Boundary Patrol representatives urge a teen to consume from a container including fluid meth. Cenk Uygur as well as Ana Kasparian simplify. Given you by A Troublesome Sequel: Truth To Power

Watch whole video here:

" Newly released security video clip shows a young adult drinking liquid methamphetamine, which he declared was juice to US Customs and Boundary Security representatives, shortly before he convulsed and also died from the drug. The teenager's family believe he was coerced by the representatives to consume the deadly substance.

Cruz Marcelino Velazquez Acevedo, 16, from Tijuana, was trying to enter the US at the San Ysidro Port of Entrance near San Diego on Nov. 18, 2013, when customs police officers asked him regarding 2 drink bottles of an amber-colored liquid in his backpack.

Velazquez Acevedo told the officers the containers had apple juice.

Officers didn't think him as well as did a first test on the fluid, however one that is not effective at disclosing fluid methamphetamine.

At a secondary evaluation website area, Velazquez Acevedo drank the liquid in an effort to confirm it was juice.

The new video, released by Velazquez Acevedo's family through their attorney Eugene Iredale, shows the teen, using a white hoodie, grab one of the bottles and also sip it. He took four sips of the liquid in total."

Well they didn’t force him to drink the meth. He was 16, they didn’t tell a 12 year old to drink it. I was intelligent enough at 16 to know that meth is bad.

To me it sounds that you’re advocating death penalty for being stupid and kid at the same time – I hope you remember that if your kid ever dies on “stupidity”. because usually opinions change when it’s someone you know or are related to…
And you’ve obviously haven’t never done something if authority tells you to?
After all they said him to drink it. But it’s not out of my tax money that law enforcement does things like that all the time it seems. 1 million dollars for settlement and let’s make America great again.

    • Posted by javialacarga, at Reply

They didn’t tell him to drink it, they told him to drink it if it truly was apple juice like he was claiming. They also didn’t execute him, he executed himself. The officers were probably reckless and he was just a kid after all, but what is incredibly annoying and irritating in your comment is that you seem to talk as if he had absolutely zero responsibility in what happened and everything is always someone else’s fault (ironically, the Trump defense). Drinking poison willingly when someone is asking you to drink what you’re claiming is juice if it really is juice is not ‘death penalty’

    • Posted by St. T.W.O, at Reply

Javialacarga – After he drank it they arrested him even though he was already in pain. So they did execute him in a way. Taking him first to custody and after – some period of time – they ordered ambulance. So basically they were thinking “let’s wait and see if that kid really is in pain.”
And if they knew that was liquid amphetamine… well then those officers are also sadists.

This did indeed happen 4 years ago, but I think the video footage was just made available, there was an episode of 20/20 about this story last weekend.

    • Posted by Sean Hayes, at Reply

Yes, it happened in November, 2013. It’s in the description & you can Google news stories from November 2013 (though most would be taken down by now). Imo, a couple new pictures & Facebook shares doesn’t make it new news, call me cynical.

“Imo, a couple new pictures & Facebook shares doesn’t make it new news, call me cynical.”

If by “cynical” you mean “breathtakingly stupid” then, yeah, you’re the biggest “cynic” trolling Youtube.

Experienced news editors and journalists clearly find recently surfaced images of a teenager drinking poison in front of US agents “newsworthy” and their experience makes their “opinions” rather more legitimate than some Youtube troll.

And by your idiotic standards, if photographic evidence of a 2nd Kennedy assassin holding a smoking gun on the grassy knoll surfaced now, 54 years after the event, it wouldn’t be newsworthy. #duh #moron

    • Posted by WikeddTung, at Reply

The images are “new”. Unless you can show them published in 2013. Which you’ve already shown you can’t. Troll.

“Would that be the Facebook commentary (TYT) or emotion porn peddlers (20/20)?”

As opposed to an anonymous youtube troll?
Btw, the link for the source of this story is NBC Sand Diego. If they aren’t legit for you either, post your credentials that make your opinion relevant. We’ll wait. Troll.

I am glad he won’t be corrupting children. And you know what, you can’t rape girls and women if they stay in Mexico. I mean you are blaming the cops and not the criminals.

the “fool” did not have a fully developed brain. your brain does not fully develop till the age of 26. yes you are conservative because you are ignorant of science and you use logical fallacies like affirming the consequent. btw, if you choose to use drugs you cant blame other people for your problems. that is called PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY RIGHT WINGER.

    • Posted by Jay Kay, at Reply

mkrulic517439 Lmao, you literally just contradicted yourself in your own paragraph. You said this kid shouldn’t be responsible for what he did because he was 16 and didn’t have a fully developed brain (so let’s not hold anyone under 26 responsible) but then when the above comment mentioned getting our kids addicted to meth, you said it’s your own choice no one else’s. I’m assuming the kids are under 26, so wouldn’t that make them not responsible for their own actions like you literally just said two seconds ago?

    • Posted by Billy Skidmore, at Reply

Fully Developed brain.. I am sorry even dogs know not to drink poison. Are you saying he is less developed then a dog. I am sorry your snow flake culture can’t accept that sometimes we should just let the stupid off themselves.

  13. Posted by YangBalanceYin, at Reply

Ok this is just natural selection at it’s finest… I refuse to feel sorry for someone who tried to smuggle meth, lie about it, and then be stupid enough to drink it to prove it. I do agree that security absolutely should have called in some medical assistance, but this wasn’t some “innocent” kid who was “forced” to drink meth for some thug patrol guards. This was a moron who would rather die by drinking TOXIC chemicals than just admit he was smuggling drugs. Simple as that.

Hard to feel sorry for what appeared to be an entrepreneurial drug mule in the making. That liquid meth would have gone on to irreversibly-damage a countless amount of dopamine neurons, thus, greatly-increasing the risk of developing Parkinson’s Disease (among other things).

Don’t get me wrong – the poor soul’s final moments must have been agonizing, and the agents should have confiscated the “apple juice” to run further tests, but I digress.

    Case closed
    But justice may never served
Those people say that drug smuggler deserved it he definitely was just a mule and underage definitely his punishment wasn’t death penalty but looks like we live in the world judge dread who is judge jury and executor this comic world you lived in can’t be called a civil society

    • Posted by Omegapede Prime, at Reply

+Nez, way to take it to racism. It’s obvious who is the racist here. There isn’t any effective treatment for a meth overdose. Getting him to the hospital sooner wouldn’t have changed anything and border security aren’t trained doctors. They have no way of knowing what the “apple juice” was, how concentrated it was, how much he actually swallowed, what the lethal dose is, and what treatment is available. But like I said, the kid committed suicide. There is nothing a doctor could have done.

    • Posted by Skowedey, at Reply

Nez, he was in a hospital after drinking this. If you had bothered to care enough to do research you would have known that. I realize thinking is hard, and its so easy to be a race-baiter but this kid did this to himself after deciding to try and smuggle drugs. No one forced him to drink it, it is all on him.

    • Posted by Em See, at Reply

    • Posted by G. L., at Reply

He was just a teen, not ‘Walt’ the mastermind. Authorities couldn’t establish that he was complicit; because much of the time the ‘mules’ aren’t. They’re convinced it won’t be an issue at the border…or they or their families are threatened.

This isn’t about keeping drugs out. This is about making a spectacle of ‘catching’ the small drug smuggler…the diversion…while the actual drug smugglers cross without incidence.

    • Posted by chris toledo, at Reply

E.G. JOHN SOME cause there are laws on how to handle this types of situations and because they didn’t handle it properly this cost the government and the tax payers 1million dollars! Even if you don’t care about the guy should care about the money

Law enforcement isn’t supposed to let people die when they know that they’ve just done something that will be lethal to them. This kid should have been given medical attention and then taken in to custody. Note: I’m pro capital punishment but only for convicted criminals and for capital offences.
