Did you know that the Democratic party plans to raise taxes to 100% if they are elected?  It’s true.

I like this guy. I can’t stand the whiny small minded single thinking ego driven punk Issa.
*I hope Applegate buries Issa and humiliates him at the polls*
We need *someone like him to come up to our district and beat Feinstein this time around.*

We need Justice Democrats running for President. I don’t trust the current batch of Corporate Democrats.

    • Posted by Jo Pao, at Reply

I suspect you will have a progressive running for president… Bernie showed there was a lot of appeal for that.
Keep in mind that those “corporate democrats” are what keeps corporations paying taxes, keep them having to respect laws protecting the environment and so on. Remove them and corporations will be able to do whatever they want.

    • Posted by Jason Carpp, at Reply

I agree. I’m not against corporations if they’re willing to comply with the laws of the world. Unfortunately, under the current administration, they seem to be allowed to do whatever they damn well want to do. They need checks and balances. And so do the big banks. I’d vote for Bernie Sanders if he were to run again.

US republicans despise government (well, apart from gazillion big “defense” (lol) budgets, subsidies for crap energy and more generally, corruption and legislating what happens in bedrooms) and so it’s natural for them to have big oil in charge of foreign affairs, big polluters in charge of the EPA and the rest of the swamp in charge of finances.
I’m not American, but I would have no problem voting for Bernie… most of what he dreams of is already in place over here (free tuition, everybody having healthcare for cheap and so on). I see corporations as a necessary evil in our current economic paradigm… until someone articulates something I could believe in, I’ll stay that way… sadly any such changes would require a more globalized world… something despised by the left and the right currently, so no changes to expect there.
Without globalization, the left will remain hostage to extreme competition while the right will happily play the nationalist card… and we’ll get scammers pretending they have solutions to the problems of the working class, but it’s all bollocks. At least the left doesn’t aim to feed them to the sharks.

Cenk NY-27 should be another easy district to turn back blue, Chris Collins already has enough scandals with big-pharma to get him out

  8. Posted by WikeddTung, at Reply

Finally a Justice Democrat that I think can actually win

    • Posted by Matthew Dobbs, at Reply

WikeddTung yes he seems like a real person with relevant experience, rather than a desperate person standing only in protest. Dont get me wrong, I like the idea of the latter, a person that stands only on policy and in say the UK or Europe, they do find success, but in America all those things need to be ‘ packaged appealingly’. This guy looks the part, he is mature as well as being well qualified. I wish him success.

apples and gates for old style homesteads.. vote applegate..

  10. Posted by Jo Pao, at Reply

You should put his name in the title XD. It’s like making a commercial and forgetting to mention the name of the product.

Don’t start parading yet, the republicans will defend that seat because Issa has been useful to them for spreading nonsense and conducting witch hunts. This being said, would be great if Applegate wins… seems a decent and capable fellow with a real shot at winning. Also love that he understood why he got support late only when dems believed in his candidacy. Dems better get behind him this round because they have no excuses now. I do wonder what they meant about lemmings thrown in that race by dems… people get to put their name in the hat… heck, dems even accepted an independent for presidential nomination.

I do wonder why they ask for help from the dem party, knowing that the dem party gets donations by big donors which is anathema to such progressives… is the plan to let others do the dirty work, use the fruits of that work and then point the finger at them and call them corrupted? No means no, Cenk.

Anyway, congrats to Cenk for really going all the way and working to get progressives to run and vote, and not just for the presidential election like princesses (Bernie is no princess though… been walking that walk for decades).
