RNC Holiday Party Held At Trump Hotel, What Conflict Of Interest?

The RNC is having a Holiday Party, wait until you hear where they're having it. Cenk Uygur, host of The Young Turks, breaks it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.

"President-elect Donald Trump is doing exactly what he always said he was going to do with his company, the Trump Organization. But he’s spinning it as a new decision — and the press is buying it.

The New York Times, citing unnamed sources, reported Wednesday evening that Trump won’t sell his stake in his company. His adult sons will run the business, but he won’t transfer ownership to them. And he certainly won’t be doing anything remotely resembling divesting or installing an independent administrator to run the Trump Organization.

It’s a plan that does almost nothing to address the massive conflicts of interest inherent in owning a real estate and branding business while serving as president of the United States.
It’s also the same thing he’s been promising to do for months.
You don’t need to rely on unnamed sources to know that Trump plans to have his adult children run his business while he’s in the Oval Office. He said so on live TV during a Republican primary debate in January. He said so in September. His son Donald Jr. has said the same thing. On Nov. 10, two days after Trump won the election, his attorney said the president-elect’s children were already running the business with, he claimed, no involvement from their father. (Heightening the conflicts of interest is the fact that his three oldest children are also on his transition team’s executive committee.)

The only notable difference reported in the New York Times story is that Trump’s daughter Ivanka will also step aside from the business. Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, are reportedly moving to Washington, D.C., to work in some as-yet-to-be-determined roles in her father’s administration. (Kushner’s potential position brings its own multibillion-dollar conflicts and, given his marriage to Ivanka, may also violate anti-nepotism laws.)
And the president-elect’s team is making sure reporters know he may still change his mind. “No final decisions have been made,” Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks told HuffPost. Hicks added that, as previously announced, Trump will publicly announce his plan on Dec. 15.

“This leaves us exactly where we thought we would be,” said Noah Bookbinder, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. “It is, assuming this is what he announces next week, an entirely inadequate approach to avoiding conflicts.””*

We know Cenk, Trump is bad but let’s talk about the real problem Hillary
    and Obama~Jimmy Dore

    • Posted by grah55, at Reply

Did Dore actually say that? if so link please.

    • Posted by Dumdumdumdum Dum, at Reply

+grah55 Look at his videos before the election and after the election and
maybe even now. His videos are mostly bashing the DNC,Hillary, or Obama.
Hardly any bashing Trump or the gop.

So he might as well have. He was scared of a demon while Satan waltz right
in. But hey Jill Stein 2038

      wow. you are SO edgy!

you realize how unoriginal and redundant you sound, right?

+Michael P I usually see you around commenting but not saying much . What
I do say it a lot because still he bashes them but gives no answers. If I
just watched Jimmy (which I watch none) I would think Hillary won and
that’s why he is still bashing her and not Trump. I know I would if she
won. She didn’t but yet, you know.

Again it’s nice seeing you around AGAIN.

WHY are you making small-time talk of aspect of the election when The
Washington Post dropped a rather huge bomb that illegitimized the entire
election. The Daily Beast has very strong opined piece explaining more
closer to the surface what the Russian hacking issue really means. THIS is
the story. Maybe you’re doing it now, waiting for Monday and more news to
trickle in. I watch every single episode and hit like on them all. Please
do not drop the ball on this. The country is acting to slow to mobilize
public and quite frankly, mob opinion, on exactly how this presidential
cycle has to be tossed out.

Where’s the evidence? And do you know who owns the Washington Compost?

    • Posted by Nijastan K., at Reply

The same people that claimed Weapons of Mass Destructions in Iraq are
claiming Russian involvement with 0 evidence. I’m not sure how you even
remotely think a “bomb” was dropped here. This will only help Trump. Don’t
you notice a pattern here? EVERY SINGLE attempt by the Washington Post to
character assassinate Trump has backfired and only helped him. Don’t you
people think a new strategy is in order… like focus on his policies
instead of claiming racism, sexism, or some other isms that clearly has not
      been working.

And out of all the news organizations, Washington Post is the most biased
tabloid trash ever laid eyes upon. No one even takes any of their BS

Cenk, my man, you still don’t get it. People don’t really support Trump
because they hate the establishment and money in polities. That was Bernie.
All this guy has to do is keep acting like a tough guy and blame everything
on minorities. For decades the right has built up the notion that
rich=smart. So he’s simply filing his cabinet with “smart” people. These
idiots will applaud as he and his swamp monsters take everything this
    country has left.

The hypocrisy is staggering. It’s killing me. If Obama had done any of he
same things Trump is doing the media would lose their minds. When Trump
does it everyone says, “That’s just Trump being Trump.” Nothing is going to
change until the media and the American people hold him to the same
standards they hold other politicians. Unfortunately the fact that Trump
isn’t a politician is proving to be a huge advantage because that is what
people liked about him. The reality is he is doing the same things a
corrupt politician would do but worse. I was willing to give him a chance
at first too but he hasn’t even been sworn in yet and he has already gone
above and beyond what I feared he might do when it comes to filling up the
swamp. Also, he isn’t even president yet and he went ahead and did that
terrible Carrier deal which now incentivizes companies to announce they are
leaving the country in order to get a better deal. He didn’t even require
that Carrier keep all of their jobs before giving them that giant tax
break. He had all the cards in the negotiation since Carrier has defense
contracts with us. Trump could’ve threatened to pull that contract if they
didn’t keep all jobs but he didn’t even bring it up. Trump is bad news and
things are going to keep getting worse when he takes office

they just say that you are claiming as being fake? Be specific. Is the RNC
not holding their annual Xmas party at Trumps hotel in Washington? Man up

Don The Con bet Don says this to himself every night

  14. Posted by ssn90, at Reply

Its a total misrepresentation — thanks to Trump, RNC has been quite
subsidized by using Trump hotels & Trump has himself put atleast $10
million into the campaign. They spent 1/3rd what Hillary spent on her
campaign… self dealing yes — but why rent a 3rd party hotel when it is
    going to cost more..?

TYT should try to find out the entire story…

    • Posted by g w, at Reply

No story should be bothered to be found. Even other hotels may cost more,
Trump hotel is still not a choice. This is like universal common sense.
Common sense comes with a reason. And now so many American people are
      derailing from common sense. Pathetic.

    • Posted by g w, at Reply

Now it seems that it is not true. So this common sense is well kept. Then
the question is that why you don’t think it is common sense and decide to
      defend it.
