Typhoon Maria has actually passed however Puerto Rico isn't from the woods yet. Cenk Uygur as well as Ana Kasparian, the hosts of The Young Turks, inform you just how the country is attempting to recoup. Inform us exactly what you assume in the comment area below.

" SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO– 10s of countless individuals in northwestern Puerto Rico were ordered to leave Friday afternoon after floodwaters from Hurricane Maria harmed the Guajataca Dam, which the National Climate Service said is in "brewing" risk of stopping working.

The dam, built by the Military Corps of Engineers in 1929, suffered a "crack," Gov. Ricardo Rosselló said in a news conference Friday. An estimated 70,000 people in the towns of Quebradillas, Isabela and component of San Sebastian can be influenced if the dam breaks down, he said. A failure would likely send a substantial amount of water from an inland lake along the Guajataca River, which flows north with coastal neighborhoods towards the sea.

" To those people [of those locations] who are listening: Please leave," Rosselló claimed. "We want your life to be safeguarded … Please, if you're paying attention, the time to leave is currently."

The circumstance includes a new seriousness in Puerto Rico as authorities below survey the wreckage left by Hurricane Maria, the most powerful tornado to strike the island in more than 80 years."

Welcome to the reality of global warming, something we could have prevented.

    • Posted by veenomie, at Reply

Should have prevented…and still can and should prevent from getting worse.

For people that care, we have to switch our mindsets and view any victory as a victory…a 1 percent win is a win and if we can stack enough of these, we will be in a much better position for when the rest of our country finally chooses to catch on

Health alert for Puerto Rico – an itchy dermatitis (skin inflammation):  Because of the flooding, people there may develop snail fever, (Schistosomiasis also known as bilharzia).  It is a serious disease caused by parasitic flatworms.  It is spread by contact with fresh water contaminated by these parasites. The infection can be serious.  The parasitic flatworms enter the body through the skin.

yes usa is a 4th world country so they don’t get decent healthcare. Too bad usa won’t allow cuba to help.

I have no problems if Cuba helps. A healing hand has no ideology.

I know several guys from Puerto Rico. They are employed by the local lumber companies. The folks I know are kind, hardworking and funny. One guy I was talking with today said he is worried about the families that built their homes along the hillside being destroyed by landslides. I hadn’t even thought of that. My heart breaks for Puerto Rico. We should all give anything we can even if it’s a couple bucks. Like Ben said, they are our American brothers and sisters. I have to remind people on a daily basis that Puerto Ricans are not Mexicans. It’s frustrating yet amazing how many people think that.

This is devastating but why isn’t anyone at ALL reporting on the giant super volcano that’s about to erupt in Bali. It’s at a level 4, which means it could erupt in a few days. Our state department hasn’t even issued a travel warning yet, even though Australia did yesterday. The island has been evacuated, including my little sister who is studying abroad.

We are all connected. We all live on the same planet. To think that we are not affected by what is happening in the world is, yes, an American perspective. America is not a planet unto itself. We are all affected. The rest of the world knows they are affected by trump. They don’t see it as an American problem. Relate to that.

sheeple just keep living in your dream world, this planet is becoming hellhole but who cares its not affecting you now, and you saw it on tv that everything is just ok, and that is all that matters

It’s also sad that we spend so much on war when our own frailties leave us at such higher risk from natural events that we know will happen. The devastation is orders of magnitudes greater than terrorism.

I’m saying tow ice bergs from Antartica into the lanes of these hurricanes. Tow them with nuclear submarines. If they can get them into the Eye of the hurricane that be great (but not necessary) but if they can get them into the eye it would be calm towing along with the hurricane, as the eye is calm. Cool the water down and take down the strength of the hurricane
Bring the category down from 4 to hopefully 3 or 2. Some ice bergs can be huge as big as Manhatten or nearly the size of Delaware, it just might have an impact.

They barely mentioned the dam at all.

  17. Posted by Nick Martínez, at Reply

That dam is also holding our water resource. We don’t have natural lakes, they’re all man made of disposable water. So not only is the dam failing catastrophic, but it’s also gone disposible water.

The elites hate Islam because they are very much afraid of it. They know that if Islam gets more coverage and fair media presentation many Christians and non Christian will become Muslims. Mening if people Unit it will be the end of them. Hence the reason why they hate Islam and Muslims. Muslims believe in Jesus, love him and respect him very much. If only more segregated Christians civilians (republican states mostly, south and middle US) would know that fact too things would look much more different in this world. And the zionist wouldn’t control the Christian world like puppets and some Muslim leaders too. But the real Christians and Muslims will come together anyway and crash the zionist eventually. I don’t know if that will happen in our life time but that will happen anyway. Hence the reason why the zionist are working hard to make Muslims and Christians hate each other.

    Anyway peace yall
