The Trump management is targeting an integral part of Obamacare. Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian, the hosts of The Young Turks, inform you exactly what's in their crosshairs. Inform us exactly what you believe in the remark section below.

" The Trump management is obviously preparing to upgrade Obamacare's contraception mandate, allegedly allowing any kind of company to seek a moral or religious exception from the requirement, inning accordance with a draft law acquired by Vox.

The Affordable Care Act requires nearly all employers to offer health insurance that covers accessibility to a broad array of contraceptive techniques. The draft proposition, if wrapped up, would substantially widen the kind of companies as well as organizations that could ask for an exception. This might result in several American females that presently receive no-cost contraception having to pay of pocket for their drug.

" It's just a very, very, extremely broad exemption for everybody," Tim Jost, a health and wellness legislation teacher at Washington and Lee College, informed Vox. "If you do not want to offer it, you don't need to provide it."

We ought to have studies done on a die hard Republican brain and a die hard Democrat brain and let’s know once and for all if there is a difference, I’m betting there is a fundamental difference between the two.

trump wants to take away birth control for women being covered under insurance if is goes against that companies religious views (so once again screw the separation of church and state yet again) but that should also mean Viagra should also no longer to be covered by insurance. because as an insurance company i can have religious issue with a guy having an unnatural boner

    • Posted by Andy garcia, at Reply

+advocatus diaboli please show me how this doesn’t have to do with separation or church and state

    • Posted by Nonune Konsequence, at Reply

Considering Christians are the only group screaming for this… The idea that it could be anything but a violation of Church and State separation is silly. It Literally is choosing One Religion over the rest of them and forcing several to follow the rules of One.

+amj09521 no they’re not you idiot government money cannot be used for abortions it’s against the law. This is about Trump giving the okay to insurance companies to not cover female contraceptives if it goes against their “religious views”.

How do the young turks fail to address the actual problem here? Religion cannot be a deck of off-the-hook hall passes. If some that claim to believe in an unobservable being are allowed freedoms that those who dont believe arent allowed, well There’s a name for that: Discrimination.

You have the freedom to believe, to go on your knees and mumble, to gather with other people in a building and sing songs, eat waffers, sniff the floor. You name it, but not because religion grants you that freedom. We all have those freedoms.

We must stop poking holes thru our rules so religion may sip through. If you gotta wear a helmet. You wear the damn helmet. If you must wear a uniform, you wear the damn uniform, if you are told by the law that you must provide healthcare, you provide it.

Anybody that thinks exceptions must be made for religious people about wearing uniforms, for acceptable headwear on photo ID’s is in one way or another endorsing what Donald trump is doing here

ok, let’s change the item from birth control to food. so let’s say you eat meat but your company strongly believes you should be vegan. so they are given the right to reduce your pay and punish you for not being vegan, even though it doesn’t affect company in any way. screw you opposition to access to female and familial health.

Lester Brunt I love the old ‘you should pay for it yourself’ argument. What the hell are insurance premiums and co-pays for? As a matter of fact we are paying for our health coverage and it should include medications a doctor sees fit to prescribe (especially common medications like birth control). If not, then insurance plans should cover no medications and everyone should be ‘free’ to purchase the medications they need on their own.

John O’Malley The only positive from this Presidency is that more people are getting informed about policies and politics. In the meantime, I am extremely concerned about what will happen in a few years if this President is still in office.

EweToo(b) IS THE MAJOR WAKE-UP CALL. Never before in human history have so many lived so abundantly and freely, with mass education, and NOW near-instant communication and a Shared Worldwide Experience. The Globalists planned this 100 years ago. The Spirit Circuits have also been restored, but most men are nearly deaf and blind, spiritually. 03/22/30 Or Sooner.

Liberal Nightmare #17. In year 5 of Trump’s Presidency, the Social Conservatives finally secure inalienable rights for their Unborn — and genetic engineering begins in earnest. Hello Ivankas and Donalds. This is possible because the Cabinet is merged into one Department of Government (DoG). This completely fools the dyslexic Evangelicals.

why is womens healthcare always debated by men who don’t have uterus like right wing republicans

    • Posted by Michael Dobbs, at Reply

+LordLux You don’t get to just demand private companies get force to give you things for free. It absolutely is asking for it for free, as they do not already cover it. If you don’t like that, go find another company that offers it. The government has no business telling them they are forced to cover birth control, something that is not even necessary.

“The issue is that old men seem to have the final say with what goes on with women’s bodies”
Yes, because women are asking the government to get involved. When you ask the government to make a law for something, you are inviting them to debate the issue. The government needs to vote on it, so of course old men are going to be deciding. If you don’t like that, the solution is quite simple, stop asking government to get involved.

White men are not asking blacks to get involved with our issues. That is not nearly the same thing. Making it law that insurance companies must pay for birth control will also affect government healthcare, which uses tax payer money, that gives everyone the right to discuss the issue, men included. It also affects insurance companies, and then paying for it. You don’t get to inconvenience everyone, and then say half the people don’t get a say because it isn’t their issue.

My position has nothing to do with religion. And I guarantee the politicians using religion as an excuse are just saying that for lip service. It has to do with the fact that tax money shouldn’t go towards irresponsible women that can’t be bothered to get their own contraceptives, and business owners should not have their freedom stripped and be forced to pay for it either. Birth control is not a necessity, it’s optional. So if women decide they want it, they can pay for it on their own.

“Why should I as a non-Christian be forced to adhere to the standards of a religion I don’t believe in?”
You aren’t. Separation if church and state applies only to the state, not the private sector.

“The founding fathers never intended a state-religion and it’s in the Constitution that there should be a clear separation of church and state.” You’re right, they were secularist and believed in freedom of religion. And they would be rolling in their grave if they knew that the state was taking away that freedom from private citizens and businesses that have zero to do with that state. Again, it applies only to the state, not the private sector. And in case you didn’t know, private health insurance companies are part of the private sector, not government.

I am not a conservative, and this has nothing to do with women’s bodies. They are free to get birth control if they want, and private health insurance companies are free to offer it in their plans if they want. Allowing private companies to choose not to offer it isn’t taking freedom away from women, it’s giving freedom to the business owner. You don’t get to demand free stuff and then claim it’s taking freedom away from people’s bodies if you say no.

    • Posted by FunWithReality, at Reply

+Kathryn Well youre right, thats how insurance SHOULD work, but unfortunately you’re missing the fact that progressives all push free health care (Obamacare) for all as mandatory by law with people forced in to buying plans they dont need to fund the rest.
      See how that works?

    • Posted by Mark Williams, at Reply

+FunWithReality Lets pick your little rants apart. Your first post specifically mentions birth control and makes a BIG GOVERNMENT whiney meme. The vid deals in many aspects of birth control but mostly the Pence Push to allow companies and private insurers new ways to discontinue BC coverage. No BIG GOVERNMENT there, little man, unless you count yet another Executive Order, one that specifically targets women.

In your second post-directed to me-you make the disingenuous claim that I implied you were some how for government mandates. Not what I addressed to you. I pointed out your post bears no relevance to the vid…which it still does not.

If you actually knew anything about healthcare you would know the Federal Government is heavily involved due to the FDA, Medicare/Medicade and my fav, the CDC. If you knew anything about healthcare you would know that Medicare has been putting the screws to hospitals to get them to reduce recidivism, better manage chronic illness, cut patient time in the ER and reduce opiate usage. The state I live is really coming hard after Dr’s on opiate scripts. If you knew what you were talking about on healthcare you would know those of us who work in it don’t really like the State and Feds getting up in our sh!t…but we trust the insurance companies and for profits much less. In short you would know providing healthcare, including birth control, isn’t some stupid meme banged out in capital letters. It’s life and death.

Whether you’re religious or not, whether you’re pro-choice or pro-life, birth control coverage is THE best way to prevent abortions, child abuse, higher entitlement spending, and higher crime rates that occur when unwanted kids grow up.
