Donald Trump has chosen his ambassador to Israel: bankruptcy lawyer David Friedman. He's a disaster and a mess. SAD. Cenk Uygur, host of The Young Turks, breaks it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.

"Friedman, co-chair of Trump’s Israel advisory committee, a supporter of Israel’s far-right political fringe and the illegal occupation and annexation of Palestinian lands, brands Jews who support a peaceful resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with a two-state solution as “worse than Kapos.” Charging someone with being a “Kapo” is one of the deepest insults one Jew can use to target another.

Kapos were prisoners, sometimes Jews, who aided Nazi guards in policing World War II concentration camps and tried to save their own lives at the expense of other helpless people. After World War II, the State of Israel passed an Israeli Nazi and Nazi Collaborators (Punishment) Law. Under this law, trials were held between 1951 and 1964 for people accused of being prison camp Kapos.

Freidman was a strong Trump supporter in the presidential campaign. At a pro-Trump rally in Jerusalem, Friedman suggested, without any evidence, that Hillary Clinton’s aide Huma Abedin had ties to Islamic fundamentalists because she is a Muslim.

According to a report in the New York Times, Friedman rejects the formation of an independent Palestinian state, believes it would be legal for Israel to annex the occupied West Bank seized in 1967, supports building new Israeli settlements there and wants to move the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The U.S. and much of the world currently condemn these actions as illegitimate and an obstacle to long-term peace in the Middle East."*

“The claims of an Armenian Genocide are not based on historical facts. If
the history of the period is examined it becomes evident that in fact no
    such genocide took place.”

This is very dangerous to Israeli’s…. The American public is already
becoming more pro Palestinian especially with Netanyahu and other right
wingers leading. This may push them over the edge… And if Israeli’s lose
American backing they’re done. I give it 4 to 8 years.

+liedetector101 Well the global consensus for start but look at American
opinion polls, they are clearly shifting. The left understands the
Palestinian oppression. The right wing used to be a bastion for Israel…
But now many have become severely anti-Semitic. If Israel keeps breaking
international laws it’s not going to go well. I have friends in Israel who
are even against their government. It’s not a jew vs muslim thing, most can
see It’s a world vs right wing Zionist Government and it’s major ally
      America. It’s quite simple.

+red pill All I see is Arabs who have 21 countries wont let the Jews have 1.

    • Posted by red pill, at Reply

+liedetector101 Yes and people are capable of seeing countries as each
different. What you’re doing now is stereotyping countries that have Arab
populations as all being the same.

+red pill they all vote the same in UN always against Israel. And have
meetings on how to get rid of Israel and have attacked Israel and tried to
      destroy it many times.

+liedetector101 They all don’t vote the same way in the UN, in general…
But when it comes to isreal, they vote against Israel, I would agree… But
so do most other nations. As for them attacking Israel, the arab majority
countries that attacked Israel say in the 40s all had different reasons.
Trans Jordan just wanted to take the west bank. Egypt claimed they wanted
to help the Palestinians who were being persecuted at that time, since many
acts of mass expulsion and terrorism for example Dier Yassin had already
taken place. And in 67 the Israeli war commission admitted they committed
mass expulsion in 1948 they were aware of the ethic cleansing in
1948… and they were trying not to replicate this, instead they would try
to make a big open air prison- this is what was said by Ilan Pappé an
      Israeli.
Many in Israel today see the west bank and Gaza as their own, and will not
see it be given to the Palestinians as the global consensus thinks it
should be. No wonder the world would vote against an Israel who has these
      sentiments.

It’s endlessly amusing to me how a people oppressed for centuries are now
oppressing Palestinians with impunity. Have they learned nothing from
    history?

    • Posted by Aryeh Armon, at Reply

You don’t know what your talking about. how are they exactly oppressing the
Palestinians? do you know anything about the conflict?

    • Posted by Hyden Royce, at Reply

      you.

Quote: The Obama administration has been highly critical of Israeli
settlement construction in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. Well,
apparently not enough to stop them or do much of anything other than moan
and then send another $5billion in military aid.

If the situation was reversed and Israel had lost the war…I wonder if
they would be speaking for a two state Israeli independence against the oil
rich Arab coalition that had won!

  17. Posted by Angry Misanthropist Freak, at Reply

If David stands for peace and maintaining unbreakable bonds between us and
Israel of all places then it doesn’t really make sense that Trump of all
people would appoint him. Since he’s an isolationist scumbag I would have
thought he would appoint some homicidal psychopath who loves to kill
    foreigners.
