This occurred prior to the election. Why would certainly a Democratic head of state aid the Republicans such as this? Cenk Uygur and also John Iadarola, hosts of The Young Turks, break it down. Inform us exactly what you think in the remark section listed below.

" There's been a lot of conjecture about FBI Director James Comey lately. Who or what he is exploring and also exactly what he opts to disclose have actually consumed political and media circles for months.

On Wednesday, Newsweek added gas to the fire, publishing reports that Comey intended to go public regarding the hacking tale last Summer by composing an Op-Ed for a major publication, yet was stopped by the Obama management.

" He had a draft of it or an overview. He held up a piece of paper in a conference and said, 'I intend to move forward. Exactly what do individuals think about this?'" claimed one of Newsweek's 2 resources for the story. Existing in the conference were, Department of Homeland Protection Assistant Jeh Johnson, National Protection advisor Susan Rice, Chief law officer Loretta Lynch, and Assistant of State John Kerry. Several of them didn't such as the pitch, especially feeling that an Op-Ed by an individual really did not carry the very same weight as an official declaration from federal government firms, like the one that can be found in October.

Comey's draft did not mention the investigation of the connections between Russia and members of Head of state Donald Trump's project." *.

Lol maybe Obama thought Clinton would win so he shrugged it off thinking it’d undermine her.

He’s the FBI director? It’s either they fact check him and then state those facts, or see where his allegiance’s lie and whether or not he would be tempted to make a statement based on private interests.

They’ve been fair in how they’ve treated him in every possible way. The world’s more complicated then, “he’s a liar or trustworthy.” Circumstances change how you should look at a person.

I believe Obama didn’t want the negative press and to give the impression that he was somehow trying to foil trumps possible win? as much as I can’t stand Hillary…. At this point she would have been a better choice I think?

    • Posted by Wayne White, at Reply

To quote Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan; “You’re entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts.” An opinion piece from some google spot is not a fact, nor is the contention that she lacked in policy arguments. If you truly believe what you’ve just said it would be a waste of both our time to even discuss the matter. If you haven’t researched the assertions on your own then you might want to do so before regurgitating someone’s biased opinions as fact,  otherwise you have no more credibility than any other blogger or self described journalist.

    • Posted by delv213, at Reply

And Trump got his revenge against Obama for making fun of him at the Presidential dinner by trying to and dismantling most of his policies. If Obama really wanted to screw Hillary he would’ve endorsed Sanders but that would’ve hurt his relationship with the donor class that gave Obama and his wife that monstrous $60M book deal among other things.

This was a chess move by Obama. He held onto the info because for one, he wad sure Hillary was going to win and if it would have been released he’d have looked like he was trying to undermine Trump’s run, no one would have believed him and they would have just played past it. Two, in case of a Trump victory, Obama and the feds now have dirt on Trump to undermine his presidency and undermine the Republicans. Republicans might be able to forgive a White Supremacist like Trump in office but they’re not going to forgive a traitor and neither is the American people. Smart move. Obama is in his grave, as a president, and he’s still making the Republicans lives living hell.

Nice chess game, trump a russian puppet is office.

Obama tried to remove russian spies later but it was too late. Do you see how foolish he was? Cenk is 100% spot on. Obama tried to do everything before he trump took office. But it was too late.

    • Posted by DarthVantos, at Reply

fay guled ??? OBama put sanctions on Russia in 2014 the whole reason Russia is hacking us and attacking us is because they want sanctions to be lifted.

Makes no sense. Obamas failure to appear to be friendly to everyone and arrogance that even with russia attacking us Hilary would win. Pathetic establishment drones, drunk on victory before anything even happens. He then tried to final be tough on Russia but it was too late nothing he did stopped them.

    • Posted by fay guled, at Reply

+DarthVantos I am talking about the recent sanctions before he went out. Flynn contacted the Russian ambassador because of the recent ones and that is what got him “fired”

Obama’s legacy was already set, so he probably didn’t want it to look like he was inhibiting Trump’s campaign and rightfully so because GUESS WHAT… the story would of been Obama RIGGED THE ELECTION in Hillary’s favor. Hillary fukin lost! So just get over it and stop the finger pointing because it’s becoming HYPOCRITICAL especially when you point out the fact that the democratic party keeps making excuses for her.

Andre Hamilton they wear their bias on their sleeve. Tyt maintains they can be biased and ethical at the same time which is true compared to fox who will selectively report on any situation.

    • Posted by sheek1982, at Reply

Unfortunately every news media does that but my concern are the people who aren’t smart enough to figure things out for themselves and accept everything that is said to them as facts. Cenk speculated and did so badly.

    • Posted by athews1976, at Reply

You seem to be conflating Democrats with progressive libs. TYT is always critical of establishment democrats. That includes Obama. Progressives are NOT the ones making excuses and pointing fingers.

  15. Posted by Andre Samuels, at Reply

I find it so obnoxious when these pundits try to pretend that they know what politicians are thinking. its so obvious, ignorant and self serving the way they demonize the inner thoughts of politicians they don’t like, while becoming servile fanboys of the politicians they love. Honestly, I’m so sick of this kind of mean spirited rhetoric and the way these people encourage americans to hate politicians with little or no cause. Obama didn’t want Comey to do the op-ed because perhaps he thought it was damaging to our democracy to harm our perception of our own independence. And maybe he did think that there was no way for Trump to win, so why destroy our perception of our free and fair elections if Trump was gonna lose anyways. ORRRRRRR Maybe Obama is just SICK, and Obsessed with his own legacy……and he doesn’t care about anyone but himself……..and he’s sooo Arrogant! From a bunch of people who’ve never met the guy. How about this, we just evaluate things rationally and we criticize from a place of reason based on things we can know. And we don’t presume to know someone’s internal dialogue. Cenk asked why should we be fair to republicans, and I will answer that one. Because our commitment to our system of government supersedes our desire to see our side win! If winning means damaging our system long term, than it isn’t worth the victory. Its the other-side that wants to win at all costs, NOT US!

    • Posted by Andre Samuels, at Reply

Ben Mitchell my point is that punditry doesn’t have to be demonizing. It should be about analysis and we should analyze based on what we can know. There are many reasons that a person takes a particular course of action and my biggest point is that with politics I wish more pundits would allow for the idea that someone chooses a different course for totally legitimate reasons. I may think going with a particular option is stupid or ill-founded but I don’t have to conclude that you are only choosing that option because YOUR JUST SELFISH AND YOU DON’T CARE ABOUT ANYONE ELSE!!!!!. Or YOUR JUST AN ARROGANT S.O.B.!!!!!!! See that is the difference between punditry, analysis or mindlessly demonizing people you disagree with. It would be like me saying that damned Ben Mitchell, he doesn’t agree with me because….HE DOESN’T CARE ABOUT THE WELL BEING OF AMERICA!!!!!!! And honestly how many times do right wing pundits do that to progressives. They can’t just rely on coming up with rational reasons for disagreeing with us so instead they convince their side that we are the face of evil in this world. What Cenk is doing here is no different. Its just internecine warfare.

    • Posted by Andre Samuels, at Reply

Maybe you’re stuck with the Cheetoh because supposed progressives spent so much time tearing down the legacy of the President on their own side that they convinced their own voters that they had nothing to lose by staying home (or worse yet, switching sides). Maybe by mindlessly attacking their own side, TYT helped bring about complacency and unrealistic and insatiable demands that left the base feeling irrationally disappointed in President Obama. And then we stayed home and that is how the Cheetoh got elected. I know I up-ended my whole life to fight and keep that guy out of the oval office. Can you say the same??? And over and over I encountered progressive democrats that acted like there was no difference between Hillary and Trump. And they pretended that Obama didn’t do anything anyways. To me shows like this turned alot of progressive voters into mindless pessimists that didn’t really understand what was at stake or the totality of the things that President Obama had done. And as a result they acted like they had nothing to lose and after 50 days I think we can all see now how wrong that mindset was.

    • Posted by WiseKing, at Reply

Andre Samuels Agreed. What information did they have? Was it a call based on A, B, or C? Also, let’s just say it… THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT MAY NOT HAVE WANTED TO STICK HIS NECK OUT BASED ON SOME DATA THAT MAY (MAY MIND YOU) SHOW NEFARIOUS INTENT. I need to know the context… I don’t fault politicians for being… Political. I fault them for being corrupt.

Come(d)y didn’t even have access to the DNC servers to conduct an investigation!!! He was merely parroting the claims of a PRIVATE company (Crowdstrike) which was brought in by the DNC and has financial ties to the Clintons. If Obama had taken this nonsense at face value & proceeded with it to claim Russian interference in US elections, the entire WORLD would’ve laughed at him just like they are laughing at the Democrats today!

  17. Posted by jadewinter7, at Reply

Lol. This is old news. It is also questionable that your panel DELIBERATELY omitted that McConnell was among those who threatened Obama into silence by saying if he allowed Comey to reveal Trump’s ties last year, the republicans would cry foul and make it seem as if Obama is just being entirely biased and vengeful.
Obama doesn’t make decisions lightly, and it is widely known that republicans did everything that they could to tie his hands every step of his presidency.
Don’t make it seem like all of a sudden Obama was an egocentric child who kept the truth from the public just to elevate his and Hillary’s name. If you hate him, you hate him, that’s your personal feeling. But don’t purposely omit a part of the facts just so your viewers will immediately bash him too.

Obama never ran as a progressive(in the sense that TYT means it) so I don’t know why they demand it of him. He’s a mainstream centrist/center left Democrat. He’s not on the progressive wing, though he did end up being quite progressive on things like gay rights and climate.
