You have a point, but look what peaceful protest have gotten us. Violent revolutions have happen before when peaceful negotiations fail. Many people die which is a shame nor do any of us want it to happen, but it is getting to that point. Once the people finally unite, then it will happen. There are way to many people for them to stop and they know this that is way they are slowly trying to strip away our rights and dignity and keep us divided with fear, hopelessness, under the ever crushing weight of oppression. There will be a time when food it self is given to people on a certain level of social economic status. If these issues can be resolved led by peaceful means I’m sure everyone would be behind that, history shows different. Let hope that we can change that before all of this hits critical mass.

Just abolish the state. They’ll never learn.

For all of you guys who tout the success of nonviolent movements, you need to realize that they all had violent counterparts who put actual pressure on the establishment.

Non-violent movements needs a violent counterpart to succeed, otherwise they are just ignored and nothing gets done.

protesting oppression is a fundamental right in America…until the police roll up in military vehicles….and start cracking heads with batons.

    • Posted by Hazzycakes, at Reply

This is why we don’t need police or to pay taxes. It only adds to problems, not solutions.

    • Posted by G Washington, at Reply

Lisa Lowery the problem is, ‘protests’ by the people have turned into terrorism financially supported by foreign interests

    • Posted by Lisa Lowery, at Reply

    • Posted by Teethgrinder 83, at Reply

    • Posted by Chris Thornycroft, at Reply

Real question to my libertarian socialist, and anarcho-communist: at what point do we actually start fighting these right wing terrorist? We clearly see there are way too many, way to stupid, and way too powerful. They need to be eliminated and yet we take their bullshit endlessly. I think personally that peace is not always the answer, that sometimes an opponent must be literally beaten down to cause a fear that would last generations if not hundreds of years. That being said neo-libs and conservatives are basically actively passing policy that will collapse modern civilization if not completely endanger the survival of humanity. Ultimately I want as well a peaceful and prosperous and genuine freedom loving nation like Norway, or Sweden, but everyone has to take out the trash sometimes and I think we are rapidly approaching that injunction.

    • Posted by Eric Price, at Reply

+Michael Robertson NaySayer. The Status quo is not sufficient. I agree, a civil war will fix nothing, but continuing along this path will lead to the same fate. Complete destruction of the family and economy. Profit is the motivating factor and that leads to lack of sustainability. Waste is profitable in our system and that is not ok. Why are roof-top solar units being fought against after years of the power industry saying that solar is not feasible? Solar plants are being expanded. Why are there so many local laws against producing, and sharing your own goods? We are Represented by Corporate conglomerates. Everything is designed to support the corporate agenda, not the working class. We are not supposed to be self-sufficient by design… that is part of the problem. It is all done under the guise of protecting the common folk, and it is total nonsense.

    • Posted by Philip Mendez, at Reply

Michael Robertson Actually I know how to farm, and how to hunt, I’ve built several cars, I’ve learned basic smithing, wood working, glass working, and pottery. I know how to survive on my own indefinitely

    • Posted by Philip Mendez, at Reply

Michael Robertson And I expect a bloody civil war. So what millions may die horribly. Millions of chickens die annually too. What’s the difference? One we use to eat the other is a global threat. Sacrifices will always be made for the sake of what’s right. It’s you who don’t understand how serious I am.

    • Posted by TARDISblue, at Reply

Philip Mendez I agree, your idea is even found in inspiration for the U.S. Constitution: John Locke. It was him who said that we should try peacefully, but if it comes down to it, us citizens have a right to rebel, sometimes violently.
