I love how there is a huge issue in the United States regarding police brutality and the state sanctioned murder of citizens by police without due process, and the right wing either pretends it isn’t happening, or sides with cops who are over-reaching their authority. What happend? I thought rhe right wing hated over-reaching government/authority? Hypocrisy at its finest

Y2K FIRST! policing in the United States is far more dangerous than policing on an island. SECOND! Just because someone is unarmed doesn’t mean they aren’t a deadly threat.

The only hate the government when it comes to helping the poor. They love the government as long as it’s making life horrible for the poor.

Bradley Wallace Care to give any evidence to that?
(I already know the answer — it’s no, and even if there’s a “reason” it’s probably a loop involving the 2nd amendment in some form BOOM PSYCHIC)

Policing was NEVER instituted for the policing of white neighborhoods! It was instituted for the policing of black neighborhoods and then morphed into the policing of black, Hispanic and even poor white neighborhoods etc. For most part, laws aren’t meant for our protection, but instead…..for the financial and societal benefit of our corrupt system! To many ignorant people equate The term “law” with righteous or morality? We need police, but they have NEVER been truly about serving or protecting us as their deceptive mission statement would suggest!

For the most part, pigs are still dumb and now they all have to go to the 14th grade of criminal justice, which is about as intelligent as Dog the Bounty Hunter. They basically know not to start trouble with educated people or go to areas with lawyers etc to practice police brutality. The idea that a pig can even comprehend community and policing at the same time, is a myth.

And yet Police work in White neighborhoods too, Mind Blown!!!

    • Posted by Cthulhu Christ, at Reply

So, instead of calling on the high crime communities to commit less crime you think it’s easier to just eliminate logic and reason? If you want to catch fish you go to where the fish are. If you want to catch criminals go to where criminals are.

If you understand that prison labor accounts for nearly 100 billion dollars yearly to companies that use inmates to build their products, you are halfway there to understanding why America has the highest incarceration rate in the world.

Many years ago when I was younger, cops walked the beat (on foot,no car) and I used to hang out at a tough bar downtown and these 2 cops would walk in,know the name of the barmaid and strike up conversations with the clientele. They talked to everyone with respect and were respected around the neighbourhood. Now you couldn’t pay a cop enough to walk the beat or even to get them our far from their cars. They are tax paid thugs who have no problem breaking the law knowing that a full paid vacation is awaiting them after ward (what do you think the term ‘suspended with pay’ means?)

If a white person moves out of a black neighborhood it’s white flight, but if a white person moves into a black neighborhood it’s gentrification. If a white person sees color it’s racism, but If a white person doesn’t see color it’s ignoring racism. If a white person engages in culture it’s cultural appropriation, but if a white doesn’t partake in culture you’re non inclusive.

Also, if you’re white don’t take pride in your race because race is a social construct, but you should feel shame for the actions of your ancestors, because whites are uniquely wicked.

Gentrification is when wealthier people move into an area and push out the inhabitants by raising property prices which naturally raises all cost of living in such areas. I see gentrification in a slightly more positive light than many but I can understand how it can really hurt people. Cultural appropriation is a real thing but I don’t blame white people for adopting minority culture, it just really sucks that it takes whites to make some minority cultures acceptable. The rest of your comment is rubbish.

New York police are NOT the innovators the Los Angeles pd is. LAPD INVENTED the chokehold and the SWAT team. Ever since the Watts riots in the ’60s, LAPD has been heavily militarized. We had Police Chief Ed Davis in the early ’70s, who had police search every single person who went into a Pink Floyd concert, and kept a VERY visible presence throughout the entire concert. He promoted police brutality on people of color, and to this day, racism and brutality run rampant in the Los Angeles Police Department.

    • Posted by Sally Jackson, at Reply

In NYC whites hate blacks and most Puerto Ricans in their neighborhood and have been calling the police up until the Arabs became more of a threat. They still hate blacks, but now they call the police about Arabs more and call it diversity since they don’t actually have Arab neighborhoods in NYC

Police provoke certain persons that do not know better than to react negatively giving the police every right to use force. In some instances deadly force. That’s what some people never see and dead men don’t talk.

    • Posted by Mr. Edwards, at Reply

Darwin’s Fox that was not racist I don’t believe you know what the word means, because you’re using it wrong. If you like I can give you the definition of racist so that you can see why what I said was not racist… but I don’t think you want to have a discussion usually white supremacy doesn’t want to talk they want to point and accuse.

    • Posted by Darwin's Fox, at Reply

Mr. Edwards You said that the black man needs to start demanding for what? Justice? Respect? But under the law everyone has that and many non-white people are socially mobile. You are taking cases of police being a bit rough around the edges, a bit demanding, not having a lot of patience, and you are extrapolating injustice from that. I am saying that your premise of injustice is false. Therefore, your call to take justice through violence is false. I think you need to reconsider the job that the police are tasked with, and reconsider who is making that job turn into one that increasingly requires violence.

    • Posted by Mr. Edwards, at Reply

Darwin’s Fox wow you just went through a long spill of something else….. okay explain if you would please how anything I said is what you’re saying I said, Because it’s clear that what you are doing is insinuating, off of your own imagination of what I mean by what I say.

The police organization speak in codes. Community policing really means target certain communities and harass, violate their constitutional rights and possibly execute them or throw them in jail on trumped up charges.

    • Posted by Stephen Paddock, at Reply

Cameo Joi83 No, it means send police more into neighborhoods with higher crime rates. Stay out of trouble and they dont bother you. Pretty simple concept ,really.

Stephen Paddock, it is not you that gets shot in the back by these Criminal Cops, it’s your SON or MOTHER… Now that one percent takes on a whole different meaning and since these dirty criminal cops will never face justice for their crimes. There crimes take on a whole different perspective…

You are not the one being shot, it’s the people you love that are being murder at the hands of the criminal police force… Now, you can talk about that one percent, if you dare…

You live in a country where you can be killed for being ‘inconvenient’ Don’t answer coherently, run away, struggle to breathe, talk back etc. Just so you understand, THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN IN ANY OTHER WESTERN NATION. Ask yourself ‘What kind of person KILLS spontaneously because they’re pissed? Answer a psychopath. You don’t see people as human if you’ll shoot them 4X in the back and then go for coffee.

stop and frisk is not community policing.  it’s harassment

    • Posted by Izy Sanchez Jr, at Reply

Chris Smith chris, you do realize you are speaking from your bubble…you didnt even take the time to see it from a hispanic or african american’s point of view. Back in NY, i got stopped and frisked 7 times…called racial epiphet words by the cops while being frisked. Each of these instances i was just going to work. Cops were always stationed in our neighborhoods and not in white neighborhoods. So i disagree wholeheartedly with your statement…cause you are not seeing it from a minority point of view. You have to live thru it to understand. Thats why there is a divide in this country, people like yourself dont want to see it from our point of view…and dismiss our cries of injustice at every turn because it makes people who think like you uncomfortable

    • Posted by Chris Smith, at Reply

Izy Sanchez Jr oh stfu with your bullshit victim hood crap. You did not get stopped and frisked 7 times, nor do I give two shits if you disagree with me. There’s a reason minority’s are targeted, and why minority neighborhoods are the worst in any city. Stop looking for handouts and excuses and take responsibility for yourselves. Stop committing crimes at record levels and guess what? Cops won’t bother you! Common sense

    • Posted by samiamrg7, at Reply

+Chris Smith Attitudes like yours are precisely the problem. You don’t want to learn the consequences of the policies you espouse or whether there are more effective alternatives. You don’t want to do anything to solve the problem, just blame a group of people for society’s problems and punish them.
