The prosperity gospel is actually the perfect religion for Trump

    • Posted by sloovy mann, at Reply

VERY much TRUE. It’s ridiculous what so many fall for.

  4. Posted by Jesse Torres, at Reply

While I am a Christian (specifically a Baptist), I am tired of the hypocrisy and selfish promotions of Conservative televangelist preachers, mainly it’s because of them that Christianity is looked down upon so much by non-Christians. There’s nothing wrong with donating to your house of worship, but don’t claim its for helping the poor/less fortunate when so much of it goes to yourselves.

    • Posted by Janet Laballiere, at Reply

No kidding. I’m with you, brother. While I can’t judge anyone and I know you’re not either, it is saddening. Was it CS Lewis who said “When we Christians behave badly, or fail to behave well, we are making Christianity unbelievable to the outside world”. Yep.

    • Posted by CLureCo, at Reply

      Jesse Torres ,
The greatest threat to the church is from within.
Look at how many ppl refuse to even listen because of these kind of things……..
They are driving ppl away, the exact opposite of what they should be doing.

What would Jesus think of Trump?

    • Posted by humboldthammer, at Reply

Matthew 23: 5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

i think jesus would think that it was easier for a camel to go through an eye of a needle than for trump to enter the kingdom of heaven. 😀

    • Posted by TheGreat MangoMauler, at Reply

If Christians want to donate money why not donate to the poor and needy? Why donate to these millionaires scam artists?

Doesn’t make a lick of sense.

    • Posted by Edward Bernayse666, at Reply

typically the tithing is supposed to go to paying the church’s bills and keep the church going and usually is how it works. these scam artists have figured out how to convince people that it’s needed for …….while pocketing it for themselves.

    • Posted by Judith Croft, at Reply

I agree. I am a Christian but this makes no sense.

    • Posted by Kano Reese, at Reply

It’s not Biblical and it’s not Christian!

    • Posted by Edward Bernayse666, at Reply

@judith croft i never heard of “first fruits” when i was growing up in church. have you ever heard of that before?

    • Posted by Judith Croft, at Reply

I’ve only heard of it from televangelists on American channels. They certainly don’t promote that at any of the churches I have been to. I live in UK and lots of people donate money, food, clothes and goods for the poor as well as donating money for the upkeep of the church and its activities. What she is suggesting makes me wince and cringe. It sounds dishonest.

Remember, the Donald “donates his salary” so he would if not for that. In a way this saves him from having to make potentially the hardest choice of his life. After all, which one of the “two Corinthians” would he give it to. That has to rank with firing Meatloaf in the list of life altering decisions.

    • Posted by Janet Laballiere, at Reply

But I bet she gets a month’s pay or much more from us when he takes our tax money to pay her for her “spiritual advice.” In fact, I’m pretty sure she already has. Tax payers, are you loving this?

    • Posted by Katrina L, at Reply

+Martin Pêcheur Well, yeah. The problem is, US’s opinion on many matters is taken very seriously, including foreign “deals” and affiliations they have, so they definitely have influencing power. Other than that, their economy sucks, their laws suck, the education/prison/electoral systems suck, social policies suck, and the more Trump stays in office, the faster it falls. But it still has disproportionate influencing power worldwide, even if no one is taking Trump seriously, and that’s enough for me to define as “power” in general.
