Trump is claiming that the Gulf states rebuke of Qatar was his concept. Ana Kasparian, John Iadarola, and Jimmy Dore, the hosts of The Young Turks, simplify. Tell us what you believe in the comment section listed below.

" WASHINGTON– President Trump thrust himself right into a bitter Persian Gulf disagreement on Tuesday, claiming credit for Saudi Arabia's move to separate its smaller next-door neighbor, Qatar, which is a major American military companion.

" During my current trip to the Middle East I specified that there can no longer be financing of Radical Ideology," Mr. Trump claimed in an early morning tweet. "Leaders indicated Qatar– look!"

On Monday, Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen broke diplomatic as well as industrial connections with Qatar, mentioning its assistance for terrorist teams. Mr. Trump, who made the cutting of terrorist moneying a focal point of his journey to Saudi Arabia in Might, said he was accountable.

" So great to see the Saudi Arabia go to with the King and 50 nations already settling," the president stated on Twitter. "They claimed they would take a difficult line on funding."

P̷s̷ʏ̷ᴄ̷ʜ̷ᴏ̷ᴛ̷ɪ̷ᴄ̷ R̷ᴀ̷ɪ̷ɴ̷ʙ̷ᴏ̷ᴡ̷ᴢ̷ Saudis, as in members of the house of Saud which runs Saudi Arabia, are terrorists. Regular people who live in that country are not really Saudis. The country is named after its royal family, which is in itself disgusting.

Lefebvre Julien when American air strikes kill hundreds of innocent civilians, is that not terror? Dressing it up as unfortunate collateral damage doesn’t change the grim reality on the ground. If the west got out of the Middle East, stopped buying their oil, stopped supplying them arms, let them settle their own differences, well maybe there would be fewer terrorists. But I don’t know anything.

ANony Mouse No the problem is Congress throwing our money into the military, illegal wars, the pockets of the rich, and putting they’re bills on the government credit card. We owe 22+ trillion dollars because of all of that. Thanks Reagan, Clinton, Bush, and Obama. Your reasons are all different but thanks to your actions the country is on the verge of falling apart and Trump is eager to drive us off a cliff.

It’s not complicated Ana, Qatar funds terrorism. You and tyt always want to focus on the Saudi funding of terrorism but as you are buddy buddy with the Qatari funded Aj+ you carry it’s water. Stop trying to narrow the focus to hamas as they fund terrorism all over the world.

    • Posted by sportsfan723, at Reply

Let’s face it, he still doesnt know it exists. Wouldnt know how to pronounce it, would have to have someone draw him pictures. Then would probably say Qatar called him to tell him they’re impressed with his electoral college victory and how he’s doing such a tremendous job. Then will invite Qatar’s leaders over to the oval office for some intel and covfefe

This has nothing to do with terrorism. Saudi Arabia and other gulf monarchies don’t like Qatar because Qatar is a significant power in the Arab world that supported several rebel groups during the Arab Spring both financially and through its globally expanding media group, Al Jazeera Media Network. They also helped groups supported by Iran in Saudi Arabia’s eastern province of Qatif. For its size, Qatar wields disproportionate influence in the world that Saudi Arabia would like to see diminished. The royal families don’t want to see rebellions and revolutions in their country or next door which is why the Gulf Cooperation Council quashed the revolution in Bahrain. Also, Saudi would like to limit Qatari economic power as a rival oil producer. Obama was tough on Saudi Arabia. He kept them as an ally but held them at arm’s length due to their abysmal record on human rights. By Trump going to Saudi Arabia and doing a $110 billion arms deal, he has basically given them license to do what they want. Not surprisingly, they are using this opportunity strategically to wield more power in the region and justify their actions by saying they are doing it to fight terrorism. Trump believes this because he knows nothing of foreign policy. He didn’t even consider that we have a massive military base in Qatar and that they are a strategic regional ally before he took credit for Qatar’s abandonment in a recent tweet.

    • Posted by Batchplz, at Reply

At least Trump got a quid pro quo out of the deal. Obama sells 100 billion in weapons to Saudi Arabia for free.
