Is MSNBC dynamic? Take our poll at:

Lawrence O'Donnell is the second-highest ranked cable television information host, so why isn't MSNBC demanding to renew his agreement? Cenk Uygur, host of The Young Turks, breaks it down. Inform us exactly what you believe in the comment section listed below.

" Lawrence O'Donnell, host of MSNBC's "Latest thing," has just 4 weeks left in his agreement, and the cable network does not seem curious about renewing his deal. 4 well-placed resources inform HuffPost that MSNBC has actually not touched with O'Donnell's group of representatives to discuss a brand-new deal.

The lack of active settlements weeks prior to an agreement expires is highly uncommon as well as commonly an indicator that a contract will not be restored. Information networks generally do not take the chance of allowing the agreement of a host who has an extremely ranked program end or perhaps come close to running out prior to renegotiating. A short time-frame places the network at a calculated downside in talks, that's why cable television networks frequently start discussing revivals six to 9 months in advance of a contract ending.

A representative for NBC Information decreased to talk about "continuous arrangements." Although, several sources from within and also outside the network have actually informed HuffPost that no negotiations have actually happened." *.

I think Dan Rather is our generation’s Walter Cronkite.
That said, there’ll never be another Cronkite.

I know this was gonna happen when they hired Gretna Who’s Next Rachel ? ? Dumb Trump gave an order to get him fired, Lawrence is an very truthful honest person I hope they keep him on if they don’t screw MSNBC

Cenk is still salty about leaving MSNBC.

Vishank Jain-Sharma He has a smaller audience, makes less money, and his only impact so far has been massively negative. He’s helped make people so extreme they refuse to vote and no longer accept facts. Contributing to Trump winning and Republicans holding enough power to destroy democracy.

WolfPac I hope succeeds, but I doubt it. They’ve barely managed a few friendly states to sign on.

Justice Democrats has a total of one actual Democrat who won on his own before joining and is now demonized as “establishment” because he dares express support for Pelosi and the party. lmao

I’m sure Cenk is totally not bitter about MSNBC.

jo23bulls — Cenk left freely. They wanted to move him to another time slot & give him a huge raise but he said no.

      Shin Gozira,
lately I’m suspicious of Jimmy’s motives. Has anyone else noticed that? Cenk, is in the camp, I’m not taking a lot of his comments without thinking carefully about his motives as well.

    • Posted by Heisenberg-SchrodingerEmc2, at Reply

Apollo Sun Lawrence has described himself as a socialist you idiot. Of course hes a progressive. (And progressivism is NOT a monolith, its a continuum of leftist ideology starting from the ever elusive “center”)

    • Posted by Telma Elma, at Reply

Obviously you´ve never watched O´Donell. People like him could be a game changer, cause they are inside the system, look like them, talk like them, but their heart beats left. They could be more effective than obvious progressives, that´s why they are so scared of people like him.

    • Posted by M G, at Reply

Apollo Sun, you are obviously a troll, or completely ignorant.

  8. Posted by MaGarthur, at Reply

Fire Jimmy, Michael Tracey, and Jordan and use that money to hire Lawrence. Give him his own nightly show on TYT. You’d be more respected and I guarantee you views would go up. Hell I’d donate $100 if you needed more.

    • Posted by A1 Since Day1, at Reply

MaGarthur Keep Jordan and Jimmy tho.

    • Posted by Bloodstar6078, at Reply

Ashley Thomas – Just wanted to say even when TYT is just giving opinion or analysis on the work of others, they are still bringing that news to a wider audience. I don’t read every article I come across or visit a ton of websites every day. It helps to come here and see stories from several sources.

The analysis and panel type discussions are also great. You get the views if several different people (even if they all lean left politically). It’s much more informative then the “objective” reporting of corporate media, which basically means repeating whatever bullshit Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, Nancy Pelosi and others come up with.

    • Posted by Obi Wan Kenobi, at Reply

      LOOOOOOOLL

    • Posted by FungusMossGnosis, at Reply

Fire Jordan and TYT loses at least 80% of its journalistic integrity.

    • Posted by Bozo1360, at Reply

I would never watch TYT again if they did that. Views would plummet.

I can see where his argument is coming from. Uncle Tom meaning a black person who turns and exploits their own community and Rachel did support a candidate who wasn’t always pro lgbt, don’t think I buy it though, kinda a weak argument. She’s a corporate hack, pro establishment and pro workers getting fucked regardless of sexuality or gender.

I wonder what Rachel Maddow thinks about what’s going on at MSNBC.

    • Posted by Random Comment, at Reply

There is a video on youtube where Bill Maher asks her on Real Time about Olbermann leaving. She didn’t give a opinion. She’s famous for talking but not really saying anything.

    • Posted by Eric Reese, at Reply

That she’d better keep her head down.

    • Posted by NYCzora, at Reply

She might not say anything publicly, but I wonder what she *THINKS*. I thought she had principles. Plus she should be suspicious in case MSNBC execs try to get rid of her, once her contract ends.

    tyt add Lawrence O’Donnell.

    • Posted by Trent Blanch, at Reply

O’Donnell is the host of his own show. Is he really going to settle for a small time journalist position? I don’t think he would unless he really stands behind the ideas of a fair and just media.

    • Posted by Eric Reese, at Reply

      He’s 65, it wouldn’t be a bad semi-retirement.

    • Posted by elijah mikle, at Reply

Frank Parise sorry, but Lawrence O’Donnell is not a progressive. just because he is against Trump doesn’t make him progressive. Lawrence could be asking to much money andor asking for too many changes. there are lots of reasons. sorry but the Turks are looking for ANY reason to complain about mainstream news. any mainstream news. by the way the cable news has been very critical of trump. but they have to toe a line between the truth and their personal beliefs. they can get sued for lying. also the news only has some much time to work with. they can only cover the big popular issues. proof, the healthcare bill is bad, why do I know this, because the mainstream news told me what was in the bill. than I made up my OWN mind that it was bad. that’s how real news works. just facts, and facts don’t always support your beliefs.

    • Posted by M G, at Reply

Who are you to say he’s not progressive? Please explain and cite examples.

    • Posted by Eric Reese, at Reply

Maddow’s statements on her own political views are something to the effect that she “considers herself a liberal, which means she generally believes in the Eisenhower platform of 1956.”

    • Posted by thelousyllama, at Reply

Ivory Oasis why? Because jimmy dore tells you so
