Republican Introduces Legislation To Completely Gut Social Security

Republicans in the House of Representatives have introduced legislation to re-structure Social Security. But rather than “re-structuring” the program, it simply gives huge tax cuts to wealthy while cutting benefits for people living on Social Security. The Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

Now the Trolls come out! Telling us how we can’t afford to support our
citizens. But! We can plan for a multibillion dollar wall to solve a non
existent problem. We can plan for nuclear proliferation. We can lower the
taxes on the rich. We can wail about the national debt while increasing
that debt. The new cabinet are the one percent with divisive, destructive
agendas. Make the rich richer and all you fearful beleaguered hopefuls who
want relief well join the Trump University students. Join the workers all
over the world that got screwed by Trump and the people in his cabinet. Now
insult the hell out of me…because you know I’m right.

+Will Wright life expectancy is longer now and that is at the root of the
problem. In 1935 the average person collected retirement benefits for 5-10
years before dying. Nowadays people could be on retirement benefits for
30-40 YEARS. This is what is causing the issue because your existing system
doesn’t take that into account. Hence the reform. I am betting Trump will
ease his stance on immigration despite his platform during the primaries.

Never said that. The state and local governments can provide help. Also,
friends and family can help. The people currently on it now can keep it
because drastic changes is something we can’t do. But as a whole it needs
      to go.

For me, if I am in trouble I have friends and family to help. I also can
save for retirement. But, local communities can help. This is something I
never understood about democrats. They are all about helping the little
guy, but their way of doing it is allowing the federal government to have
more power to tax and spend other people’s money. Meanwhile, they do
nothing themselves and complain when the federal government becomes corrupt.

    • Posted by RobotShlomo, at Reply

Then we cut military spending. We spend more than the next eight countries
COMBINED, to fight who? How does building yet another nuclear submarine
thwart an attack on a Christmas market in Germany? It doesn’t.

Family and friends can help? Really? That’s the solution? This libertarain
B.S. doesn’t work in the 21st century. Not only did you drink the kool
aide, but you’ve said “Mmmnn, was that Goofy Grape? I’ll have another

    • Posted by whyamimrpink78, at Reply

Our GDP is comparable to the combine GDP of those 8 countries. So it makes
sense that we spend as much as them combine.

Why won’t it work to seek help from friends and family? Oh, wait, I
forgot. Liberals don’t like to help the little guy at all. They just pass
all their problems to someone else.

    • Posted by whyamimrpink78, at Reply

Why are families struggling? We have been trying these socials programs

The problems with the healthcare system, to me, is a result of the payroll
tax. Let me ask you two questions

      1. Why do so many employers pay with healthcare insurance as opposed to a
      higher wage?

      2. Why does healthcare insurance equal healthcare?

I would say yes and no…consider this. The vast majority of us aren’t rich
and weren’t born into a wealthy family. The vast majority of us will at
some point graduate from high school and will have to find a way to pay for
college or trade school, or whatever we plan to do. So that means if we are
lucky…grants but most of us will have to get loans from the government or
private sector to be able to afford an education to make a better life for
ourselves. That is not cheap…no longer can you get a job at mcdonalds and
expect to earn enough to pay for your own education. So now according to
republicans…we have done the “family values” thing and made it so we can
take care of ourselves…except for one thing…Right out of the gate we’re
settled with a large debt…from “doing the right thing”…Add to
that…all of the jobs from engineering to teaching are either being
outsourced, (blame democrats and republicans for this) are now low
paying…which means most of your income for a large chunk of your adult
life will go to paying for an education based on republican ideas of “self
responsibilities” and “family values”. It’s a vicious spiraling down
      cycle…so again…unless you’re rich…how do you save enough for
retirement and a minor thing…none of us know how long we will live…so
basically you’d have to save for the future at the expense of the present
because you don’t know how long you will live…which will be cut short
because you have to work for the future retirement….saving little for
yourself and most of it for interests on loans made decades ago to better
your self according to the republican way….so “everybody”saving a little
in social security is not a bad idea in principle…is it? I await your

How exactly? The entire mantra of leftistism is based off of jealousy,
selfishness, and the use of state force to redistribute wealth. Sure it’s
pitched as a way to “help the needy” but in reality it’s using state
coercion to take ones property and give it another. This is otherwise known
      as legalized theft.

And for what reason? For some reason leftists feel entitled to the fruits
of others labor. Tell me, how is that not selfish?
