Repealing Obamacare Will Give The Wealthy A Massive Tax Break

Republicans have never been completely honest, or even clear, about their desire to repeal the Affordable Care Act, but a new study by the non-partisan Tax Policy Center reveals that repealing the law will result in massive tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans. The Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

Why do you guys always focus on the wealthy? How about the fact that
repealing it will make sure there is no economic pressure on the
middle/lower classes to buy healthcare if they don’t want it?

      False equivalency.

Proportion & donors are very different

American citizens focus on AMERICAN ECONOMIC ISSUE most donated To TRUMP.
HILLARY recieve 100x the money Trump recieved and it was from special
      interest groups – Saudi Arabia.

Josh Valenz hahaha YEAH RIGHT! Hillary puts whatever her donors want for
sale. She’s an A1 crook. Remember Haiti’s friends of Bill? Or 2/3rds of the

The same can be said of most Democratic politicians. Which is why they had
a super-majority and gave America the shitty ACA, which is a right-wing
      version of healthcare reform.

Obama care hasn’t been a benefit to me it’s been a hindrance. Obama care
itself is too expensive. So I get the shitty health insurance through my
job that covers nothing. I pay nearly 1500 a year for shitty health
insurance. I’m better off dropping it and taking the 600 penalty.

If you figure that you’ll be better off without insurance, then drop it.
And if you don’t like the fact that there’s a penalty, then don’t pay it.
Read Section 500A(g)(2) of the ACA.

The ACA is a disaster. The people being hit the hardest are the middle
class, as Obamacare essentially subsidizes the poor at the expense of the
middle class. Nowhere in this “analysis” did Farron examine the actual law.
He simply hates its repeal because of its tax scheme, and thus makes
patently false claims such as “doctors and hospitals love the ACA.”

    • Posted by johnmburt1960, at Reply

Every doctor I know (and at my age, the number is ever-increasing) loves
it, aside from wishing it were single-payer.

You have a problem helping poor sick people with a portion of your tax
money (which you already pay to support things like a bloated military)?

    • Posted by Luke Wansbrough, at Reply

I know it’s not “free”, it’s paid by tax dollars like the education system
and the military is. I am definitely alright with a small amount of my tax
dollars go towards treating sick and injured people.

    • Posted by Randy Scott, at Reply

You do realize there is no such thing as free healthcare anywhere, right?
It’s paid for through taxes but there are no limits, you can’t be removed
and best of all there is no rationing. I know folks who don’t like the idea
of single payer will scream night and day about the rationing – but it just
      doesn’t exist.

    • Posted by jerico641, at Reply

It’ll cost you a hell of a lot less in taxes than paying super high
premiums to State Farm or GEICO.

    • Posted by johnmburt1960, at Reply

It would be much wiser to call it “public health care”. Nobody talks about
“free” police protection or “free” streets.

Is it really that bad for well to do folks to pitch in for those who can’t
    afford to live?

More interestingly, I don’t understand why people are angry at ACA.
Healthcare premiums, of course, are up since well-to-do folks are
subsidizing it for those who can’t afford it, but that’s not the reason
    healthcare itself is so expensive.

Healthcare is expensive cause pharmaceutical companies are ripping people
    off, legally.

Are poor people really the cause of all evil?

Milk Lover given all the crap the middle class is forced to pay (wars,

Why do millionaires and billionaires try so hard to skirt laws so they can
make more money. Why do they even care about getting more money? They don’t
use it. They do nothing but hoard it. I never could figure this out.

    • Posted by Victor Hernandez, at Reply

William Merzlak I don’t think you realize how unstable money is. Think
      about it like this.
You have an average guy that buys used cars for 2500, and resells them for
5000 after fixing them up a bit. A couple bad buys in a row is all it takes
      to ruin him.

Now you have a guy that buys 250,000 dollar houses, fixes them up, and
      resells them for 500,000 dollars.
All it takes is a couple bad buys in a row to ruin him.

Then let’s also look at how much each person spends.

person 1, total bills a month are 3,000 dollars.
person 2, total bills a month are 30,000.

If person 1 only pays 25% on taxes, and person 2 had to pay 46% that’s
      complete bullshit.
It should be a flat fee for everyone.
if you make 50k a year you should pay 25% or 12,500.
if you make 500k a year you should pay 25% or 125,000. It’s just stupid,
and unfair to take away 40+% from the guy making 500k.

and before you tell me that all millionaires and billionaires are just
lucky people that inherited all their money, etc. you’re wrong.
86% of all millionaires today are self made that came from lower class, or
      middle class families.
and almost 70% of all billionaires today are self made too. Look it up for
