What’s wrong, Trump supporters? His doctor said he’s in perfect mental health. He should have no problem talking to Mueller. Isn’t he, like, really smart?

    • Posted by AXIOM 16, at Reply

Michael Aronson-You are not very smart.
“Never, never, never — I can’t say never enough — let your client sit down with the prosecutors who are trying to develop a case against him,” Napolitano said. “Never expect them to be fair, never expect them to tell everything that they know. You will never know, and your client — the president — will never know everything that they know about him. It’s a recipe for disaster.”

      “You are not very smart.”

You didn’t explain why not. You just quoted Fox News.

+AXIOM 16 What the hell does that quote have to do with this situation? For Trump to commit perjury, he’d have to be under oath, meaning testifying. Just “sitting down with prosecutors” to talk will absolutely not result in any sort of perjury. In that situation, he could lie all he wants and it’s not illegal. Now…who’s not very smart here? Seems like it’s you.

As long as Trump leads with I’m like a very stable genius and I would like to date my daughter. He should be alright 🤔

      “Date”

His problem actually comes from being a confabulater (Psychiatric definition). He has no idea he’s lying so he says anything that comes to mind.

    • Posted by Cheryl Carter, at Reply

      That’s it!

I’m just afraid they’ll use that to get him out of perjuring himself. Blame the condition, then fight it in court. It might just end up like it did with Clinton arguing what the definition of “is” was…

Anyone care to explain the concept of a perjury trap? They are going to ask you to tell the truth. Perjury only happens when you decide to disregard that and go ahead and lie. Where does the trap come in?

    • Posted by Scott Hall, at Reply

Kind of an oxymoron, but then again, they’re dealing with a moron.

The investigation punished two innocent people for perjury. Just because they contradicted themselves on statements that broke zero laws. The investigation is a farce that ruined the lives of two innocent men.

XD Stop baiting the president, Cenk! It’s not fair to manipulate someone way dumber than you. Although I really wonder, how can some two bit lawyer silence the greatest president in the history of the US? Has he become soft? Is he scared of Mueller? Ha he lost confidence in his own intelligence? I am shocked that a great man like he can be so easily defeated. He looks kinda weak right now and I thought he was cool…

Ohh we should start tweeting the toddler hinting that his lawyer thinks he can’t face mueller, his lawyer thinks mueller is smarter, his lawyer will do anything to stop trump meeting mueller to prove how awesome he is… oh and his lawyer says mueller is scared of cameras so don’t tell him to film it all, cos you’ll make mueller cry.

The tangerine toddler will be off to see mueller to prove his excellence… and we get to go buy popcorn and wait.

A “Perjury Trap” is a misnomer. It’s only perjury if the FBI or the counsel discovers that you lied while under oath or during questioning afterwards. You literally can’t commit perjury until the actual questioning is done. Thus referring to it as a trap beforehand implies that you know you’re going into the questioning and will probably lie, or that the FBI or the one questioning you already knows you’re lying.

And perjury charges can’t be brought over little things, like forgetting the specific time of a given event. Now if it becomes a PATTERN then perjury can be brought, which is another way of hiding the truth.

In other words, Trump can’t be charged with perjury before hand, and there is no such thing as a “perjury trap” unless you’re absolutely certain that lying it taking place by the person being questioned.

    • Posted by Chad Austin, at Reply

It’s not just that. If they can prove he did something that he would *never* admit to (which is a great many things with this guy), you can most certainly have a perjury trap just by bringing him in and asking about it.

    • Posted by jonnyboy950, at Reply

      Andrew Owens You’re a 🤡

    • Posted by Lud Puts, at Reply

No. They purposely ask questions in a way to get you to mess up. FBI does this a lot when they are after someone. It is a trap. And they will fail hard with it.

    • Posted by SERIOUSJONES, at Reply

There is…………And the facts of the matter is that the F.B.I isn’t asking questions looking for answers, they already have the answers they’re asking questions in hopes that Trump incriminates himself by lying under oath or answering questions in direct conflict of what they know is the truth! Thus a TRAP!

    • Posted by SERIOUSJONES, at Reply

Lud Puts if Trump agrees to testify under oath or on the record he will incriminate himself! My Uncle is a retired F.B.I Agent and The F.B.I has a 99% conviction rate, they don’t go after people they can’t convict! And if Trump was innocent this investigation would’ve ended months ago! Believe me, Manifort or Bannon (who the FBI as ask to interview) one of them will flip on Trump!

  12. Posted by Bruce Hauge, at Reply

Trump will probably try to fire Mueller during the interview. He’ll think he’s back on Celebrity apprentice.

    • Posted by Ginger G, at Reply

I would LOVE to see that interview. I suspect there will at least be some leaks from it but still … maybe we’ll get trump in front of Senate Intelligence Committee and it can be filmed.

    • Posted by excessmaterial, at Reply

He’ll say “out” expecting people to suddenly escort Mueller out of the room.

And everyone including Mueller will look around and be like “Uh, no? Now answer the last question immediately.”

  13. Posted by David Harrison, at Reply

Trump won’t follow his lawyer’s instructions. He will implicate himself bigly.

    • Posted by Scott Hall, at Reply

David Harrison he is a perfect candidate for reverse psychology. Tell him what to do and he will do the opposite. Flatter him and he’s your puppet

  16. Posted by dre shep, at Reply

Thats right Cenk. Give him that self confidence.

  17. Posted by Antony Stringfellow, at Reply

No doubt about it … Trump will be 100% certain that he’s the smartest person in the room and that pulling the wool over Mueller’s eyes will be a piece of cake.

It’s the same when he’s playing golf. He’s not just a crap player – he’s crap at cheating too! He cheats all the time but in ways that are obvious to his opponents.

For the ‘Art of the Deal’ book, he constantly lied about the deals he’d made, not thinking for one minute that Schwartz would find out the truth. All Schwartz had to do was speak with the other party who wouldn’t just tell a different story, they’d show him documentary proof.

Yes, he’s convinced he can fool everybody coz he’s smarter than everybody else. For Mueller, it will be like taking candy from a baby.
