" Fresh off his look on Sunday's edition of "Meet the Press," Wisconsin Legislator Ron Johnson penned an op-ed in The New York Times further discussing why the American Healthcare Act, as it's presently created, misbehaves for the country. Specifically, it still does way too much to shield people with pre-existing conditions and utilizes way too much government loan to maintain individuals from passing away.

Johnson puts a ton of belief in the suggestion that the free market will certainly address all our medical care problems, which it will not. "The key objectives of any healthcare reform ought to be to limit (if not reduced) prices while improving quality, gain access to as well as development," Johnson created. "This is exactly just what consumer-driven, free-market competitors carries out in various other areas of our economic climate."

Johnson spent a great deal of column inches harping on the idea that the solution must be to loosen up constraints and deregulate the insurance policy sector, which will in some way benefit the population in its entirety and also not insurance policy and pharmaceutical firms. It's not like we've ever before seen either of these markets synthetically pump up expenses of life-saving medication for no reason aside from large revenues, right?" *.

Just hold your horses. TrumpCare isn’t done yet as it isn’t cruel enough and doesn’t screw over enough people for the Republicans’ liking.

I’m from Maine and Collins is just as soulless as the rest but she represents the state with the oldest average age and supporting this bill, which will raise the average old person’s premium up to 5x is political suicide.

I am having difficulty understanding the Republicans’ agenda… Destroying the health & wealth of their voter base+shrinking the middle class & possibly killing off the poor is simply bad business for many of these Fortune 500 companies. If average Americans are unhappy, struggling to survive & unhealthy, they spend less money on the goods & services offered for sale by the wealthy donor base. Elected officials(politicians)rely on many of these wealthy donors & their profitable companies for money to keep their campaigns afloat. Their behavior seems illogical, almost parasitical in nature… It’s like they are destroying the host(the American people & planet earth)to obtain immediate riches & single-minded agendas for the very immediate future, rather than trying for long term future goals for the entire human race. Or, they are all aliens with the the intention of destroying the human race from the inside. Lol… Either way, the behavior of most elected officials, especially Trump & his does not make much sense…

    • Posted by Aaron Loyd, at Reply

The truth is that most businessmen would be better off financially with a stronger middle class than with a struggling one –BUT –their relative wealth is greater this way (psychological benefit) and most importantly their political power is greater t;his way.

Obamacare isn’t working as it should because of Republicans feverish unwavering opposition to the legislation. They’re total a-holes in that regard and most regards for that matter, and i’m a gerbil.

    • Posted by Hekat the Evil B-tch, at Reply

Sir Gerbil Macintosh And as a gerbil, a member of the rodent family, you sound perfect for the Presidency. At least, you do seem to possess a bit, ok, a lot more brain power then our sitting President… Just try not to get stepped on… I’m pretty sure most of the current administration would run screaming from you, being a rodent & all…

    • Posted by BatMadd, at Reply

Edi GG Obamacare (ACA – you know those are the same right? Because a lot of republicans still don’t seem to) was a compromise designed to prove Obama was willing to work with republicans. It was a Heritage Foundation plan that was implemented by a republican governor in Massachusetts. It’s not at all what people on the left wanted. It was a compromise. And what the gerbil is saying is the reason things like the exchanges aren’t robust with options (which would lower cost trough competition) was sabotaged with things like Rubio’s addition, which eliminated payments to insurance companies, who at the time were risking a lot of money insuring people without fully knowing what the cost would be. Does that make sense? So the notion that insurers are pulling out BECAUSE ACA is bad is not true. It’s because there were protections built in so they could test it out. But of course they’re hemorrhaging $$ so they leave the exchanges. That’s the deal. So republicans didn’t want it to work, purely because they didn’t want Obama to appear to have any victories. And now they’re claiming the whole thing is in a “death spiral”.

    • Posted by Edi GG, at Reply

Why blame republicans for Obamacare? Democrats need to stop blaming others for their own mistakes. After all those compromises, 0 republicans voted for the bill. The shitty bill was designed to appease corporate democrats. If Obama wanted to, he could have had the public option included with the ability to import drugs from Mexico and Canada with 51 votes in the senate, but that isn’t what he wanted.

    • Posted by J'Nay Vann, at Reply

Edi GG Look at the states who implemented the Medicaid expansions and compare them to the states who did not. I’ll give you am answer, the former are better off than the latter

Obama passed a right-wing health insurance system. And it cost Dems 1,000 congressional seats and 12 governorships.

Republicans attacked Obama’s right-wing plan as liberal madness, so now they have to go even more right. As soon as the bill is signed–Trump and the GOP will own all of the faults of Obamacare plus their own faults (even though they will be years from going in effect).

This bill is a cliff edge and Republicans are going to run right off it.

    • Posted by Mike19737, at Reply

I agree. Let it pass and let the GOP reap the whirlwind in the midterms. Then we can have single payer system.

    • Posted by Mythology Squirrel, at Reply

Ehh…the Republicans don’t have as much to lose in the midterms as the Democrats in 2016. And you forget that many areas are designed/gerrymandered in favor of the maximum always-red vote count.

Why do Republikkkans pose as Christians when they hate the homeless, poor, needy and kids? It sickens me that they hide behind a bible when they are so obviously evil in their ways. Satan awaits your arrival GreedyOldPigs.
I grew up Catholic and feel very strongly about helping the poor and do so just about every chance I get. It’s not uncommon for me to hand over a 5$, 10$ or even 20$ bill to the homeless in my community or just buy them something from 7/11 like a sandwich and a nice cool beer.

These kids are seeing how Trump and that party is doing away with everything they care for like SCIENTIFIC FACTS, not alternative facts. A big blow to them in this information generation. A vice prez who hates gays with a passion. Climate change denial. A long overdue raise to minimum wage. Opposing legalizing marijuana. Anything having to do with police reform like something so simple as body cams. Taking away their grandparents and parents healthcare. Causing a less transparent White House like it this was North Korea. Putting his family members in positions of power like a dictator would. Saying nothing when the kkk and David Duke endorsed him. Has an a neo-nazi like Steve Bannon as his right, or should I say reich, hand man. I could go on but they’re too disgusting. No wonder millennials are leaving that garbage party by the droves. Even Hillary Clinton, who nobody liked, got three million more votes than the Republicans lmfao.
Marco Rubio is that party’s “black guy” lol.

Most of the problems with the ACA are due to sabotage and purposeful destruction of the ACA by HMOs and the GOP. It started with the red state refusals of the the med expansion…….
