" A slim majority of Turkish voters settled on Sunday to provide sweeping powers to their head of state, in a watershed minute that the country's resistance fears might cement a system of authoritarian regulation within among the crucial power brokers of the Center East.

With almost 99 percent of votes in a vote counted on Sunday night, supporters of the proposal had 51.3 percent of votes cast, and opponents had 48.7 percent, the country's selecting commission introduced.

The result will certainly take days to validate, and the primary resistance event claimed it would require a recount of regarding 37 percent of ballot boxes, containing around 2.5 million votes.

Salty Admiral I do care actually. We have Armenians in Iran who talk about it and it is a major part of their history. You want to look the other way because you’re a beta TYT fanboy.

Alex da Vinci He denied Armenian genocide twice in 2 different articles, the articles he referenced here:
      https://tytnetwork.com/2016/04/22/rescinding-daily-pennsylvanian-article/
HE HAS NEVER SINCE ADMITTED THAT THE GENOCIDE DID INDEED HAPPEN, he simply says:
“I am going to refrain from commenting on the topic of the Armenian Genocide, which I do not know nearly enough about.”
This statement speaks volumes about his current position on the issue. He isn’t willing to acknowledge a historical fact, for whatever reason.
His position on Armenian genocide RIGHT NOW is comparable to republican stance on climate change.

Hey, Cenk, you should tell your audience what history your country teaches the children. You know, denying the atrocities committed by the… YOUNG TURKS. Come on, brown bastard, tell them!

    • Posted by Gustav The Mad, at Reply

Cenk will never answer this question: Did the Armnian Genocide happen, Yes or No?

    • Posted by Melanoma Trump, at Reply

Cenk retracted that genocide thing some time ago Trump trash This is what he said (looking down).

Today, I rescind the statements I made in my Daily Pennsylvanian article from 1991 entitled, “Historical Fact of Falsehood? When I wrote that piece, I was a 21 year-old kid, who had a lot of opinions that I have since changed. Back then I had many political positions that were not well researched. For example, back in those days I held a pro-war rally for the Persian Gulf War. Anyone who knows me now knows that I am a very different person today.

I also rescind the statements I made in a letter to the editor I wrote in 1999 on the same issue. Back then I had a very different perspective and there were many things that I did not give due weight. On this issue, I should have been far, far more respectful of so many people who had lost family members. Their pain is heart-wrenching and should be acknowledged by all.

My mistake at the time was confusing myself for a scholar of history, which I most certainly am not. I don’t want to make the same mistake again, so I am going to refrain from commenting on the topic of the Armenian Genocide, which I do not know nearly enough about.

Thank you for being patient with me on this issue, though I might not have always merited it.

    • Posted by Gustav The Mad, at Reply

+Melanoma Trump Zero acknowledgement of the genocide. A non-retraction retraction, soft denial is still denial.

Simon B, I honestly can’t tell, are you mocking Russian trolls, or are you one?

    • Posted by Simon B, at Reply

Jill Young Well then let me back up both:
      1) Assad is going through the same BS allegations Saddam went through in 2003 and north Vietnam went through in 1964 (gulf of Tolkien).
      2) eastern Ukrainians, including those in Crimea are largely pro-Russian and have been throughout the war. Where as western Ukraine is anti-Russian. This hardly amounts to a take-over though as the majority of the population want it. Think of it this way, US military bases in South Korea are unanimously welcomed by South Koreans as they deter North Korea and China from attacking. But pro-North Korean countries could view the North Koreans as the half of the Korean Peninsula that isn’t under foreign occupation and US bases in the south as “taking over”

they want Islam to takeover Europe and Kill Christians

    • Posted by Jarnauga, at Reply

I live in Germany and I dont know anyone who would call Erdogan anything else than a right winger. He is a Muslim, it would be leftist of him to be open to other religions than Islam, like Christianity. Also who on the left is pro Islamic Fundamentalism? They are just against painting all muslims as terrorists. And how the hell can fundamental Islamists be on the left, the left includes beeing for a secular state and tollerating different religions.

      only Left wing party does
Democrats recently voted for Sharia Law in Montana
it’s Not Revisionist! it’s a #Fact the Left is in bed with Islamists

    • Posted by Jarnauga, at Reply

In a christian based country a right wing party is anti Islam. In a Muslim country a right wing party is obviously pro Islam and anti other religions. How is that so hard do understand.
And the democratic party of the US is not really a left wing party, its in the middle with a lean to the right with some politicians. The Republicans range from the middle do the right. With some idiots bringing religion into discussions about abortion or marriage. That is christian fundamentalism. the right wing in christian countries are in part christian fundamentalists and in islamic countries they are mostly islamic fundamentalists.

  14. Posted by La Tricoteuse, at Reply

Don’t worry Cenk, the rest of the West does think the US’s electoral system is a joke and undemocratic.

The EU gave, I think, 30 points to Turkey they had to change or work on to be considered for membership, from all of them the only one they accomplished was banning the death penalty, now you’ve Erdogan talking about bringing it back. I can’t really blame the EU for permanently foot-dragging the issue.

Don’t forget that Turkey occupies land from other EU nations and also is practicing cartographic aggression with *all* of her neighbours. All EU nations can veto Turkey’s application, and Bulgaria, Greece, and Cyprus will obviously veto it due to Turkey occupying their traditional territory and committing horrible atrocities against them that haven’t been forgotten. It is just a game, like Cenk said.

    • Posted by Naod08, at Reply

Turkey was never a full democracy.
That is why Erdogan got so much power in the first place.
The (Now) Old constitution was introduced by the Military Dictatorship from the 1989’s and had many repressive laws in it.
And the Governments(that are now the opposition) after the Military Dictatorship loved those repressive laws as they were the ones in power.
Now that they are not in power anymore, they suddenly hat it.
