Trump claimed he would not cut Medicare or Social Security. He lied. Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian, hosts of The Young Turks, talk about. Tell us exactly what you think in the comment area below.

Find out more below:

" Residence Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) said Wednesday that congressional Republican politicians will intend next year to reduce costs on both government health care as well as anti-poverty programs, pointing out the need to decrease The U.S.A.'s deficiency.

" We're mosting likely to need to come back following year at entitlement reform, which is how you deal with the financial obligation as well as the shortage," Ryan stated during an appearance on Ross Kaminsky's talk radio show. "… Truthfully, it's the healthcare privileges that are the big vehicle drivers of our financial obligation, so we invest even more time on the health care privileges– because that's truly where the issue lies, fiscally talking."" *.

Hmm…cut entitlements, and raise taxes on the poor, but cut taxes on the rich and corporations. Yep, smells like more GOP bullshit.

scotaloo7 7g7 – Duh, I worked for one of those companies. They always give out bonuses. Most of the companies that claimed they will raise their minimum wage to $15 per hour we’re going to be mandated by state laws to raise their wages anyway. That’s what you get for watching fake news.

+ra5928 Yet another guy that doesn’t understand politics. They can’t pass the bill if the cuts didn’t expire because it will increase the deficit. By the point they expire, Republicans will cut government spending so the cuts don’t increase the debt. Then it’s pretty much impossible for anyone to raise taxes. So basically they rushed to cut taxes.
Cutting Medicare and Medicaid wouldn’t completely get rid of them and they gave us tax cuts so we can spend our money on healthcare. That’s basically the most basic thing about the right on this issue, they believe that people are better at spending their money than the government.
I’m young? Really? You don’t understand politics and you let the left brainwash you by only listening to them yet I’m the young one?
I don’t care about your opinion. You didn’t work for them. Those companies do not always give bonuses. Not every state has a 15$ minimum wage and they were not going to do that you idiot. What about them hiring more people? Are you know going to claim that they were going to do it anyways?
All of these comments are just pathetic excuses. You hate Trump and republicans therefore nothing they do could ever be positive in your eyes. It’s always bad or neutral. You’re nothing but a pathetic propagandist that does nothing but lie.

It’s only the GOP that will tell you that you’re not entitled to those very entitlements you’ve paid into. It’s only the GOP who will hand your hard earned money to the rich. Most thieves serve time in prison for grand theft. Not the GOP. They are essentially an organized crime syndicate who’s in desperate need of being prosecuted under the RICO Act.

You all say “Let us in” when it comes to medicare, and that we shouldn’t have to wait until 65 to get it. Should we then say “Let us in” when it comes to social security? Should SSI become a universal basic income?

Stephen Mystery that is an interesting argument to be had in a no so distant future…

What pisses me off , Social Security has never contributed to the national debt , congress has used Social Security funds as their “piggy bank” to resolve spending issues over the years , leaving “I.O.U’s” in their wake . If congress was to put back the money they’ve borrowed from Social Security Trust Funds , the program would be solvent . President Johnson gave us Medicare supported by congress back during his administration and myself and everyone else who uses Medicare , still has to pay into it , and what Medicare dosen’t pay for , the remainder comes out of our pockets again ! Paul Ryan and the rest of the GOP establishment would love nothing better than to take away all that there is to give to their rich friends and corporations for their tax scam that they’ve passed . The problem is , they’ll have a huge fight with American seniors and myself . I’ve called & wrote my elected officials , they know where I stand …..

Well, who didn’t know this would happen. Yes, many of my generation I’m ashamed to say supported Dump. IDK WTF happened to their ideals & morals most of us had in the 60s & 70s when we fought for civil rights, women’s rights & to get America out of Vietnam. AARP who backed Dump in the election is now having 2nd thoughts on the matter with Medicare & SS poised to be gutted. Dumb fucks….they helped to put us into the position we are in now. Just remember….not all seniors voted for Dump. There are many of educated & intelligent seniors who could see Dump & the ratpubliklans for what they are & didn’t vote for them.

I don’t want the cuts, but there’s something so sweetly ironic about all these old Trumptards in Florida and Arizona that so consistently vote for a party that so consistently tries to slash their own benefits 😂

America spends like a trillion dollars on military every year and has spent tens of trillions of dollars on needless wars, but it just doesn’t have the money to take care of the elderly and the disabled. What a disgrace! Ironically they also like to criticize Kim Jong-un for starving his people to develop nuclear weapons. Are they projecting or what?

  18. Posted by Juwoki, at Reply

Donny, you said yourself the “tax reform” should be called “tax cut”.
Only fair to do the same to “welfare reform”. Just call it, what it really is: *”Welfare CUTS”*

Welfare? Entitlement? I paid for my Social security. I paid for my Medicare.
Able bodied? Older people are not lazy bums just disincentivized to work.
Take away all the money Ryan has received for his vote. Put him on the street, let him get a job.
