+Hans Ludricht I never liked Obama or his bombing of the middle east. Meanwhile, you claim to hate globalists, but have no problem with Trump hiring numerous globalists for his cabinet positions. Destroying you imbeciles is way too easy. Seriously, have some principles and integrity. It goes a long way.

This is absurd. I’m gay and I thought it was funny. How the hell is this homophobic? Colbert I’m pretty sure is pro gay rights despite being a catholic Sunday school teacher. This is political correctness run a muck. This is the type of oversensitivity and outrage culture that was one of the reasons democrats lost the election. The left needs to stand up to the loonies among us, they make us look bad.

    • Posted by Just Someguy, at Reply

+Andrew Kohler It was said in this video that it was mostly right-wingers calling it homophobic, but the only name mentioned was Greenwald.

    • Posted by Andrew Kohler, at Reply

Just Someguy – I am actually referring to people I have seen in comments on the internet. Glenn Greenwald is the only public figure I have seen call it homophobic. Some folks on Fox News said it was either not that great a joke but not offensive or offensive, but no ton homophobic grounds. I haven’t conducted a broader survey.

As a gay man, I don’t understand how that joke’s homophobic. If anything, it’s kinda funny! Are people just not allowed to joke about straight people doing gay stuff?

    • Posted by Project Mobius, at Reply

+Dr Ren One of the best replies here – you explained it very well. The joke isn’t implying anything bad about being gay! The joke’s about how insane it is that the presidents of the U.S. and Russia have such a tight working relationship.

    • Posted by Tebigong101, at Reply

You do know that some of the people who don’t like certain jokes “get it” they just don’t appreciate the joke for whatever reason. At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter if you weren’t offended, especially when nothing was going to happen to Colbert anyway. Essentially you just openly sided against other gay people for no real reason than you needed to feel important.

    • Posted by Project Mobius, at Reply

+Tebigong101 I commented because I wanted to support the right for Stephen Colbert and other comedians to joke about gay sex, so long as it doesn’t come from a place of hatred (i.e., a joke implying gay sex is immoral). Colbert’s joke didn’t display any hatred for the act of gay sex, but rather distaste for the tight political bond Trump and Putin have.

I thought Trump supporters hated the PC crowd? Lol. In reality, they are as PC as it gets. I guess they follow in the footsteps of their ridiculous leader.

Both are triggered easily but the left is far worse, almost non stop triggered by something

    • Posted by flipmaya, at Reply

18Darkside it’s almost like people have their own experiences and look opinions that are different than yours and since it’s different, you may not understand it. Fancy that

so Gleen Greenwald is a Trump supporter now? you are dense

  6. Posted by Vit R, at Reply

It is not a “gay joke”
The only thing that is homophobic is the negative reaction.

    • Posted by axel ericastilla, at Reply

lmao now we get to the core of it arthur, i dont care that he won, it doesn’t affect me i’m the better sort ( canadian) and trump is already demonized as a racist fascist because of the words he said and used and the acts he’s done and supports. you’re just but hurt you not trumps cockholster 😉

    • Posted by Tebigong101, at Reply

There is indeed hypocrisy in Colbert’s use of the homosexuality in his joke but I think where the leeway comes in is compared to Trump and his associates we know he would not condone conversion therapy or the barbaric laws put in place in Africa with American conservative guidance and whatever inhumanity is happening in Chechnya. So you sound ridiculous decrying liberals given what conservatives the world over are doing.

I know the full context. It perfectly encapsulates the SJW mindset, so I will continue to use it. Hell, the quote was about how she had that mindset when she converted to social justice (yes, I’m referring to it as a religion).

    • Posted by Ungoogleable o_O, at Reply

The context was that you are living in systems of privilege and this makes you racist etc.

people need to relax and stop this wasn’t an attack towards LGBT community I’m Gay and I was not offended by this at all as a matter fact I find it great it was a joke towards Donald Trump and Donald Trump only and so there’s a lot of people getting upset this morning for no reason the only reason I could see is that you support Donald Trump and you really don’t like anyone talking about your Precious President in that way that’s the only reason I could see people getting upset over this other than that this Was Not an attack towards the LGBT community❕

Donstevec and even if it wasn’t funny, it still wasn’t homophobic lol that joke would’ve worked with another woman leader who wasn’t his wife, too.. The only way this is inappropriate is if you’re against sex jokes. No discrimination, right?

dancinkindofguy if a right wing COMEDIAN said anything I wouldn’t care lol just because comedians are producing better journalistism doesn’t mean they’re journalists, it just means our real journalists are that shitty at their jobs.

As a progressive Democrats, we have to stop being so damn sensitive and choosing to be outraged by everything we see and hear. This is another example of why Trump won. Stop attacking your own kind and consider the source.
