Foxconn is building a plant in Wisconsin, and also while it will bring jobs to the state what are the hidden costs behind the manufacturing facility? Cenk Uygur as well as Ana Kasparian, the hosts of The Young Turks, break it down. Tell us just what you think in the remark section below.

Check out David Sirota's complete record below:

" Apple distributor Foxconn has in current years been accused of poisoning waterways near its facilities in China. Currently Republican Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin is not just suggesting to provide the company a $3 billion taxpayer subsidy, his management has also quietly slipped language into a costs that would spare the Taiwanese empire from state environmental protection laws.

Pedestrian, President Donald Trump and House Audio speaker Paul Ryan have in current days touted Foxconn's news that it will certainly open a brand-new manufacturing plant in Ryan's Southwest Wisconsin legislative district. None of them, nonetheless, pointed out that the legislation providing the taxpayer subsidies consisted of blanket waivers from Wisconsin's environmental statutes.

Under those legislations, firms are restricted from discharging products or otherwise contaminating marshes without a certain authorization to do so. Under the costs that Walker has actually advanced, companies within the new "business economics and information technology production zone" will be allowed to discharge material into non-federal wetlands if it relates to the construction or procedure of a manufacturing facility. Walker has called a special session that will discuss his bill tomorrow.

Another area of the costs outlines just how existing Wisconsin legislation calls for firms to acquire a license to disturb or change nearby rivers. Inning accordance with the official evaluation of the bill by analysts in the Republican-controlled legislature, the new legislation will allow Walker's management to waive those allowing requirements "if they associate with the building and construction, access, or procedure of a brand-new production center" in the zone where Foxconn is preparing to develop its facility."

Wisconsin gov is so corrupt its criminal

    • Posted by Justin Hill, at Reply

I live in Wisconsin. Our governor is almost as corrupt as Maine’s governor.

    • Posted by jb hann, at Reply

The conservative residents of Wisconsin keep voting him into office, so they obviously don’t care about having drinking water to survive, so long as they have jobs, that barely pay anything.

The governor can give the conservative residents two options: A. Clean drinking water. B. Jobs. They will vote for jobs each and every time, not realizing clean drinking water keeps them alive. Knuckle-draggers!

but…. but… you guys… Apple is a struggling company that desperately needs that $3 Billion tax break. How about in this new version of their manufacturing plant that the “latest feature” they come up with is that their industrial pollution is not backwards compatible with our water sources.

    • Posted by Joe Lu, at Reply

It will be a huge mistake to let Foxconn come to USA. Some shortsighted idiots see bringing in jobs only but severe pollution. SAD!

If you only knew the Foxconn working conditions in China, you will have no objection to them creating normal working conditions here in the states. Take a look at what the Chinese go through working over there. Barred windows, 13-15 hour work days, even suicides. I don’t agree with what they do, but your precious Mark Zuckerberg likes his Iphones being manufactured by them. By creating production here at least you know employees will get a fair wage.

  19. Posted by Michael Davidson, at Reply

Hope they don’t forget to set up the suicide nets.

  20. Posted by AshPooh1319, at Reply

Let’s not forgot, Foxconn was the company that, when they realized that their workers were jumping to their deaths from despair off the company roof, they built freaking nets to catch them so they wouldn’t be held liable. No therapy, no improvement in work conditions…. they decided to build a NET around the building to stop suicides from being successful. Yes, let’s bring THAT to America. I boycotted Foxconn a long time ago
