making the neighborhood among the most toxic in Missouri, Reuters found as part of an analysis of childhood lead testing results across the country. In St. Joseph, even a local pediatrician’s children were poisoned.

    How about repainting the walls?

    • Posted by darksteel78, at Reply

It works for a while. But that doesn’t fix the lead in water issue. You’d
have to clean out/replace all of the pipes in every city at this point. Too
      expensive.

i was thinking the same thing, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s intentional.
Most likely a economic social mobility issue.

Emperors in china would drink mercury to become immortal. Lead in water
means immortality for everyone, not just Donald Trump and his lemon party.

    • Posted by Queen Cheng Of Mars, at Reply

Lead is a soft metal, what is mercury if not a super soft metal? Thus the
      two are interchangeable.

Hillary Clinton proposed about 120billion in infrastructure within 100
days. Don’t like Clinton, but we could have used that money.

Where was she 8 years ago? Ever hear the term, too little, too late?
By the way, she also proposed a no fly zone over Syria… So there you go.

Don’t be fooled by Trump’s infrastructure plan. From what we know so far,
instead of spending money outright it would offer tax breaks if companies
spend money on infrastructure. As with anything else Trump does, it’ll be a
    corporate giveaway and a scam.
