Trump's pretend-to-investigate-voter-fraud-to-bolster-voter-suppression group really desires your social security number. Ana Kasparian, Michael Shure, as well as Mark Thompson, hosts of The Young Turks, talk about. Inform us just what you think in the comment section listed below.

" A board that Head of state Donald Trump convened to explore citizen fraudulence has started asking political election officials in particular states for signed up citizens' names and personal details.

The compensation, which is formally charged with examining political election honesty, sent out a letter to political election officials on Wednesday. Members asked authorities to offer "openly readily available voter roll data," consisting of the "full first as well as last names of all registrants, middle names or initials if available, addresses, dates of birth, political event (if taped in your state), last four numbers of social safety and security number if available, citizen history (political elections voted in) from 2006 onward, active/inactive standing, terminated status, info concerning any type of felony sentences, information pertaining to citizen enrollment in an additional state, details concerning military status, and also abroad resident details."" *.

The right to vote is granted by the Constitution ONLY to US CITIZENS of 18 years of age or older, NOBODY else. Not 15-year-olds, not illegal aliens or tourists who happen to visit the US on election night. Voter ID requirement doesn’t mean some personal information is open to public eye. You don’t seem to mind giving your personal information such as your full name, address or SS# to your employer, doctor, bank, DMV or even when just purchasing a fishing license, but oppose to it ONLY when it’s suppose to eliminate voter fraud. By the same token, the “oppressed” illegals and minorities don’t mind sharing the personal information with the welfare office to get food stamps or schools, but, for some reason, proving their eligibility to vote and elect our president is all of a sudden an outrageous human rights violation. Do you know of ANY country in the world where US citizens can just come as they please and vote for their president? Yeah, didn’t think so… Liberals seem to be obsessed with non-existent Russian interference in our elections, but don’t seem to object to voter fraud anywhere else – as long as it’s to their benefit. Hypocrisy at its finest.

The most dangerous thing about it is that they will publish your voting record. What then if an employer made your continued employment contingent upon how you voted? What if, upon publication, an employer checked the voting records and fired everyone who’s record displeased them? Also, this could affect whether or not you’re hired. What if the police or a judge or a jury could check your voting record? This is so unamerican in so many ways. From the comments, it seems Trump supporters are willing to go along wit it just because it’s their party pulling it off.

There is no fraud occuring, it is just another way to limit who can vote. Less than 0.01% fraud is not an issue, and would change zero outcomes…..

    • Posted by zachary borodkin, at Reply

True. But if people can’t vote, the other issues become irrelevant since the opposition will always maintain the majority. The voting commission and single payer are opportunities for dems to stand for the people instead of against Trump. It’s why voters have difficulty siding with Dems.

Jay Kay I cannot say I hate the Donald. What I despise is is self centered behavior, his tweets, his use of foreign dollars regardless the source or what it may have been involved with, and I hugely dislike his compulsion to twist facts until they fit his psyche along with his vindictiveness. Other than that I think he is a pretty cool dude suffering from signs of dementia. Oh and I almost forgot, I don’t care for his objectification of women and how he despises being one upped by them. They are not his toys nor his possessions…. regardless of what he may think.

  18. Posted by hermenutic, at Reply

If the vote is private how is it that there is information available on the voting of Amerikans.

    • Posted by BOSS NASS, at Reply

It tells you which elections you voted in. But not who you voted for.

    • Posted by hermenutic, at Reply

anyway you look at it data is a potential weapon depending on who is doing the interpreting. I can’t be blown off that easy.

On the surface it seems there is nothing to worry about. But when all the relationships involved are brought to view and ‘big data’ is involved a lot of privacy can and will be disappeared.

Perhaps the emerging paradigm of society encourages an abandonment of the concept of privacy,.

I’m glad I’m old and will not live to see the bitter fruit this proposition produces. I’m fearful for my kids and grandkids. They have to deal with it.

Technically, there were just 4 cases of illegal voter fraud reported from the 2016 election (out of 136.7 million votes), but of those 4, 3 were for Trump (including a Colorado RNC chairman) and only 1 was for Clinton. There was also a study done earlier this year (though I can’t remember where) that said going back to the 1970s, there have only been 40-50 cases of voter fraud, and around 80% were committed by Republican voters. Remember, according to our Constitution (the document that has the laws that all Americans are supposed to follow) if you are an immigrant (legal or illegal and from any country) you can’t vote in our elections because only registered citizens can. Furthermore, if you are caught voting illegally, you could go to jail for up to a decade and pay a fine in the tens of thousands. So risking 10 years in prison for 1 additional vote isn’t as easy/worth it as President Trump made it sound. Now, is voter fraud real? Yes. But does it make any real difference? No. So any Republican politician that argues we need to make stricter voting laws to end voter fraud, remind them that their party is the 1 who “benefits” from it.
