The Trump administration has formally rolled back securities for individuals who have defaulted on pupil loans. The securities impacted around 7 million customers. Ana Kasparian as well as Cenk Uygur break down on The Young Turks. Inform us what you assume in the comment section below.

Read more here:

" Days after a record on federal student lendings disclosed a double-digit increase in defaults, Head of state Trump's administration withdrawed federal assistance Thursday that barred student financial obligation collectors from billing high charges on past-due lendings.

The Education and learning Department is getting assurance companies that gather on defaulted financial obligation to disregard a memorandum former President Barack Obama's management provided on the old bank-based federal lending program, referred to as the Federal Family Education Lending (FFEL) Program. That memo forbid the firms from charging charges for approximately 16 percent of the principal as well as accrued interest owed on the loans, if the debtor went into the government's finance rehabilitation program within 60 days of default.

The Obama administration issued the memorandum after a circuit court of allures requested support in a case versus United Student Help Finances (U.S.A Funds) challenging the evaluation of collection expenses. Bryana Bible took the firm to court after being charged $4,547 in collection expenses on a funding she defaulted on in 2012. Though she had authorized a "rehab agreement" with U.S.A Finances to set a reduced payment routine to solve her debt, the company analyzed the charges." *.

Sadly, trump supporters will not suffer from this. Considering most of them didn’t graduate high school

OxyPvpi Flex – That’s unfair. They graduated high school, there were just no standards so they were allowed to graduate with a third grade education.

@Spoder Boy: These are LOANS. They get paid back. You may not be aware, but banks don’t generally give loans to young people with no credit history, so the Gov’t backs them. Why? Because the most educated countries win economically and socially – but I will note that most Republicans are too stupid to figure that out.

whyamimrpink78 – Until you find out that you now have cancer because the house you just had beautifully remodeled was built on top of an old lead smelting factory. You quickly find out your health insurance doesn’t cover any of the treatment (because Trump will probably deregulate them as well). The cancer leaves you unable to work long enough that you fall behind on your student loans and they get bought by a private company that fines and fees you into your grave. But I’m sure you have a plan for that too.

Hillary would have never done this. Republicans are the enemy of the American people.

    • Posted by Kyle Ruth, at Reply

Rog Pan Every single trade deal, including NAFTA, was voted for by a majority of republicans in both the house and senate and voted against by a majority of democrats in both the house and senate. Today, the vast majority of democrats in both the house and senate voted for bringing in cheaper pharmaceutical drugs from Canada, against TPP, for card check for unions, for increased education funding, for ending tax cuts for corporations that ship jobs overseas, etc. The vast majority of republicans in both the house and senate voted against bringing in cheaper pharmaceutical drugs from Canada, for TPP, against card check for unions, for cutting education funding, turning Medicare, social security and public education into a voucher system and privatizing them, voted against ending tax breaks for corporations that ship jobs overseas, for dumping coal into rivers (ending job creating regulations), for ending class action lawsuits (so far has only been passed in the house by exclusively republican votes (the vast majority of republicans voted for it))

    • Posted by Kyle Ruth, at Reply

Rog Pan That is a false equivalency. There is no overlap of members of either party in terms of ideological scores. The most conservative Democrat, Joe Manchin, who votes with Trump 73% of the time, is more moderate than the most moderate Republicans, who vote with Trump at a minimum of 84% of the time. Other than Joe Manchin and a few blue dog democrats, corporate democrats like Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, etc. are in no way comparable to Republicans, even though they have flaws. Nancy Pelosi, for example, every single year under Obama introduced legislation to end tax breaks for corporations that ship jobs overseas and replace them with tax breaks for corporations that bring jobs back to America from abroad. She also introduced card check, so that workers can democratically choose to form a union by vote. I could go on and on. These bills were all filibustered in the senate by republicans.

    • Posted by Rog Pan, at Reply

Kyle Ruth I’m not saying I support Republicans or anything. I’m glad they are a dying party because most of they’re ideas are either outdated, illogical, or centered around corporate interests. The most respectable Republicans are Libertarians, mainly because of social issues and foreign policy. However, the establishments Dems, like Joe Manchin, Schumer, Brooker and the like, are better than Reps on some social issues, buts that about it. Too many of them supported TPP and voted against cheaper pharmaceuticals earlier this year. Also, DEM president Bill Clinton was passed NAFTA too, so its no surprise Hillary supported TPP(before she flipped flopped when she saw it was unpopular). Hillary and Obama were corporate whores and their foreign policy was criminal. Those Neolibs stood by idly while Obama locked up journalists and whistle-blowers more than any other president combined. Plus, under those Neolibs college tuition is still ridiculously high, police brutality is worse than ever, private prison pop.was thriving, and the failed war on drugs was in full swing. They took forever to make a statement about the protesters in ND getting beaten to a pulp. I stand by my claim that these people are ALSO, serious enemies of the American people(unless you’re rich) and must be stopped, just like Trump and his cronies.

GO TO A CHEAPER SCHOOL. IT’S THAT SIMPLE. That may mean you cant go to your dream school, boohoo.

    • Posted by Sam Stiglitz, at Reply

There are NUMEROUS medical schools with tuition around 20k/yr. Go establish residency, then apply there.

    • Posted by Jonathan, at Reply

What are you talking about? Are you this ignorant that don’t understand how the process works?
First off there are barely any schools are that cheap
Only public are that cheap and the thing about the public medical schools is they have first come basis for their *state applicants*. Such as Ohio school for osteopathic medicine giving 98% of the seats to state residents.
So off the bat, unless you live in the states(the few may I add), you are out of luck.
The bigger problem is even if you apply to medical school, there are around 6k applications per schools(this is on the low end). More established schools can have around 11k applicants(such as AZCOM). Medical schools usually accept around 150 students(a few schools accept 230 or so just as Kansas city). So that means they accept around 2.5%-3.8% assuming the lower end of application
Why tell you this? I’m sure you know nothing of the process but it’s a complete crap shoot, that means an average student may apply to 20-40 medical schools and get back around 5-6 interviews and then an average of 1-2 acceptances in that range(of course it varies depending on many factors, just average).
Meaning most likely you don’t get the choice to say “You know what schools, I want 20k tuition” unless you want to tell all the schools that accepted you no which will show on your application and possibly destroy your chances of ever becoming a doctor.

Again if you know nothing of the process, then you may not want to comment on it. It’s fairly obvious that you don’t, so why not leave it to people who actually do understand it?

So you’re whining you’re not competitive enough? And whining about the costs?

Let me ask you this. Why would they waste a spot on you? You seem like a loser. If you are that poor, there are plenty of scholarships for low income students with high MCATS and GPAs.

It sounds like you’re just mediocre.

6 out of the 10 cheapest schools are in Texas. Move to Texas, establish residency (while working and saving) then apply. You expect it to be easy, yet you’re not even competitive enough to compete for scholarships.

    • Posted by Sam Stiglitz, at Reply

And all of those Texas medical schools have below average MCAT and GPA statistics comparatively.

So, you cant compete for those schools? They’re easier to get into almost certainly than your 75k/year school.

But honestly he is going to go down as the most Curupt president ever. He clearly doesn’t know how things work on the hill. Not only that he really doesn’t care about the average working people. Most of his supporters would argue he’s a great business man. Well that’s debatable in my eyes. I didn’t vote for him because he’s a con artist. It was clear to me then and even more clear now. It’s a difference between making mistakes and being malicious in your actions on what your doing and who your screwing. Every president made mistakes because all where human. But his so called make America great again a bid is getting old looking at his choices and actions. He acts like a child at times and thinks this is a business. Well in a business ran like he runs his that would make him a dictator. That’s not how this country works. And im registered and always been registered as unaffiliated.

Bernie Sanders or Jill Stein would have saved the country from this debt that is crippling our growth. There is no new middle class because the mortgage crisis that crashed the economy. Capitalism is failing us because the corruption of our politicians.

    • Posted by Matt Brown, at Reply

As someone who is currently in upper level finance/economy classes, please stop listening to Bernie Sanders. I think he’s a great man with beautiful ideas that could change this country for the better, but they’re not economically feasible. If you don’t believe me, just ask your local economics professors what they think about him. Regardless of political affiliation, I think you’ll find the same answer: he can’t be taken seriously. Now as far as non-economic policies, he was the best candidate hands down. He was actually trying to unite the country, which made him an easy choice for me.

    • Posted by Jim is the man, at Reply

Hentai: The mortgage crisis didn’t kill the middle class: it was already on its death bed due to tax and regulatory policy moving wealth to the uber class. The mortgage crisis just added to the massive problem.

Capitalism works best when you spread the wealth and create a stronger and larger middle class. THIS would have made America greater. Bernie proposed a higher tax on the very rich to help increase and strengthen the middle class by making college more affordable for more people, using that revenue.
EVEN the very rich would have benefited as the WHOLE country would have been made greater.
