New Romney ad imagines a White House without Obama; Left struggles to hit back

The Romney campaign has released a short new ad featuring its vision for the first day of a Romney presidency.

RedState has the transcript.

The words "President Romney" are repeated 3 times in his new ad. (Theory: People must be able to imagine you as president to elect you.)

President Romney, Day One: http://t.co/HRgdS2t3 Imagine there's no Obama. It's easy if you try.

New Romney ad: "Day One." End Obamacare? I'm all in. http://t.co/fDRsQG5J

Why does this election matter? On Day One, Romney will approve the #KeystoneXL pipeline http://t.co/2PUVVToB

The lefty spin machine doesn’t seem to be able to do much with the ad:

Romney ad: On day one I'll cut rich's taxes and take health care away from millions, & you'll see, that'll be awesome for everyone!

Really, that’s the best you’ve got?

romney's first general-election themed ad isn't bad, imo. kind of weird to be so keystone-focused though. http://t.co/SBo5fqi2

@PolofContraband i understand keystone talk appeals to the fox brain, but not to the general public, no.

On his first day in office, Mitt Romney promises to increase the debt by trillions. The one promise he'll likely keep.

#Romney promises to do a bunch of stuff on Day One of his presidency. What stuff? Uh, well, he'd rather not say: http://t.co/Ioua0f80

He’d rather not say? Romney makes three commitments in the ad. We guess English is hard for some people.

Instead of hitting back at the ad, DNC staffers are pushing a new video called “The Bane of Romney’s Existence.”

Been a long week for @Mittromney: See the new DNC WEB VIDEO – "THE BANE OF ROMNEY'S EXISTENCE" http://t.co/LkYp2Yrr

See what they did there? Bane … Bain … get it? We’d bet cash money they gather ’round the water cooler cackling at the cleverness of the most obvious wordplay ever.

Here’s the ad:
