Wolf-PAC's resolution has passed the New Mexico Senate. Just two days until your house ballots and we need your help! Cenk Uygur, Jordan Chariton, Nomi Konst, and also Michael Tracey, hosts of The Young Turks, discuss. Inform us what you think in the comment section below.

" Our Ultimate Goal:

To recover true, depictive democracy in the USA by pressuring our State Lawmakers to pass a much needed Free and also Fair Elections Modification to our Constitution. There are only 2 ways to amend our Constitution: (1) Undergo Congress (solitary number authorization ranking) or (2) Go through our State Lawmakers through a change recommending convention.

Wolf-PAC believes that we can no more rely on our Federal Government to do just what remains in the most effective passion of the American individuals due to the unfettered quantity of cash they receive from outdoors organizations to money their projects. We point to the failure of the Disclose Act as rock solid proof that this would certainly be a total waste of our time, initiative, as well as cash. We also point to the current decision by the US Supreme Court to not even listen to an instance filed by Montana claiming it did not need to abide by People United, as proof that state regulations is not a sufficient measure to solve this issue. Our team believe that we have no selection yet to put a modification in the hands of our State Legislators, that are not, currently in time, totally blinded by the influence of loan, and may actually do what 96% of the nation wants – remove the massive influence that cash has over our political procedure.

+quaxk can you prove that it’s not being used for the movement using a credible source and not a fake one like Alex Jones or the blaze which uses no facts?

    • Posted by Steve G, at Reply

No. Of course it can’t be proven, because of course it’s untrue. What would be the scam here? Cenk taking money just to pay employees to do nothing? What does he gain from that? And cooking up a political action committee designed for the arduous slog of anti-corruption, and then trying to nickel and dime people for $10 for that unglamorous cause is just about the worst, slowest way to make money in the world. Cenk could sell out for more money in the course of a month than this thing that he has been doing for 5 years.

Forney’s only “case” is that Wolf-PAC doesn’t give money to politicians, unlike the Club of Growth, which does. That’s because Wolf-PAC doesn’t need to lobby politicians for an issue that has 80%+ support among constituents. Fear of losing their job is leverage enough.

So the salaried employees are paid in order to mobilize and train and etc. the volunteers and act as spokesmen when talking to the lawmakers, the volunteers serve as the muscle and the man hours for the group, and Wolf-PAC works with the existing lawmakers so they don’t need to buy off new ones. So where else is the money supposed to go, other than to the employees and the operating costs? No scam.

sounds great but then I remember how the left and the right working together worked out in Germany. Usually, the right wins.

    • Posted by Steve G, at Reply

Mr. Clayton and Mr. Lake are no longer salaried employees at Wolf-PAC, but the financial structure is still similar to the one listed there.

Justice Democrats here we come. Bernie camp should leave the corrupt democrats and publicly support and lead Justice Democrats!!

    • Posted by Ray Hunt, at Reply

I think that Bernie is playing his cards great. He’s the “face” of the Democratic Party ladies and gentlemen. Why stop all of that now? He gets to be on tv, talk shows, radio, wherever and his popularity continues to grow. I think he may continue to stay a democrat until presidential elections come around then hopefully he’ll run as an independent. Idk. We’ll see

    • Posted by Weez naz, at Reply

in all honesty, Bernie needs to make use of the MSM to try and fight back against the attempted ACA repeal. He also needs the Democrats to be united against going with the Republicans’ plan. Sanders won’t be supporting us until the coast is clear, which could take a while.

I’m proud of my home state.. Now if Governor Martinez, will sign it into law

    • Posted by Steve G, at Reply

Martinez is not involved in this process. This is a resolution, not a bill, so it does not get signed, so it cannot be vetoed.

    • Posted by lekkki1, at Reply

Nope. She’s a sleazy resucklican, and nobody cares if she signs it or not. Her governorship has been marred by multiple scandals, mostly with her treasurers and secretaries stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars. She has no say. Although I will say that she stood up to Trump and blasted him.

You guys should make a list of names telling everyone WHO votes for or against getting money out of politics.

People need to know so that they can support the right candidates, and get rid of those who want to keep corruption in our government.

damn, if new Mexico passes then that is only 6 out of 38 states needed. We’re all fucked

    • Posted by Cary Miller, at Reply

Yes, an altered bill which can be almost nearly the same can be reintroduced, just give it time. The issue will come back around.

    • Posted by birlyth, at Reply

This is less about that convention and more about spreading awareness and building a “snowball effect”.

Like with weed legalization, first it started in Colorado and Washington, and now it is bigger and bigger and faster.

Same thing with wolf-pac, with each new state passing it it’s gonna snowball into more states passing it faster

    • Posted by Nicholas A., at Reply

3/4 of states, and I don’t know when that all started. I know lobbying least goes all the way back to Lincolns gang of three.

    • Posted by Steve G, at Reply

Yes, Bilbo. The next year it can be re-introduced. Wolf-PAC has already failed a couple of times in New Mexico, but only needs to pass once for it to be “on the board.” It turns out that this particular resolution may have a 10-year clock, meaning it would have to be renewed in 2027, but we’re optimistic for that as well.

    • Posted by Michael 마읡흘 Aronson, at Reply

38 states need to call for a convention to call for an amendment.

If this passes the New Mexico house, that’s the 6th state in favor of this potential amendment.
