Funny how they waited till the pig was found not guilty to release the video.

+99DJGamer calling a cop a pig is referring to what he does for a living, i.e., his job… NOT his race (there are black pigs as well as white pigs). It is NOT equivalent to belittling someone for their ethnicity. So your comparison is apples and oranges.

Dont hire cops who are emotionally weak.
Train them better to ask to see hands #1.
This is a very flawed police system for a Western country.

Pretty much, yeah. And unless this jumpy officer is fired or get some serious retraining(not likely to happen), he’s probably going to repeat this mistake.

  3. Posted by Lorange J, at Reply

My heart breaks watching this. For every person involved. Such a huge mistake, and his being pulled over for a tail light out? Seriously insane that it escalated to this level.

Actually, he did follow directions. He was told not to pull out the gun, and he wasn’t; and calmly tried to reassure the cop. The officer had drawn his own weapon the second he heard “firearm”, meaning he had already decided Philando was a deadly threat to him. By the time of the first “don’t pull it(the gun) out”, Philando would’ve had his hand on his wallet. Once he put his hand down, even if he’d frozen or raised his hands, he’d have been shot anyways. Because the cop was already sure the driver had the gun in his out-of-sight hand to kill him.

A little over a decade ago the FBI put out a memo detailing how white supremacists throughout the country are actively looking to infiltrate law enforcement. They call them “ghost skins.”

    • Posted by shareena clarke, at Reply

Elpresador’s Race Card I recently watched a Documentry about this. How the KKK were able to get high ranking officials into the police force. How they had close relationships with some members of the government and even honouree positions in schools. People think the KKK don’t exist because they are so well hidden within society.

shareena clarke Very much true. They are connected and do not plan on going anywhere.

So after seeing this…the only thing that makes sense is the jury was made up of 60 year old white men wearing confederate flag shirts.

We don’t teach cops moron, people need to keep hands on the steering wheel at all times. They need to do exactly what they are told to do. You have the right to remain silent and every thing you say can and will be used against you. If you can’t afford a lawyer one will be provided for you.

But the video helps the cop. He said he had a gun, and then reached for something which is why the police told him not to reach for it. He put the police in a situation where he has to make a judgement call. Personally I don’t think Philando was going to shoot the cop especially with a kid in the backseat, however, Philando didn’t follow instruction and that led to the shooting. It’s not Philando’s fault, it was just an unfortunate situation. I truly believe Philando is a victim of the current race war that we are in right now where both cops and the black youth population are afraid of each other.

But don’t worry, TYT and other mainstream media will continue pitting the two against each other just for views. “White” cop kills black man is great for news especially if there’s any follow up riots.

    • Posted by Anthony Thomas, at Reply

L.M after a person tells a police officer that they have a gun. the police officer has to take the gun. then they have to check the legal status of the gun and the owner. it’s the citizens responsibly to comply with the officer in every way. my parents sat us down and taught us how to react to police officer. people taking children to protest the police and teaching children that police are the enemy. unbelievable.

White people love to say he was just a bad apple, but how do you explain the jury deadlocking 10-2 in favor of acquittal (fyi: there were only 2 black people on the jury)? Were they just bad apples too? Philando Castile was stopped over 40 times in his short life. How many bad apples are there before we say the entire batch is bad? White people’s slave master mentality hasn’t gone anywhere. It’s simply been refined and repurposed. Lynchings occur every day, in the jury room and on the streets. Your rainbow flag waving lefty white pals are the same ones voting not guilty when these race soldiers murder black men. There’s a race war going on here and black people better wake up and get in the game.

    • Posted by N.W.A., at Reply

Interesting that to you order is white cops having complete autonomy to execute any black man on sight for, just going down the list of reasons the white jury accepted in this case: a broken tail light, marijuana smell, resemblance of a mysterious burglary suspect. And by the way, don’t let the white media lull you into thinking this is over. Ray Tensing, the white murderer of Samuel DuBose is on trial as we speak, and that jury is in its 3rd day of deliberation for yet another clear and cold blooded murder caught on video. So, once again, we’ll have another group of random white people, who will all tell you they voted for Obama twice, siding with the white guys no matter what. And did the white media tell you that when Ray Tensing murdered Mr. DeBose, he has wearing his lucky confederate flag t-shirt? I guess they forgot that little detail.

    • Posted by ArisCarroll, at Reply

    • Posted by Patrick Ogunnaike, at Reply

How is fear for you life a blanket justification? That’s part of the job. The other cop didn’t react the same way. That’s BS. Plenty if people are in situations where they have fear for their life but they don’t shoot people 7 times.

    • Posted by Jim is the man, at Reply

@s Hill: Unfortunately, we also have plenty of incidents where cops find that someone (legally) has a gun they didn’t mention to the cops and that someone also ends up dead. The cops are the problem – not the people exercising their 2nd Amendment rights per the SCOTUS.

So actually it takes 1.75 yrs+ the time working under a licensed beautician to get your license. And it takes 2 yrs to become a cop. How interesting.

why would he tell him he had a gun before he would try to shoot him?

    • Posted by Linda C, at Reply

Vanguard, how do you know? Did you see his hand, first hand (no pun intended)? Even if he said he was going for his ID, doesn’t mean he was telling the truth. If you were the cop, would you wait to find out? Remember, you have a split second to decide your own fate in this situation.

    • Posted by VanguardSupreme, at Reply

Linda C, you know what, I’m not buying your split-second bullshit. Only in the U.S. would this nonsense be considered proper conduct by a so-called peace officer. I expect of the cop, who already has his gun cocked and pointed at the “suspect” to de-escalate the situation and actually give the man time to explain himself and comply, not lose all composure and shoot at the man seven times before he gets a word in, especially given the fact that the driver went out of his way to calmly explain to the cop that he was in possession of a firearm. Seems to me like the cop wildly overreacted to a situation that _he_ should not have let go that far in the first place. Sorry, I’d prefer to hold police officers to a higher standard of conduct, if we’re supposed to kiss their asses all the time.

The moment he said “don’t reach for it” gun was coming out b4 he even possible saw a gun.
He was dead the moment he said “officer I have a licenced firearm”
2nd amendment while black, punishable by death in all 50 states.

I disagree completely. Requiring cops to prove what they’re saying is true, or giving the testimony of a sworn officer the same exact weight of a citizen would collapse the criminal justice system. Cops are sworn to uphold the law, and we give them leverage as those who we trust to enforce it. You may not like that, but that IS the standard. In other words, cops DO get the benefit of the doubt, as they should. It happens thousands of times every day, from a cop writing you a ticket to arresting you for disorderly conduct, etc etc etc. These actions and arrests are based on the officer’s testimony or accounts or reports, and that’s the way the law operates. To say that you know what happened is not factual. The only persons who know what happened are the cop, Mr. Castile, and Castile’s girlfriend. In any case where there is a dispute about what “happened”, we take the officer’s testimony and give it the weight it deserves. You don’t have to like it, but that’s the way it is.

    • Posted by Deimos Malefic, at Reply

That you opinion that it would collapse. Much like me, you can’t see future either. I don’t have to like it, but I said that. I said I have to accept it as well. So those points are moot. Officers are people and people should have proof to statements. Slot of the time the officer does get the benefit, which your right credibility is on their side. But this one case, from what I see, Don’t care to convince you btw, the cop is scared and unable to perform, should not be in that profession. You are proving my point on benefit because of cop. If that was anyone else with that evidence, I believe they would be convicted. You won’t change my mind, I won’t try to change yours.

OJ got off due to fear that black people would riot like they did just a few years before with the Rodney King riots. This officer got off because a jury really didnt see him as guilty. They believed what he did was justified which it wasnt. Same thing with the Casey Anthony case. They interviewed members of the actual jury who believe she was innocent.

    • Posted by Handsome B. Wonderful, at Reply

Betty Bros are you clarifying or changing your initial statement? Furthermore; provide empirical evidence that OJ got off because of _”fear that black people would riot”_, and not his celebrity, or his overpowered legal defense, or missteps by law enforcement including Mark Fuhrman committing perjury.

Bottom line is that this cop overreacted. Castile wasn’t gonna pull out his gun.Why do you idiots always try to flip the narrative that the black guy was to blame for his own death instead of the cop overreacting ?

    • Posted by sandman1347, at Reply

Linda C Logic tells us that if a man wants to shoot you, he doesn’t first make sure that you know he has a gun…Logic also tells us that he wasn’t reaching for the gun like George claimed. Why would he reach for a gun when he hadn’t done anything wrong and was in the car with his family? It amazes me how stupid people in our society are these days…
