Read more here:

" Democrats' path to retaking your house simply obtained a bit less complicated. Again. On Wednesday, longtime The golden state Republican Rep. Darrell Issa announced that he would certainly retire from Congress instead of seek re-election this fall. Issa's separation brings the number of GOP retirements from your home to 30– a record for the party– and also comes simply 2 days after one more embattled Southern Californian, Rep. Ed Royce, introduced his very own separation. It is a gift to Democrats that had currently put Issa's district near the top of their list of 2018 targets, and who came within 1,621 votes of falling the former car-alarm tycoon in 2016.

After Trump's political election, progressive activists had made a special target of Issa. They did so both due to his newfound susceptability– Issa's affluent rural area, like others in Orange County and the Atlanta as well as Houston locations, was one of those places where long-suffering Democrats made significant gains in 2016– and due to the fact that his prestige. Issa grew a credibility as a partial attack dog as chairman of your home oversight board as well as took the lead in publicizing Obama-era rumors, such as Fast and Furious. His 49th district has ended up being a center for "Resistance" teams; just one day before Issa introduced he would not seek re-election, a San Diego Indivisible chapter held a retirement celebration for the congressman outside one of his area offices."

Also…it seems rather obvious to anyone paying attention that the ‘investigations’ into Benghazi have all but disappeared as soon as Trump was in office…hmmmm. Do these Republicans think Americans are really dumb enough to fall for this blatant politicizing of a tragic situation? And you Republicans reading this who fell for this bullshit, shame on you. You needed an excuse, you needed plausible deniability and you let the Republicans feed you the slop your conscience needed.

We’ll have to see. I’d prefer not to speculate, but the likelihood of him not making it past this year is pretty high.

Progressive have a real opportunity to flip Congress if corporate dems don’t ruin it. I suspect they’ll fight harder against progressives than they will against repubs, but progressives clearly have the momentum this time and, I believe, 1000s of seats across the country are ripe for progressives to pick off. We know that all we have to do is keep talking about the core economic issues ($15 min wage, universal health care, etc) and not allow the establishment machine to drown us out, and the voters will come.

Drumpf becoming president is the worst thing that ever happened to the Republican party. His unstable antics has single handedly kicked more Americans than ever before out of voter apathy and in doing so, ensured an overwhelming progressive victory in 2020 with even a passable candidate heading the rallies — simply because anything is better than the establishment politics of which Drumpf and the modern Democraps are only a symptom.

Doug Applegate is the dream candidate for the progressive left. Same with Tulsi Gabbard. When a high ranking military veteran is an unabashed leftist, the right wing can’t compete.

    • Posted by alt-right Smasher, at Reply

      The right-wing can’t compete anyway.
      They buy elections

Frankly, Traitor Trump is doing more to kill off old racist, corporately owned republicans than almost ANY democrat has been able to do. The longer pedo Donald’s in office, the less patriotic and pro-American these clowns seem to be. They don’t fight for democracy, they stand with their hands out until the going gets tough, then they run like the cowards they truly are.
Time to decide, GOP… are you republican or American?

Issa is out because it’s kinda hard to label a Marine Colonel an unpatriotic snowflake who’s weak on defense and law enforcement (GOP modus operandi).
