Martin Shkreli is mosting likely to trial for fraud and also lawyers are having a difficult time choosing jurors. Cenk Uygur as well as Ana Kasparian, the hosts of The Young Turks, review you the jurors' quotes. Tell us exactly what you assume in the remark section listed below.

" Court option began slowly in the trial of the price-gouging "pharma brother" Martin Shkreli, due to the fact that possible jurors just don't like him.

Greater than 120 potential jurors were disregarded Monday from the government court test in Brooklyn, where Shkreli faces eight counts of protections and also wire fraud related to his 2 hedge funds as well as the drug firm Retrophin, reported the New York Times.

Several of the jurors understood about the 34-year-old Shkreli, who came to be known as "the most hated guy on the web" 2 years back after hiking the rate of the medicine Daraprim overnight from $13.50 per pill to $750 as Chief Executive Officer of Turing Pharmaceuticals.

" This is the rate gouger of medicines," one potential juror said. "My children get on some of these medicines. This influences my kids."

Another potential juror made a throat-throttling motion as she denounced Shkreli."

The jurors sensed the evil within him, sort of like how kids and animals can supposedly sense demons in haunted establishments.

Hal Jordan No need for extrasensory perception with this guy, he has it written all over his face. His expression just screams “I’m effing rich and better than you and you can’t touch me a-holes!”…. No wonder they can’t find an “unbiased” jury member… One would have to be blind not to see this fuming pile of manure for who he really is.

If we’re being honest, Martin Shkreli is only being prosecuted and attacked because he’s a lone wolf without the backing of a major pharmaceutical corporation. It’s like Bernie Madoff all over again – Bernie Madoff didn’t actually cause the financial crisis, the people who did got off Scott free, but Bernie Madoff screwed over rich people so he was demonized and prosecuted and imprisoned. To be clear, this is not a defense of Bernie Madoff or Martin Shkreli, but people need to realize the truly powerful are truly immune to justice.

These industries pick a scapegoat to distract from the real crimes.

+Kabuto Yakushi what about derivative kingpin Lloyd Blankfein and Jamie Dimon?

The U.S. tax payer gave them an $11 trillion dollar loan to speculate. Where’s mine? I’m sure I could build a nice fortune with that type of loan.

    • Posted by elaineg60, at Reply

ibesweetp2 actually, yes people DID break laws causing the financial crisis (but only a few actually were prosecuted); and 2. Sorry, it was MUCH MORE than the Sub Prime laws. I work in the markets now and have talked to some of the guys that were gambling with derivatives-worthless derivatives. (Some based on real estate, many based on bond yields, indexes and bank equity). What happened was complicated when you get to the details, but most analysts agree the deregulation under Clinton and then Bush were prime factors in the crash. Read some of the many articles or books written by experienced and respected analysts instead of the much repeated talking points….maybe you’ll get lucky when you realize another cycle is due and most are predicting it will be this year

    • Posted by ibesweetp2, at Reply

elaineg60 You just posted a bunch of stuff I already said I agreed with but with a condescending “I’m right, you’re wrong” tone. I was the one arguing that laws were in fact broken to cause the financial crisis, and I also agree another one is due

So Shkrelli buys drugs that weren’t going to be produced anymore due to the original companies not making enough money, and ups the price so the drugs can continue being made and sold to the people that desperately need them, and he’s the bad guy?

TYT just don’t put any thought or research into their coverage, do they?

    • Posted by gil martin, at Reply

So ur saying the handfull of extremely rich ppl that need this drug is more important then the thousands of average ppl that need it? U don’t care unless it happens to u or ur family-the republican motto

    • Posted by Walter Salano, at Reply

      +Christopher Balsom
Legally he’s done nothing wrong… Well except from the whole securities fraud thing that is kinda a bit illegal. But I’m sure they’re just leveling those charges at him for his price hike of the drug and his flamboyant personality…

    • Posted by Bearish, at Reply

+Walter Salano except that hasn’t been proven yet. Your attitude is why they can’t find jurors. You already have your mind made up knowing nothing about the evidence.

If u actually give the full story. U would know that he would actually be willing to give the drug which u claim to be 750 dollars for actually a dollar. He has stated this many times. If u actually know the full story of what he did then u would that. Now if u dont believe that he is being honest, then thats fine, but know the full story.
