A Scientology facility in Tennessee was closed down and three suspects have been billed. Ana Kasparian, Ben Mankiewicz, as well as Elegance Baldridge, the hosts of The Young Turks, tell you what occurred. Inform us what you assume in the comment area below.

" A group of psychological centers owned and also run by the Church of Scientology in Tennessee has been shut after regional cops discovered some patients being held against their will.

The Cannon Messenger, from Cannon Region, Tenn. as well as close by the Scientology centers, records that the structures are now permanently closed and 3 suspects have actually been charged.

" [We] want to make the general public of [the] county mindful that the Scientology facilities are closed and [not] operating," read a declaration launched by the Cannon Area Constable's Division.

Cops uncovered the facilities, which disappeared than little cabins and also one double-wide trailer, concealed in the wild as well as heavily secured. They defined the scene as "a gated, makeshift paddock protected externally with a steel lock."

Uh oh, it’s a religion of white people shut down by police, and not an Islamic center shut down. Prepare for the wrath of the “anti-SJWs.”

    • Posted by Taylor Jordan, at Reply

Rock Johnson sorry, what religion does the KKK follow? Or Aryian brotherhood, Nazis/neo-nazis? How about Westboro-Baptist Church who protests at the funerals of soldiers and LGTBQ people? Oh and yes, religious, white Americans are also marrying young children, it’s quite common in places like Virginia.

In case you don’t bother to read that article I’ll do a little summary: 4500 minors were married in Virginia between 2000 and 2013…220 of those minors were under the age of 15.

+The Progressive Atheist You can label everyone as you pussies are wont to do, but it doesn’t change the fact that you are the racist, you are the bigot, and you are the problem. You and people who believe the way you do should be re-educated or executed. The only other thing I can think of is deportation but you couldn’t hack anywhere else either because of your precious sensitivity.

It’s not even a real religion. It’s just a giant criminal organization,
pretending to be a religion. They’re clearly holding Tom Cruise and
John Travolta hostage, for those guys were forced to admit to their
homosexuality on tape, during their sessions with the Scientology goons.
    Tear this motherfucker down. Now.

You mean mosques. I’m not religious, but churches at least help people out. Mosques produce genocidal terrorists.

    • Posted by harvest1492, at Reply

Conservative Christian churches are very hateful too, don’t mention mosques without also mentioning the twin sister of lunatic Christianity who’s history includes slaughter and rape in the crusades and throughout history. Particularly in Europe against the Vikings and Celt/Gaul tribes.

What Scientology and Republican right-wing politics have in common, is that they prey on vulnerable people who are suggestible. Usually, its older, poorer, and socially isolated people.

    • Posted by Listenbuddy1, at Reply

+mshara1 You’re the kind of person Scientology is looking for.

    Religions are crazy nonsense.
    Wake up people.

  10. Posted by Zedek, at Reply

This is literally nothing new. This is their stated, standard practice. They have a multitude of remote facilities, and even ships, where they keep people and don’t let them leave, and don’t let them access any devices that would allow them to communicate with the outside world.

So many horror stories from former scientologists.

    • Posted by zempath, at Reply

I don’t get. Why, when there are horror stories, they are still open and operating?

    • Posted by The Zero Zero, at Reply

Cause they have money and money overrules law and justice.

    • Posted by E.D. E., at Reply

Because the First Amendment protects them. In a court case out of TX they actually argued that sending a dildo in the mail to harass an ex-member was protected under their 1A rights. SCOTUS agrees that they are a business and should be taxed. The church filed massive lawsuits (and possibly blackmailed+harassed) against the IRS and got them to cave and grant them tax exempt. Scientology even got protection other religions don’t have! Like the ability to sell Hubbards older fiction writings (yes, I know it is all fiction in reality) tax exempt.
Cross your fingers though, Leah Remini’s docuseries is shinning a huge light on them and FBI dox were just released confirming they were being investigated in 00’s., I have hope the end is near; it is long overdue.

    • Posted by John Muirsgrand, at Reply

Henry Townshed Scientology was not founded in California. As a matter of fact it is found throughout the world! 😳Russia will probably be denouncing this group soon as a religion, just like they did the other day with Jehova Witnesses. How progressive they are compared to US.

Wrong. People join cults, because not everyone identifies a certain group as a cult.

    • Posted by Astrobrant2, at Reply

“This cult won’t last much longer in the information age.”

I could see someone making that same claim about Trump getting elected. The problem with the “information age” is the _huge_ amount of MISinformation that people can get.

    • Posted by StripperLicker, at Reply

Astrobrant2 …like with the rise of Sovereign Citizens and Flat Earthers… The information age contributes to the gathering and mutual support of stupidity, delusion, and non-thinkers.
