" The mission for the Federal Emergency Situation Monitoring Firm was clear: Typhoon Maria had actually torn via Puerto Rico, as well as hungry individuals needed food. Thirty million dishes should be supplied asap.

For this significant task, FEMA touched Tiffany Brown, an Atlanta business owner without any experience in large-scale catastrophe alleviation and at least 5 canceled government contracts in her past. FEMA granted her $156 million for the task, and also Ms. Brown, that is the sole owner and also employee of her company, Tribute Acquiring LLC, set out to locate some help.

Ms. Brown, that is proficient at navigating the government having system, hired a wedding event caterer in Atlanta with a staff of 11 to freeze-dry wild mushrooms and rice, hen and rice, and veggie soup. She discovered a nonprofit in Texas that had delivered food help overseas and also locally, including to a Houston food bank after Cyclone Harvey.

By the time 18.5 million meals were due, Homage had actually supplied just 50,000. And also FEMA assessors discovered a problem: The food had been packaged independently from the pouches made use of to warm them. FEMA's solicitation required "self-heating dishes."

" Do not deliver another meal. Your contract is ended," Carolyn Ward, the FEMA having officer that dealt with Homage's agreement, contacted Ms. Brown in an email dated Oct. 19 that Ms. Brown gave to The New York Times. "This is a logistical headache."

We are accountable for what happens to American citizens in Puerto Rico and it is our responsibility to rebuild anything that breaks there. We need to apologize for the damages our hurricane caused them, it is our fault if any of our citizens suffer.
Trump is guilty and needs to be punished.

I laught at three Christian values cause I haven’t seen any of it. Only thing I have seen from them is greed to further simplify there lives and make other Americans from second and third class lives harder but Trump and Republican supporters are so dumb they don’t even notice that.

Because the energy infrastructure in Puerto Rico is more than twice as old as the rest of the United States, many of the parts needed to repair the damaged grid aren’t readily available and need to be manufactured. The lack of materials has contributed to the epically slow recovery on the island.

Puerto Rico’s power outage keeps getting weirder and more infuriating. It turns out that the territory’s utility has been withholding supplies needed to restore power after Hurricane Maria. In a tense, armed standoff last weekend, FEMA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seized much-needed electrical equipment from a warehouse owned by the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority, Kate Aronoff reported for the Intercept. Governor Ricardo Rosselló said the Department of Justice is investigating the power utility after the incident. The feds quickly distributed the seized materials to contractors — who were apparently spending their time watching movies in their trucks because they didn’t have the supplies they needed.

Real estate mogul POTUS recognizes that the longer relief takes the less owners will accept for their property, and the longer recovery takes the lower the price of land will be. Puerto Rico is a huge prize and he and his investor pals will do anything to get it.
