Terrorism is nothing brand-new to London. Cenk Uygur, Ana Kasparian, and Jimmy Dore the hosts of The Young Turks, give you historic point of view of fear strikes in London. Tell us just what you assume in the comment area below.

" We could not count forever on the inexperience of our enemies but we should appreciate it while it lasts. The container bomb on a London tube today was unquestionably planned to kill as well as impair as many individuals as possible. That it fell short does not decrease the malevolence of its makers. It disappeared discriminating compared to the lorries and cars driven into crowds around Europe this previous year have been; in a horrible method it was a lot more anarchic compared to the awful Manchester bombing, which targeted songs lovers, which some perversions of Islam would see as sinners. However it stopped working. Stunning and frightening though the experience of television travelers should have been, it could have been very much even worse.

By now, the actions to these tried atrocities is well practiced. The political leaders express shock and also disapproval, the police proceed with their job, the commenters of all shades of opinion prepare the items discussing why this has actually confirmed them right all along and also– in this year's development– Head of state Trump states something rude and unhelpful. As is always the situation with his tweets, there is no chance of knowing whether what he asserted is in fact real: did Scotland Backyard have the criminal under monitoring? If it had actually been true, he would certainly have again been guilty of tweeting out identified knowledge equally as he did after the Manchester bombings. However it appears to be simply one more example of his ability for quick-witted confabulation. It's significant, though, that Mr Trump's tweets drew a public rebuke from the prime minister as well as from the Metropolitan police, that both called his comments "purposeless". It's one more instance of the expanding lack of count on his judgment. That is not an outcome of any kind of terrorist campaign, effective or otherwise.

Today's attack looks evocative one 12 years ago, shortly after the terribly effective tube battles of 7/7, when an additional attempt was made to bomb London making use of home made dynamites packed right into buckets. The detonators went off, however the nitroglycerins did not capture. This might be just what happened today. If so, it is a tribute to the effectiveness of long, slow-moving and unglamorous efforts to remove prospective terrorists from the sources of the knowledge and also skills they should make an effective device. The 12 years that have expired since the last attack fell short this way are a suggestion, however, of the actually unpleasant facet of today's: if, as seems likely, one or more of the wrongdoers are young, British-born men, they will have grown up with 12 years of argument, pressure and also persuasion versus terrorism, supplied through mainstream Muslim point of view, every one of the mass media, or even the Prevent program, without this making any type of impression on their readiness to eliminate innocent people. We can not understand exactly how effective this pressure has actually remained in transforming other young men far from violence, however it is undoubtedly not enough by itself. That's no need to surrender, however it asks for a realistic look about the end result of our initiatives."

Cenk LOVES to bring up the past, in order to downplay the present. He think a peace deal will stop people who’s sole practiced belief is to eliminate everyone else who isn’t them.

What’s the point of this video, to actually suggest making a peace treaty with ISIS or just to emphasise there was more terrorism in the 70s?

    • Posted by Richard S., at Reply

The point is probably to make stupid excuses for islam.

  3. Posted by Richard S., at Reply

Yes we need perspective on terror attacks — but your perspective is not a reasonable one.

  4. Posted by Rusty shackleford, at Reply

How can you do a peace deal with ISIS ? Should we also make peace deals with the neo nazi’s?

  5. Posted by Kamil Cybulski, at Reply

Yeah but IRA didn’t want to conquer the world and make it Irish catholic.

  6. Posted by John Kimble, at Reply

Also WHY DOES NOBODY SEE THAT THEY CONSTANTLY EQUATE RELIGION (ISLAM) TO NATIONALITY (IRISH) OR RACE (WHITE)?

    • Posted by Patternicity, at Reply

      when did they do that?

So a terrorist attack happens like 15mins from where I live and TYT open with a joke.

    • Posted by Andrew Devine, at Reply

Well it wasn’t 15 minutes from where *they* live!

Peace deals with ISIS LOL heard it all now.

    • Posted by BartJ583, at Reply

      Mr Les Grossman
You forgot to mention that you would do all that because you hate Muslims, not because of the terror attacks. They are just a pretext for your kind. I mean, where is you outrage about unhygienic conditions in hospitals? That kills hundred times more people than terrorism, and would be cheaper to fix considering that the War on Terror costs trillions. But that does not give you a pretext to exclude Muslims, so you don’t care.

    • Posted by Mr Les Grossman, at Reply

Unhygienic hospitals?? wtf you going on about. Also yes I do hate the ideology of Islam it has no place in western liberal democracies it is incompatible.

    • Posted by klondike444, at Reply

Grossman …yes I do hate… You and ISIS have a lot in common. 🙂

Now come perspective is only needed when it’s a Muslim lmaoooooo. Man if its a white dude perspective goes out the window. Give some perspective on why Everytime there is a terror attack a bunch of Facebook pages gets massive likes from the Muslim community. The so called”moderates”

      yawn

BartJ583 good point. Totally refuted my statement. With arguments like these how did the left lose the election

The IRA situation was political, the Muslim sitaution is ideological. Much as I admire your optimism, there is no ‘peace deal’ that can be struck with the part of the Muslim population that hates western civilsation and wants to see it wiped out. What concessions do you think we can make in exchange for not being slaughtered? All convert to Islam?

    • Posted by Info Illness, at Reply

MissEm31 – the IRA situation was political? So Catholic v Protestant was not ideological then? Millions have died in the Middle East and YOU wonder why they hate us?? Yet the Saudi’s go unpunished for 9/11? And the CIA that funded Al-Quaeda?? We have caused death and destruction on a massive scale and we then cry crocodile tears for a bomb in London and blame Islam? Sorry but I don’t think it is YOU and your type that are being slaughtered here…

    • Posted by Ryan Nurmi, at Reply

Info Illness Saudi citizens were involved in 9/11, but Al qeada was based in Afghanistan.

The Saudi government, itself, had nothing to do with 9/11.

It’s like saying the American Government is to blame for what that kid did in North Korea to get tortured to death.

    • Posted by Hugh Miller, at Reply

Saudi funded Al Qeada before 9/11 and after they did the first World Trade Center bombing. Also Saudi is spreading Washbiane, and funding fundemental Mosq in Europea. So yes they are a issue. But we are to blame of ISIS. Number of Al Qeada in Yemen before Obama began bombing Yemen, less the 20. After 2 years of bombing, slightly less then a thousand. You think we killing children and family at funneral and wedding isn’t going to cause a blow back. What would you do say Iran bomb a wedding killing your family? Would you sit back and say it’s a mistake no biggy, or would you want some kind justice. ISIS is political, because most member that join, are doing to kick us out their country, and to get some type of justice for their loved one.

You are the face of ignorance – fister ha ha ha Best of luck with that 69 as well…

    • Posted by manhunt48, at Reply

+Demonicpoo He missed the part where top IRA leaders have since stated that strong British action like sending the SAS in forced the IRA to the negotiation table. . . Quite literally the opposite of what Cenk says is true.

    • Posted by Demonicpoo, at Reply

manhunt48 That’s not the opposite. It was one component that led to a peace deal. Cenk said to do “smart things” to get peace. A “smart thing” could surely be to use the special forces in order to bring an adversary to the negotiating table, right? The opposite of what Cenk said would be more along the lines of: The British government sent in the SAS and when the IRA leaders came to the negotiation table they were told to piss off and were slaughtered regardless.

  12. Posted by Tony Smith, at Reply

Even if we made a peace deal with ISIS what would stop them from enforcing sharia law and throwing gays of buildings and stoning women.

  13. Posted by Ryan Nurmi, at Reply

Cenk….you do realize that ISIS isn’t just bombing the west….they are killing Muslims in their own country as well…

These people cannot be reasoned with.

    • Posted by Donal Coleman, at Reply

Ryan Nurmi I have no idea but nobody had any idea how to bring the IRA to peace in the 80’s and look what happened ten years later

    • Posted by Ryan Nurmi, at Reply

Donal Coleman the IRA was a UK problem

ISIS is a bit more global than the IRA.

So if their demand is the removal of Isreal as a state….do we cave?

    • Posted by Donal Coleman, at Reply

Ryan Nurmi No of course we don’t just cave but bombing the crap out of innocent people also doesn’t help. So, I’m not say do nothing however I am saying the solution to the problem may not be known yet an bombing people just makes things worse.

    • Posted by Proud Boys, at Reply

Donal Coleman you act like we are just bombing indiscriminately. The majority of signature strikes came under your man Obama. We are using well calculated airstikes and special ops to take out key ISIS members, not just droping bombs all over Fallujah

    • Posted by Donal Coleman, at Reply

Ryan Nurmi Well I don’t have any man I am irish so he ain’t my man at all whilst yes I am left leaning it doesn’t mean I agree with everything Obama did.

    you’re slipping Cenk

  17. Posted by Richard V, at Reply

In TEN years, almost 170,000 people have been killed as a result of Islamic terrorism. Over FORTY years, just under 3,500 people have been killed as a result of IRA violence. Now joke about that you greasy white hating coward.
