Did the Republicans ever stop talking about Obama’s birth certificate or how he is a secret Muslim agent?!

    • Posted by Marco Polo, at Reply

There is actual proof that Obama has a fake birth certificate. The Russian conspiracy hoax was designed to get information on Trump and black mail him. But it didn’t work.

    • Posted by manhunt48, at Reply

So your entire argument is that you’re no better than the republicans. . . . Well done.

LMAO, they still think he and Hillary are progressive Marxists.

    • Posted by Logasm, at Reply

Making up stories, twisting facts, and obfuscating issues can lead to short-term political gains, but once you set these tactics in motion, they stay in motion. When they stay in notion they can cause untold damage. For example, Bush was able to lie his way into pillaging all of Iraq, and he got away with it. But we are still paying the price for those lies in money, in perpetual war, in the piles of dead. We will continue to pay for years to come.

We can go along with those lies and deceits concerning Russia and Trump. We might even succeed in getting rid of him if we’re Machiavellian enough. But once begun it can’t be stopped. And we do not control the outcome or the consequences.

    • Posted by Diva Artist, at Reply

qzamboni, the left has been aggressively attacked, divided, conquered, and remained too fragmented in its current state. People are clearly still infected by Nitpick-Thy-Sibling poison thanks to 2 years of aggressive multi-million global scale Putin-bot plague. You need a COHESIVE TEAM of flawed heroes with stronger FINANCIAL MUSCLES than Bernie, or Warren, or even Hillary. GET REAL, or GET EATEN. That’s all I have to say.

    • Posted by Blair Schirmerx, at Reply

+julian brown The real issue is Trump selling U.S. foreign policy to Putin, which puts millions of people at risk of falling under autocratic rule. That Tracey doesn’t seem to grasp what’s really at stake suggests he needs to start from scratch with this issue. These guys, all of them, need to start with the basics, such as reading’s reporting on the issue.

No, keep talking about them. That way when nothing gets proven people can chalk that up as an L to the media and Dems and not listen to them when they make any other claims.

    • Posted by BGTV, at Reply

Is it a loss? What is people’s obsession with THE DEMS, like they’re the enemy. This isn’t the NFL and neither party or the media is a TEAM where you can choose a SIDE. Media challenging government happens in DEMOCRACIES!!! It’s not like the world would be PERFECT if those two were out the picture, because there will always be someone to tell the TRUTH! You’ll never be able to discredit that as long as people like Trump and duplicitous people like the Dems exist! If you hate it SOOOO much, go to Russia where they kill you for talking out against their leaders.

    • Posted by Wayne Morgan, at Reply

+BGTV It’s a loss because Dems are stoking a narrative with no substantial evidence and acting unhinged with some calling for impeachment. They and the MSM push the Russia narrative 24/7 and if it falls over then so goes whatever little credibility they had left. They aren’t prosecuting the investigation and uncovering anything damning. The FBI is carrying out the actual investigation so unless the Dems have credible info leaked from that on an impending prosecution, why not wait before going all in and putting your cred on the line.

No one’s saying anything about the media not having the right to criticize the government. So I don’t get why you’re all riled up about the Russian boogeyman.

    • Posted by BGTV, at Reply

Some of that is a fair response…because that’s the reason why I don’t believe most of the things the GOP says now…and I’m not riled, but it’s hardly a loss or a discredit and that’s where we disagree. The media is just the bad guys now, because people can’t have EXACTLY what they want out of it. But what they want, isn’t exactly the most logical thing one could ask for. The truth is whenever the GOP loses at something, they just find another boogeyman. The media just reports what they do, and sometimes with a spin on what they believe. Period. People to me blame others for the wisdom that they lack to differentiate the truth from a lie.

I knew not to believe Donald Trump when it came down to most of the things he said not because I knew of the veracity of his ability to do things he promised, but because he didn’t need to become president to help out in any of the ways he proposed. He has power and money that goes a LONG way. I also know that just because I want something, doesn’t mean I should get it, because my choices sometimes affect other people at an unfair expense. But people are just now starting to get that he isn’t genuine after he’s obtained a position he knows nothing about. I don’t get how that’s EVER the media’s fault, even when it does twists facts. The truth was ALWAYS there…people just didn’t look for it because they felt like they didn’t have to. That has driven liberals and conservatives alike crazy. I just don’t believe that it’s fair to not make Trump and that party take responsibility for it by easing up on the pressure.

It would be wise not to make the same mistake twice, by minimizing this. If there’s nothing there, then there’s no harm done. The media cant hurt his credibility more than what Trump has already done to himself.

    • Posted by Wayne Morgan, at Reply

“if there’s nothing there then no harm done”
Yup, that right there is where we definitely disagree. The democratic party in lieu with the MSM are the driving forces behind making this powder keg. Disclosing any piece of information no matter how frivolous as if it strengthens them and makes indictment an inevitability. There’s a reason they lost major support after the election and there are more independents than ever. If this thing backfires it won’t be the Obama and Hillary faithful that drop support. They’re there till the ship has long sunk. It will be those independents/former Dems that will lose trust in them and the media.

    • Posted by BGTV, at Reply

You’re right in the MSM playing a part in this…but it doesn’t work the way you think it does. Remember, The MSM WORKED largely in Trump’s favor. You have people like Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, and Tomi Lahren still putting out twisted and distorted views, along with the fake news element at work, ALL working in Trump’s favor. They all say the same thing. Minorities are your problem, they need to work, they need to stop coming here illegally, and they need to stop committing crimes, and anyone in the government that supports them is your enemy. Obama was an easy scapegoat. Then you had corrupt Republican leaders already looking for more ways they could line their pockets. The Dems were telling the truth about the reasons why NOT to support Trump. But they forgot that entertaining LIES are more popular than the obvious truth, and America has an obsession with it. So they underplayed their hand with only a few libertarian news outlets saying the same thing. The mainstream media (not collectively) has been working for the past 8 YEARS, galvanizing more support with Obama haters, and people who felt like the weakest people in society were destroying the world. So when a guy like Trump moved in position, it was easy, but nobody thought the country would go this far to ignore the truth about Trump to impose what they believed was the “right thing” for everyone else…according to all the people I aforementioned.

Long story short, this is what happens when you go against conventional wisdom, and accept rhetoric and divisiveness as a living standard. Hillary and Obama are just the tip of that very nasty, and hateful iceberg. They are monuments to the sins of a nation that still beholds useless things to great value. But the fact is that, this Russia thing WILL NOT be the thing that makes the left lose their support or turn on the media. They still believe Trump has done other things that are just as bad, and will depend on the media to find the truth. Whatever that is anymore…

Why aren’t people talking about’s Trump’s (possibly intentional) INDISCRETIONS? Even if Trump “innocently” hired a Putin stooge who happened to be his sweet Russian neighbor living on 43rd floor of Trump Tower for the last 10 years, Manafort’s tie to Trump actually intensified AFTER his resignation! Trump should be impeached on endangerment of American lives and GROSS NEGLIGENCE alone. Why are we ignoring Trump’s refusal to increase his far-worse-than-emailgate smart phone security or his suspicious discard of White House visitor log?

Is Trump INTENTIONALLY acting slack as an deliberate act of anti-national-security? 🙂

It’s weird to have Progressives defend an autocrat, whose government has confirmed ties to cabinet members of a plutocrat, all for the purpose to criticize a democrat who lost in November. You CAN still believe Hillary Clinton was beholden to corporate donors while accepting the mounting circumstantial evidence that the Trump campaign and the Russian government at worst collaborated during the election or at best Trump indirectly got support from Russia to apply propaganda against the Clinton Campaign. You guys are behaving as if it’s Progressive sacrilege to accept both. Just like forming effective healthcare policy, it takes more than a handful of weeks to prove this.

Something is rotten in Washington DC. And if this is true, then it is high treason.

As a progressive myself the Russia thing is a HUGE ISSUE…literally a foreign country its meddling with Americans interests.. when Trump took office he took an oath…. Now you are telling me that regular americans are at the bottom line because its #RussiaFirst #CorporationsSecond #AmericansThird   ??? I thought that “agressive” progressives would be a little more aggressive about their sovereignty as a country… if you cant defend your OWN country from Russia, what makes them believe they can do something about big pharma, or money out of politics…

    • Posted by MRostendway, at Reply

arlekiel The reason why a lot of progresives are extra sceptical is because this all started with clinton people pushin this aggresively right after she got humiliated as a way of diverting the blame.

Its especially fucked up to progresives since they screwed bernie and then had the nerve to pretens as if she lost because of russia.

DrStealthbug, your comparison is a big fail. Clinton-Saudi is an angelic charity exercise next to Trump Inc’s blatant self-enriching schemes with corrupt Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran IRGC terrorist, Manila. Plain facts, no conspiracy theorizing required.
As to Trump-Russia, well here’s a third-grade level logic exercise, no dot connection skill needed! 🙂

Dmitry Rybolovlev paid Trump $100mil laundry feee for a $40mil mansion, flew all over to hang out with Trump at rally stops, secretly yachts with Robert Mercer – Trump’s No.1 uber-predatory-billionaire backer. Putin-Mercer stooges Roger, Page, Putin-ista Manafort currently under FBI probes, confirmed Putin-contractor billionaire Manafort is still a Trump Tower 43rd floor owner (as he has been last ten fxxking years), and Trump got even closer to Manafort after he resigned as campaign head!

Mercer henchman Roger Stone so upset Mike Flynn got caught and publicly yell at comrade Bannon! Oh the seams are breaking… It’s going to be fun watching them plea-bargain and tell on Trump and gang…. 🙂

Trump-Tillerson-Putin sub plot…next time. Trump-Flynn-Russia subplot, even richer!

    • Posted by Trek Ryder, at Reply

We all have to wait for the results of the ongoing investigations. I’ll point to one small indicator: the FISA court has seen enough evidence to give the feds permission to investigate. At this point, that’s plenty of smoke. Also Sen. Schiff has stated that they have more than circumstantial evidence of collusion with the Russians. And no offense, I take his word over yours. But I do like your “beating the pans” metaphor.

The common problem with high profile (or perhaps any) investigation is the the public assigns guilt before the process does. People did that to Hillary and do it to Trump and others. That fact should not stop the investigation; we should stop obsessing and assigning guilt before that is finished. Can we?

I am more than willing to accept that Trump is just an idiot that doesn’t know what is going on around him. However, Manafort is going to jail, and some of his other advisers may be too. An investigation of Trump is certainly warranted.
